Well…another month starts and the hope that winter is over is getting closer to being a fact but the weather widget just said 2 inches of snow in 4 hours and that is depressing…oh, well…slept okay last night and didn’t get up once all night and that is pretty unusual but I still feel worn out as I always do but that is just from being old…one of the boards I bought for the trim was not straight and I thought I’d have to buy another one but I clamped it to my work table with my c-clamp and it appears straight enough to use and that is cool…it’s going to be another busy day today with getting the rides in, baking bread, and making Masala and that will all be done by noon…I did watch the Bob Dylan movie “A Complete Unknown” last night and it kept me interested through the whole thing and reminded me what a frickin talent he is…very cool…and I’ve seen him live in GR with Willie Nelson but it was pretty disappointing when he stood at the back of the stage and I couldn’t understand him at all…have about 25 minutes before I need to get on the bike but I need to have another cup of coffee first…more later…

Got one side of the frame done…
Well…got one side of the door frame done this afternoon and it came out pretty good…and I didn’t use any duct tape to do it…I think I’ll finish it up tomorrow or maybe not…who knows? I did make a chicken burrito for lunch and got the dough for more sourdough made and in the fridge to bake tomorrow morning…didn’t get out on the outdoor bike today with the gale warning that was on all day and but I did get three rides in indoors to make it to over 1,300 miles so far this year and that’s not bad for two months of all indoor riding…it looks like I’ll be able to ride outside Monday and Tuesday of next week and start piling the miles on out there…ran out of leftovers today so I only had the one meal for lunch and I’m okay with that…need to get back to losing weight again…okay…need to get back to reading for a bit…
Canadian “snowbirds” getting the hell out…
Well…here’s an unintended consequence of the bully in chief constantly attacking Canada…it appears that Canadians who own second homes in the sun belt are selling their houses at a rate never seen before…and every damn one of them says that getting away from the idiot trump is the reason…and idiot boy just said the other day that he wants to put an additional tax on foreign ownership of houses here up to 50% of the value of the property…so the smart Canadians want no part of idiot boy stealing 50% of the equity they have built up over the years and are bailing out before that happens…and it’s not just those threats that have started the stampede, it the general idea of trump and his minions and the damage they have done to US society, making it more coarse and hateful and the Canadians just don’t need to put up with that bullshit like we US citizens do…oh, on last thing…tesla shares have crashed 35% over the past week taking the valuation of the company down from 1.5 trillion down to 900 billion and people are losing their shirts especially elon and he has only himself to blame stupid bastard…geez…
February 28th
Well…up at 5:09 this morning and that’s way too early for me…but I knew there was no chance to sleep more so I decided to get on with the day…so, I’m having my first cup of coffee at 5:33 and should be able to get on the bike around 6 to get three rides in before 10…then I have errands to run…Meijers, Aldis, and depot to set myself up to not go anywhere until late next week…I do need to pick up the 8 foot trim pieces I need so the top will go down on the car today and that helps me maintain my top down in every month streak…I may take the day off working on the door frame and just cook and read…going to make chicken burritos and maybe a salad today to use up the lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes in the fridge…going to prep dough for a loaf of bread tomorrow so I can bake it Sunday along with making some Masala…the new starter stayed on the floor heat register overnight and it looks good so maybe I’ll prep the dough today…I do need to make some stir fry and I got some bang bang sauce to use in one and I think that’s pretty spicy and I can use that…not much to do today…yeah, that’s not true…have lots to do and need to get moving in 14 minutes…so I’ll pour down another cup of coffee and get at it….more later…
4 years…
