Well..damn, running late today with doing the grocery run and then deciding to do two rides outside…just got back here an now the computer had decided to crap out and I had to take the battery out of it to get it restart…so I was out for 2 1/2 hours and did 25 miles and the first thing I did after the shower was put the heating pad on my back since It started to tighten up on the bike…and my abs hurt, too so I sure as hell don’t know what is going on…so this makes me late for a political one that I will get to but I haven’t even read the news yet today to find a topic….more later….
January 4th
Well…I had a dream of sleeping in this morning until almost 10 but then looked at the phone and it was only 7:23 and that was a little disappointing…and I’m sitting here with the heating pad on already since my back is seizing up again and I guess I’m going to have to see the doctor about it to see what the heck is going on….not going to get on the bike until after the grocery run if I get on it at all…just so damn worn out that I want to take a day off to just sit here and do nothing…but you know me, I won’t….still haven’t gotten started on the dining room yet and probably won’t today with how I’m feeling…I wonder if I’ll ever get going on this place again? We had some thunder out here last night and that was weird for being in Michigan in January but I’m glad it was just rain and not snow….and it looks like we may get through the next week without snow and that puts us one week closer to spring….I am going to get some burger to make chili today but that will wait til tomorrow with the soup and chicken leftovers I have….I am going to wince at paying 3 bucks a pound but I haven’t had beef for months and I can use a change…not much to do today…just the grocery run and riding the bike…but even that looks like way too much work right now…more later….
Dumpster fire in the House…
Well…we all know what a dumpster fire the House is going to be with repubs running it and it has started that out already with just the vote for speaker….for the first time in over a hundred years no one was elected on the first vote and Kevin McCarthy is seething about it…he needs the entire repub caucus and the bomb throwers on the right just aren’t letting him have it and that is even with him giving them everything they wanted…positions of power that they should be nowhere near…and even if he is elected ole kevvie is going to be the weakest speaker in the history of the House…and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving asshole…geez….
Scored a new pair of shoes…
Well…after I go off the bike this morning, I decided to make a run out to Meijers for mega tickets for the 785 million dollar jackpot for tonight and then to Kohl’s to look through the clearance racks like I do every year…..and today I scored a new pair of walking shoes… lightweight Fila memory foam that regularly cost around 60 bucks and I got them for 15…cool looking black ones that feel really good on my feet…so now I have two whole pairs of usable shoes to wear! Need to break them in before the trip….and I need to get on the bike again right now but my back is even worse today so I’m using heat to try to loosen it up…and I’m going to have to take something for it, too…crap…
January 3rd
Well…my back is a little better this morning and it doesn’t need heat yet so I’ll take that as a win…slept on my left side last night and I’m not sure why since I can’t breathe too well when I do that and it keeps me waking up all night…so I feel pretty worn out today but the coffee hasn’t started to work yet and it may be okay after that happens….it looks like another day on the indoor bike with it raining out there right now and that may be a good thing with how much my back hurt after riding outside last week….didn’t get much done yesterday and I’m not sure how I feel about that….with how much my back hurt there really wasn’t anything I could do anyway but I may try to work on the dining room today and just see how bad it will hurt….I do need to cook today and it will be the first time since t-day that I don’t have a turkey or ham….going to make a couple of chicken leg quarters and a baked potato for lunch and I will need to figure out what I’m going to make for the rest of the week….chili has been on my mind but I can’t find my recipe so I’ll have to make it from memory and I’m not sure I can do that…but I’ve made a lot of chili so I think I can wing it and have it come out okay….will have to remember to get some shredded cheese to top it with….not much to do today…whatever I do I have to be done by 3 when Man U plays…I did start to watch Kaleidoscope last night and it reminds me of Leverage…a pretty good show and I’ll do a couple more episodes tonight….and that will keep me amused for a few more nights….more later….
A little thing that everyone missed….
