Well…that was a little better….didn’t get up til almost 5:30 and then decided to go back to bed and didn’t get up til 6:45 and that is as close to a full night’s sleep that I can ever expect…but, I still feel worn out today even with being good for a second night and I’m going to try for three tonight just to see if the effects are cumulative and will make me feel better as the days go on….I did get some stuff done yesterday and really do need to start throwing stuff away and getting packed…it looks like I’ll need to get a bigger truck this time since I filled a 10 foot box last time and I have a few more things this time since I am taking a dinette set, chair, and bookcase from here that I need and I could barely fit my stuff in a 10 foot last time….and it’s going to cost a bunch with having to go 40 miles on the move…oh, well…at least my heel is better to the point that I barely notice it…but I’ve gotten lax at treating it and need to do better to keep it from cracking again….not much to do today…need to go back to the bank to get the statement with my earnest check on it since it just posted last night and I need to get that to my mortgage guy…and I am going to try to get out on the bike today but it is still going to be cold and I am just not dealing with the cold this winter….more later….
Man, I’m exhausted…
Well…I guess sleeping only about 4 hours makes you kind of exhausted…who knew? And coffee works almost too good on the day after a no cocktail night and I was jittery all morning from it….but now I’m just worn out after re-grouting the bathroom where the grout had fallen out and it came out pretty good and cleaning some downstairs…I think part of it is the relieving of some of the stress that came from worrying about whether or not I was going to get the house or not…still have a couple of pieces of paper that the mortgage folks need but I can’t get those until they show up at my bank…I also wrote to my congressman to try to have them find out why I didn’t get my 600 buck covid check since the website that was set up for people to check has been shut down and there is no way now to figure it out…and I don’t want to miss the next one…that two grand will buy me a lawnmower and washer for the new house and maybe even a snowblower…so I need to get that figured out….especially since they may have a couple more of the 2k checks and that would buy the new Miata almost….okay, that’s enough…I’m tired and am going to watch a little soccer….

Well…do you hear that? It’s the quiet sound of competence that Joe is bringing to all parts of the of the government…no fanfare, no boasting, no fighting, no name calling and guess what? Over 70% of the country likes what he’s doing and that even includes a lot of repubs that haven’t drunk the qanon koolaid….now, how long will that last? Who knows but one thing that I am a little pissed about is the damn MSM like the NYT who are questioning the use of executive orders to reverse the damage that idiot boy did with his…saying he is using them too much…look, Joe has been in office for 9 days and they are already bitching? Especially for protecting the DACA young adults who just want to have some stability in their lives and to know that ICE is not going to show up at their college and put them on a plane to a country they have never been to? All of the things Joe has done with EO’s have to been to root out the racist and homophobic bullshit that trump was doing with them and protecting Americans from discrimination like the ban on trans people serving in the military. Gee, I guess it’s hard for the media to understand that what Joe is doing is what the people want done, not just the rich or corporations…what the people want…now that’s a strange concept that the media just doesn’t understand….
January 28th
Well…darn, another 2:54 morning for the first time up and then tossed and turned until 5:53 when I gave up and just got out of bed…but I know the reason is that I did a no cocktail night to start to get back into shape for the move and that is going to continue for a while until it becomes a habit again….still feel like I have a cold and that was one of the things I was trying to find out by taking the night off….but it could still be allergies they feel about the same…didn’t get much done yesterday but the grocery run…didn’t even get out on the bike since it never got out of the 20’s…I wonder where that warmer than normal winter that was predicted went? At least it hasn’t snowed as much as normal and there is no big event in the forecast for the next couple of weeks at least…we’ll see if I get out today…would like to just for the small amount of exercise it gives now….I have started to pack my stuff back up to get ready for the move but I don’t really have too much stuff…I am taking a lounge chair and bookcase that was here in the house since my son doesn’t want them and I can use a few things other than my couch…oh, and the small dinette set that is in the kitchen and that will fit in my small dining room quite well….not much to do today…just prep and the bike ride but that’s enough for now…more later….

