Well…darn…just can’t get going this morning…got up at 6:37 and it’s already after 7 and I’m just getting to this….need to get moving but just poured my first cup of coffee so it’s not working yet….slept okay but don’t really feel like it but I feel that way all the time so I’m not surprised….I did get downtown last night to watch a band concert for a while and it was fun and perfect weather for it…but the damn motorcycle event started and all you could hear were people racing all over the place and the loud rock and country bands playing on the street…going to be a long 4 days….I did get out to the beach yesterday and got some sun and I’m doing that again today since it is supposed to rain tomorrow…yep, I’m surprised at that, too…and maybe even some storms Sunday…just realized I may have gone overboard with the protein with the grocery run yesterday when I opened the fridge door…bought 10 pounds of chicken, 4 pounds of smoked kielbasa, and a pound and a half of turkey….so I need to figure out how to use some and freeze the rest…..will probably make chicken today and use up the rest of the potato salad so I can make more tomorrow….not sure why I went so crazy but all of that protein only cost about 16 bucks so how could I pass it up? Not much to do today….just need to get on the bike here in about 13 minutes to get started and then do a normal day with a beach run in there….I did get some beans blanched and frozen yesterday but still no tomatoes so this year looks like a bust…oh, well….I just may take a day off tomorrow if it rains and get caught up on my cleaning….I wonder if I could just veg a day out? We’ll see…more later….
Man, another busy one…
Well…dang, another busy day today with getting on the bike before 7 and then the grocery run to three stores, back here for another ride, then out to the beach and back here to do some work to my old lounge so I can continue to use it the rest of the year…and now I’m done for the day and it is about 2:36….but I still have laundry to do and taking care of the gardens and that will probably take another hour so this will be a long one…I am going to head down to Heritage later to see a band concert just for the heck of it…not sure who is putting it on but there is a big sign up for it and it’s close so I’ll check it out. It is going to be loud around here starting tomorrow since they have a 4 day motorcycle event going on downtown with bands and lots of loud motorcycles and I may even ride down to take a look and hang around a bit…I don’t look forward to this one since last year idiots were racing up and down 7th street all damn day and night…but I guess it helps the businesses out here so I can suck it up and not bitch too much…maybe I will after it starts but not now…right now I need to just veg a bit and get the clothes in the dryer….

Well…with all of the bleating on the right about inflation and as they ignore that their party tried to destroy this country by an armed insurrection, I have a clue for repubs…trying to destroy this country and steal an election is worse than inflation…say it after me…stealing an election is worse than inflation….get it? And let’s make sure you understand this, too…not one damn repub has come out to say the the idiot trump is innocent…they all know he is guilty as hell and most of them tried to help with either the attack or the coverup afterward…how many of them do you hear still saying the election was stolen? Almost every damn one of them and most of the ones running for office this fall are running on the big lie and continue to spew that bullshit….even though every person from Bill Barr to his campaign chair told idiot boy he lost he is still poisoning our society with his “rallies” where he continues to lie to his followers and grift money from them….trump needs to be in jail and right now…it is not free speech when you are trying to get people to commit acts of violence against your political foes….and every one of the repubs who have testified to the January 6th committee have had to go into hiding since they have gotten thousands of death threats that are directly a result of trump and his cult of personality…when do we stop this crap? The time is now…geez…
July 13th
Well…damn, need to get going pretty quickly since I need to get on the bike before I do the grocery run so that means I need to get out of here in the next 15 minutes or so….it did rain last night so I won’t need to water the lawn today but I really wish it would storm or rain during the day for a change so I could see it….I have a little conundrum with the grocery run today…both aldi’s and DD have protein that I can use but that will mean I’ll have too much here…but how do you pass up chicken leg quarters for 59 cents a pound or smoked kielbasa for 1.99 or sliced turkey sandwich meat for 2.37 for 22 ozs? So that means 3 stops this morning and I need to get at it…slept okay last night but was up at 4:11 for the first time and then out of bed at 6:11 and I’m still in a sleep deficit for my life I think….and I still feel worn out but I guess I’ll have to live with that for the rest of my life…I’m old so I guess that goes with it….I did get out to the beach to play in the waves yesterday but the new beach has screwed up the wave action and made a bad rip and undertow…the waves were even going in toward the beach and out at the same time and crashing into each other…some weird stuff I’ve never seen before…needless to say, I had to be really careful out there and it took a lot out of me….but I’ll be back out there again today….but I’ll be using the old chair since the new one broke the first time I used it and I’ll have to return it and hope the 15 year old one will last out the summer….not much to do today…I got the lawn mowed late yesterday afternoon so I don’t have much to do but the grocery run today but I need to get off my butt and get going….more later….