Well…read about this last night and almost forgot to do one of these on it….in the last big piece of legislation passed that will fund the government until next September, there was a small part in there that is going to force transparency on all of the shell companies the the rich use to avoid taxes here in the US…and since most of these companies are created here in the US, that means that most of them are going to have to register who the real owner of these companies are…so no more hiding money laundering in shell inside shell…and since the idiot trump uses these kinds of companies to avoid taxes by playing a shell game with them, the IRS will have a nice new set of tools to go after rich cheats like him or they will have to leave their money offshore with no way to get it back into the US to use it…it will be interesting so see how much financial corruption this exposes…and I hope stops….
Crap…
Well…my back is back to as bad as it’s been since it started to hurt and that sucks…I even had to take some ibuprofen since the pain was so breathtaking…literally…it has gotten a bit better after the heat and ibuprofen kicked in but it still hurts to move so I’m kind of done for the day after doing the laundry and putting it away….I do have a problem with my clothes dryer that I noticed a couple of weeks ago in that the thing doesn’t shut off on it’s own anymore…I think the timer is going bad, or has gone bad but I don’t know if I want to spend a hundred bucks to buy a new one with the dryer still usable…but that means I can only do laundry while I’m here…I’ve only done it while I’m here anyway but that takes away the option if I’m going to be gone more than an hour…oh, well…I can live with it…so I guess it’s no big deal…

Well…as I sit here with a seized up back that has me heating it again, I thought I’d do a little comment on the whining that the idiot trump’s former staff was doing during their testimony to the January 6th committee starting with Hope Hicks who cried that she would never get another job in DC…and this was a pretty common theme for others, too…and all I have to say is good! After seeing felonies being committed for 4 years and not saying a damn thing about it, how the hell could anyone trust them? It was and is their duty to report the illegal crap that was going on every damn day that idiot boy was squatting in the WH and that they didn’t says a hell of a lot about them…they knew he was plotting the January 6th attack and the overthrowing of the legally elected government and not one of these whiners said a thing….not one of them resigned until after the attack when they could have prevented it by just going public with idiot boy’s plans but not one of them did…so if none of them ever work again is not enough punishment for them….some of them should be in jail…geez…
January 2nd
Well…running a bit late this morning with not getting out of bed til 7:23…I did wake up about two hours before that and tried to go back to sleep but had the weirdest thing happen…I did sleep and dream for these short, couple of minute dreams that went all over the place…..and they all changed as I woke up again and again….just looked outside and there is pretty dense fog out there and I just may try to ride in it today…but it’s only 37 out there and I don’t want to be that cold…so I guess I’ll start the day downstairs and then go outside later in the day to get my two rides in….didn’t do much yesterday and don’t feel like doing anything right now and I don’t know when I will….going to start getting the stuff I need ready to work on the house again but I guess that could wait til tomorrow…I need more coffee to even start to think about that….I did get my bills set up to be paid yesterday so I guess that’s something and I may have to go out and do the grocery run tomorrow since I’m running out of milk….and I’m not buying any protein this week so I don’t have to wait til Wed….I did get the turkey carcass in the freezer yesterday but that took up the last space I have in there so I have to use up some stuff from there….took out some chicken and another container of ham soup so I’ll have food for the next few days….not much to do today….I think it’s going to take a while for me to start the day with how I’m feeling….so I think I’ll read a bit and then get on the bike….darn, my back hurts….more later…
Elon sets a record…
Well…with the cratering of Tesla stock and all of his other stupid financial moves, ole elon has set a record that I’m sure he never wanted to….he is the first person in the history of the world to lose over 200 billion dollars…yep, he’s lost half of his fortune since he bought twitter and with all of the shenanigans there expose him as being a lousy businessman and right wing troll, the sales of teslas is cratering along with the stock price and even the price of used teslas is falling like a rock as his yes men at twitter go about ruining it. So, can we just admit that when you start out with 400 million dollars in inheritance and make some money from it, it doesn’t make you a genius or even a good person…it just makes you appear to be an insufferable asshole with how you treat the people around you…I hope he goes broke….geez…