Well…don’t ever let any repub lecture you on the rule of law ever again after the debacle that happened in the senate yesterday when 45 repub traitors voted to not even have a trial again for idiot boy’s second impeachment. So now I guess it’s okay to send a mob in to try to kill your senators and representatives….and your vice president and not be held accountable for it. This shouldn’t be a surprise since they didn’t hold a trial but just a vote for the idiot’s first impeachment when there was overwhelming evidence that he committed many, many crimes…but, while we probably won’t get a conviction this time, with the dems in charge of the senate there will be a trial and there will be witnesses and evidence presented and we need to expose how many of these traitors we in on the plot to overthrow the election….and to tar all of the repubs for supporting trump and letting him off both times. Cripes, I’m an old guy and I can’t remember a more craven un-American bunch than the current crop of repubs…when I was a kid, they at least had principles….but no longer…and they all need to go…
January 27th
Well…feel pretty lousy again today and I know part of it is only taking in 500 calories yesterday…just had a pork chop for lunch and nothing else for the rest of the day and I’m going to be paying for it all day today….I think I slept okay and didn’t get up til 6:30 but I still feel like I have a cold…lungs are filled with crap and my nose is plugged up and am exhausted…and I have the grocery run to do today but that’s it…signed the papers for the loan on the house yesterday and feel pretty good that I’m only paying 2.25% and that makes for a 350 dollar a month house payment and I can swing that pretty easily….now I just have to wait til I close on the deal in three weeks or so and I can start moving….I did get the house cleaned up yesterday and I had to shovel the snow twice so I am still sore from it…looks like I won’t have to do much today and I need a day like that to relieve the stress from everything going on….was really concerned I wouldn’t qualify for a loan with only SS for income but it all worked out….not much to do today…just the grocery run and no bike ride with the ice and slush on the roads…I may be able to relax a bit and that is welcome….more later…

Well…man, I’m getting to old to shovel snow I think….just finished the driveway and sidewalks and I am damn sore from it….and it’s still snowing so I’m going to have to do it again later today…that is one good thing about the new house….no driveway…just about 6 feet to shovel in front of the garage door to get the car in and out…but that’s if they plow the alley that the garage is on…if not, I may have to buy a snowblower to keep the alley clear enough so I can get in and out…but with a two stage that should be pretty easy…but that won’t be till next year…this year will just be shoveling…and more pain…

Well…does anyone else hear it? The wonderful silence of a twitterless idiot boy? I guess some his former aides are saying that trump is stewing now that Fauci is telling the truth about trying to be forced to lie for him….and you can see it in Fauci’s face that he relaxed with Biden in the WH and the re-emergence of an emphasis on science again…and trump is still really pissed that he can’t tweet to “set the record straight” when Biden told the world that there was no vaccine distribution plan that was left behind by trump’s cronies….you know what else is nice? Having competent experts being appointed to run the government instead of incompetent lackeys…oh, and no lies from the WH briefing room…just information that the country needs to know so everyone knows what is going on. I don’t cringe anymore when I get up and look at the news in the morning, either…since I know Joe is a decent man who would never do any of the crap that trump did daily…and I am even a little excited about the progress that Joe has made in just 6 days…the country looks and feels like a better place already and will continue to get better every day with Joe in charge…and now I’m a homeowner and it looks like I’ll make the deadlines for moving…all in all things are looking up…one more move…
January 26th
Well…man, I feel run down this morning…but I did make it all the way til 6 with not waking up so I guess that’s something….and the shoulder that I got the vaccine in is better…yesterday I had pain all the way down my arm to my wrist which is not much different than when I get a flu shot so no big deal…and I got scheduled for the second dose on the 14th of Feb and a week after that I should have full immunity….I sure hope I do since I have to move soon after that…my stress levels have started to decline a bit with getting the news that I am approved for the loan for the house…I am meeting with the mortgage broker today to sign the papers and give him my financial information….but then I have a few weeks to pack and take it easy until the final push to get moved….I do need to clean this place up since the broker is coming here today but I have all day for that and it should only take a couple of hours…it snowed last night so it looks like no bike ride today…I was a little relieved when I rode yesterday that the lube fixed the problems I was having with the drive train but the shifter was frozen up after washing it and putting it in the garage…but that fixed itself after a couple of miles and I got a nice ride in….not much to do today…just cleaning and hanging out but that is all I really want to do right now…more later…

Have been running around all day getting the paperwork necessary to get the loan for my new house…and I am approved for the loan by the way…and when I was in the car I noticed that hmmmm…it had no gas in it after running out to Hastings and then to Muskegon and back and doing errands…so I stopped at the new gas station at the end of Valley to fill it up…to explain the yow, the gas tank on the car holds 10.9 gallons of gas and when done, I had put almost 10.6 gallons in it…so I had about a quart of gas left in the tank…probably shouldn’t run it down that far anymore with the car getting older and the tank probably has some crap in it that I don’t want to suck up in the pump….this was by far the most gas I’ve ever put in it at one time…so again…yow…