Well…not sure if you watched the hearing today but damn, at the end, Liz Cheney dropped a bombshell that should have the idiot trump shitting his pants….it was revealed at the end that idiot boy tried to call one of the committee’s future witnesses and gee, I wonder what that call was going to be about? Luckily the target of the call didn’t answer and instead called their attorney and the attorney called the January 6th committee…and then the committee referred the evidence to the DOJ…and this crime is a felony that he did right out in the open in real time…so, I know I’m impatient that idiot boy is still running around free causing even more trouble when his crimes are clear and anyone else would be in jail right now, so damn, haul his ass in right now and get this over with…and don’t stop with him…Flynn, Giuliani and the rest of them need to be in orange jumpsuits right now, too….so come on Garland…get on the ball….
Women’s rights on the ballot….
Well…some good news today here in Michigan as the groups trying to enshrine women’s rights to control their own body in the Michigan constitution blew past the required 400K signatures on the petitions to almost double that….so it will be on the ballot this fall and I am pretty damn happy about that…and the article went on to say they had 60,000 volunteers sign up to gather the signatures necessary and no one has ever seen that before…and with these rights polling at over 70%, it is almost certain to pass…but you can be sure the repubs here are already scheming to nullify these rights so we also need to vote these corrupt assholes out and put the dems back in control of the house and senate along with re-electing Whitmer for governor…okay, the JWST photos are coming up…need to watch….
July 12th
Well…damn, finally…we got some rain out here yesterday and it even rained twice in one day and I can’t remember that happening in a long long time….and I put food down on it before the rain and I think it’s as green as I’ve ever seen it…at least in the summer…and that means that I’ll have to mow here today or tomorrow…and it may even rain again tonight so that means that I won’t have to water it til Friday or so…slept okay last night but woke up with tight skin and can’t figure that out with not going to the beach yesterday…all I did was drive down to GH to get a new beach chair so that must be it…and the new chair fits in the trunk so that is cool…didn’t think I’d be able to find one this late in the summer….I am going out to the beach today to try it out but need to be back here by 1 for the hearing…so I need to haul ass to be off the bike for the new JWST photos that will be revealed at 10:30 and will need to be on the beach by 11 or so…damn, see that…rushing again and I can’t figure out how not to do it when I have things I want to do…..not much to do today….just going to ride and get to the beach and then veg out for a bit this afternoon….have a nice cool breeze blowing through here right now and I wish I had time to just enjoy that for a while…but I have to do my teeth right now so I can get on the bike….more later….

Well…I have just about had enough of all the sniping going on from dems that think Biden isn’t doing enough or isn’t moving fast enough to address the problems this country has…I mean, shouldn’t he have passed every bill that every dem wants by now? Shouldn’t he have fixed inflation by now? Shouldn’t he have fixed roe by now? Shouldn’t he have fixed climate change by now? You get the picture…when the other side operates like a monolith with talking points handed out every day and no dissent is allowed, the message is pretty consistent…but on our side everyone has an opinion and everyone wants those opinions acted on…but that is just not how things work when you have two dem senators that are dems in name only and have done more to damage Biden’s agenda than the repubs have…why aren’t you dems bitching at them? They are the ones holding everything up and no amount of cajoling is going to move them to help get rid of the filibuster since it is the source of their power. Look, I know our side lives to bitch about stuff but this election is too damn important for us to have to try to convince people to vote…we need to just suck it up and vote even if everything isn’t great…it would be a damn sight worse if you folks stay home and that allows the nuts to elect more crazy ass repubs who will continue to dismantle this country…just fricking vote…and stop complaining for just a little while…geez…

Well…darn…the car started leaking coolant again today so it looks like I need to find a shop out here that will work on it….probably a water pump that will cost at least 600 bucks to have fixed since you have to take the entire front of the engine apart to get to it and then you have to replace the timing belt, too, while you have it apart….along with all of the gaskets for the cam covers since they have to come off, too….so I guess that will be the project for the week…and I just noticed that I have blisters on my scalp from too much sun yesterday…so I guess the beach is out today….darn again…
July 11th
Well…running a bit late this morning with not getting out of bed til 6:30 and I feel pretty worn out today….one of these days, I’m going to take a day off and just sit here and watch tv and drink coffee all day….but not today….have a lot to do today and need to get going here in a few minutes to get two rides in and head to GH to check out a new beach chair….I am looking forward to the release of the first JWST photos tomorrow that are supposed to be pretty cool and will start the flood of new science from it that I am pretty geeked about….it’s like the Hubble all over again and I can’t wait…and then there is the latest January 6th hearing that I will be glued to…but damn, indict the asshole in chief already…trump needs to go to jail and right now….but that’s a topic for another one today…and I will get to a political one later….two of my sunflowers died and I can’t figure that out…must be a fungus or something that I haven’t seen before…oh, well…I’m still waiting for it to rain out here and I am still shaking my head that the storms from yesterday fell apart again when they hit the lake and I expect that the ones that are forecast for today will do the same….I probably should put some food on the lawn just in case….not much to do today….just the rides and errand to GH…and I may go to the beach since there are beach warnings up and there may be some waves to play in…but there is not too much wind right now so that may not be til later…..need more coffee and to do my teeth….more later….
