Well….the repubs are out with their latest tax scheme and it is aimed right at poor and middle class taxpayers…and for people like me who live on SS and have no income tax liability, it would raise our tax obligation to 30%. If you haven’t read about it yet, the repubs propose to get rid of the IRS and income taxes and replace them with a 30% sales tax on everything…and that would be the biggest tax increase on middle and low income taxpayers in history, and the biggest tax cut on the rich and corporations in the history of the country…as actual economists have commented, sales taxes are the most regressive type of taxes that there are and they impact the poor most since the percentage of their income taken with the sales tax is such a greater proportion than the rich…and I really don’t know how I would even be able to live if my SS was cut by 30%…but this is what the repubs always do when they are in charge…attack the poor and middle class even though they are their voters…and those idiots keep voting for them and that leads us to where we are now…with SS and Medicare in danger and the biggest tax increase in history proposed by these idiots…geez…
Darn snow…
Well…darn snow…it took me a hour to do the snow today and clear the walks of the 8 inches that fell last night…and now my back is under heat again and the whole thing is pretty stiff and painful…but the heat has been working and the pain is nowhere near what it was a few weeks ago so I can live with it….and it is sunny out here for the first time in 13 days so I had to wear sunglasses out there or my night vision would be non-existent later in the day….more later…
January 29th
Well…running late today with not getting out of bed til 7:25…woke up before 6 but forced myself to try to sleep some more since I knew I wasn’t going out to get the paper today with all of the snow out here….there was no way I was going to bury the Miata on flat ground and then have to dig it out…slept okay but I feel pretty slow today with not eating enough….so I may have some toast this morning as I wait for the coffee to work…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t get much done so maybe I’ll do more today…I know I need to shovel the snow at some point but I’m going to let the rest of it come down first….so it will be an easy morning with coffee and news to read….there are a few FA cup matches on today that start at 8:30 but I already have my background tv with the 24 hours of Daytona on til this afternoon so I may just watch a bit of that since Man U is not playing….not much to do today…just need to wake up but that won’t happen til I get more coffee in me….so I’m going to go get my second cup…more later…
Don’t feel like writing today…
Well…yeah, I know I’m late getting here this afternoon but I just don’t feel like writing today…okay, I do see the irony of me writing that I don’t feel like writing but how else do I get that across? It has started snowing out here…at least that is what the little weather icon says on my front page but I got up and looked and it isn’t….but the radar says the heavy stuff is coming and we are still forecast to get 5-8 inches out here….so I’ll be out shoveling after the Man U match…I was out in almost dark for the last shoveling yesterday and that was kinda fun since I’m never out after dark…at least in the winter…still going to keep at the one meal a day thing until I just can’t take it anymore but I don’t think I’m at that point yet…I was feeling it when I got up this morning, but after lunch I feel better so it’s getting close….need to fill the bird feeder again today since I have so many birds using it…still no sparrows but lots of Juncos and some Cardinals, too….should probably open that blind so I can watch them…it’s why I bought a window mount feeder after all and it’s kind of weird to hear them out there and not see them…okay, done for now…might be back later…who knows?
January 28th
Well…running late today with not getting out of bed til 7:25 but I was up at 1:44 and 3:04 so my sleep was pretty broken and I’m feeling it right now..it feels like I need to do more than 600 calories today and I may have some toast soon to try to settle my stomach a bit…the only thing I got done yesterday was shoveling the snow twice and my back is feeling it along with my right thumb from slamming the shovel into the drifts I had…it’s black and blue and hurts to do this…it looks like a pretty easy day today and I’ll be watching FA cup soccer all day with Man U playing reading at 3 this afternoon…so I’ll have something to have on in the background as I read and get more of these done…snow is going to be coming in later and we may get 5-8 inches overnight but it won’t be too bad if the wind isn’t blowing…and it’s going to be colder so the snow should be pretty light…and the salt cleared the walks completely so I won’t have any ice to shovel through…not much to do today…just going to ease into it and have more coffee and read some news…and get a couple of posts out over on Mastodon….looks like a lazy day….more later….

Well…I probably shouldn’t bitch too much about having to shovel the snow twice today since it was pretty easy other than the two foot tall drift along the entire front walk that took some time…but it is going to snow again tomorrow night and we are supposed to 5-8 inches so I won’t be going out for the paper Sunday morning and that’s okay…I did salt the walks, too since they were icing up some and I had a brand new bag to open….only had one meal again today and should have been able to keep my calories around 600 for the day…only two more weeks of one meal a day…yay! I am sore from shoveling, though, so I may just heat it a bit since I’m just going to be sitting here watching tv…

Well…a new article out this morning shows that in the last 6 months of the idiot trump’s administration, he allowed his minions across the country to execute 10 times more people than the previous 10 administrations combined…and even 6 after he lost the election… and you can guess that racist asshole was just loving it since the majority of the prisoners on death row are minorities…every damn day when you think the news coming out about this absolute waste of skin can’t get worse , it keeps getting worse….how the hell do..okay, yeah, I understand how this asshole could do something like that…after all, he let hundreds of thousands of Americans die during the pandemic and he didn’t care…and he sent a mob to the capital with the knowledge that they may kill a bunch of people..and he watched gleefully as they were doing it…god I hate that asshole and I wish he would just die already…geez…
January 27th
Well…damn, I’m not sure how I’m running so late this morning but part of it is just lying in bed and staring at the ceiling for a while after I woke up….feeling a bit of depression this morning and want to withdraw from everything for a while so I don’t have to interact at all but I do need to run an errand this morning…and I want to wash the car, too, but the roads are all snow covered so what would be the point? Had an okay day yesterday and got a few things done along with cooking and I need to continue that today but sure don’t feel like it right now….it looks like we had enough snow last night that I’m going to have to shovel again today and that’s okay…not getting anywhere enough exercise and I am counting down the days until I can get back on the bike and work up a good sweat….not too sore today and that is welcome with the mystery bruises I’ve had the past few days…and I’m still not sure how the hell I got them….not much to do today…just the short errand and then cleaning but that is just a suggestion at this point….might just take the day off and watch tv and veg…who knows? Well…after the 2022 election and the blue takeover of our state, I had high hopes that we could return to normal and stop the repub bullshit that had polluted our political air here…and I was so happy that we have tough, capable women who live in the real world running the show here….and what you know you’ll never hear from any of them? Attacks on the LGBT community or teachers…read this quote from Dayna Polehanki, the Education Committee Chair: “At this stop, we will not participate in the demonization of teachers or LGBTQ students, and we will not give credence to fake scandals or conspiracy theories. Let me be clear that those days are over for the next four years while I hold this gavel.” Notice that she covered all of the things that repubs would be doing if they would have taken control and that we see in every damn red state…so thank you Michigan voters for turning out and voting for sanity and making Michigan a better place to live…
Running late…
Well…it’s been a busy morning with making the huge pork shoulder in the instant pot, having lunch, and then cleaning up not only the dishes, but the entire dining room including the table and floor and that took some time…it is nice get something done and clean some…and I will do the bathroom tomorrow or later this afternoon but I want to go out to shovel the snow here in a minute first…so that’s why I’m running late coming here…I’m hoping that I can come up with a topic as I shovel…if not, it’s back the news to try to find something…more later…