Well…it’s an anniversary of sorts today and I’m not sure what I think about it…it was February 27th 4 years ago that I moved in to my house here in Muskegon and when I think back to what this neighborhood sounded like then, it still makes my BP rise…I mean there was that thumpy assed bullshit was coming from every side all day every day…since I moved in here in winter there was very little noise…until it thawed and it was so bad I almost sold this place…but that was the bad times and it’s much better now…I’ll still have to make noise calls once it warms up but I don’t take it personally anymore…just call and talk to CD for a minute and a half and be done with it…okay, now the good…I really like owning a home again and it will be paid for in about 10 more years…and the trails are so close and I am itching to get back on them…will do an outdoor ride tomorrow but there will probably still be ice on it…one thing gave me a reminder how easy it is to live here…went out to pay the water bill at the city office and there has never been a time that I couldn’t park right at the door and get business done in about a minute..then over to the library where I parked right out front…again…and got 4 more books…the whole trip took 10 minutes and I was back here…just frickin easy….I do have work to do on the door frame today to get it sanded so I can start fitting the new trim tomorrow…but then again, I can do whatever I want…I will work but battlebots first…

Well…with the appointment of the stupid vaccine hater RFK jr to head HHS, the inevitable has happened…he has put the health of every American at risk by stopping funding for any vaccine work being done by HHS…and that even includes cancelling a meeting with vaccine makers on the next flu vaccine that was set for a few weeks…and after the most deadly flu season in 20 years, that means that there will be no flu vaccine this fall and thousands of Americans are going to die…and kids are already dying in Texas from frickin measles that were eradicated in the US when I was a kid and now these asshole vaccine deniers are going to put every kid in this country in the crosshairs…there have already been 124 cases in Texas and it’s going to get worse since the morons who live there won’t have their kids vaccinated…look, these idiots even put a hold on polio vaccines and you can bet that polio will be circulating in the unvaccinated soon…I have had enough of these ignorant assholes putting the whole damn country at risk just because of their stupidity…geez…
February 27th
Well…up a little early today at 5:41 but I slept okay so I’ll take it…still trying to stop grinding my teeth and that has been going on for years…at least it isn’t causing pain this time…the snow has been melting like crazy out here and I think I jinxed spring coming by putting the winter coats away yesterday….and we are getting a blast of cold Sat and Sun with highs in the 20’s but no snow so maybe spring is really coming…going to ride outdoors tomorrow with the temp getting to 46 and I am curious how much ice and snow is still on the trail…going to work on the door frame downstairs and get it ready to start assembling it today but there is no urgency so I may take a day off and read a bit instead…hitting the library this morning to pick up 4 more books and it is so nice to not have to think about getting out of here and shoveling the snow…should wash the car at some point and get off my ass and look for a new one…the birds have abandoned the feeder and I haven’t had to fill it for two days so I’m glad I didn’t buy more food this week…not much to do today…just need to get more coffee down me and get on the bike here in a few but I don’t feel like it right now…more later….
Got some things done…
Well…it’s been a little busy today with getting the first ride in, then the grocery run done, and then two and more rides and some work downstairs but now I’m going to take it easy for a while…didn’t get outdoors with the rain still here off and on and it never got over 40 and that is too damn cold for me…I did get some sliced turkey today for 1.50 a pound so I got two two pound packages and lots of it will go in the freezer…have lots of food to make for the next week and will be going back to some chicken tacos and Masala over the weekend and still have enough lettuce to make a few salads if I want…I do need to cut more veggies up to dip and should get on that right now…I did finish the books and can go to the library for more tomorrow after the rides but I do want to try to go out for a ride but it looks like Friday will be the day…
Tesla sales are tanking…
Well…with the fascist musk shitting all over the US and firing hundreds of thousands of government workers, it is coming back to haunt him in the latest tesla sales numbers…all across the globe sales are down by up to 70% with an average of 45%…and you can understand why with over 75% of Americans hating what the idiot trump is allowing him to do…and let’s be blunt teslas were never very good cars and they have been selling the same old cars since they were introduced with no refreshes in either the exterior or running gear…and the cybertruck? The only people who ever bought them were musk fanboys and that is not a large pool of people to draw from…and damn are they ugly…saw one this morning charging on the tesla chargers at the good Meijers this morning and just shook my head…I wouldn’t even take one of those things if they gave it to me…I think ole elon has earned this sales disaster but I do feel bad for the people who work for tesla who are going to be out of a job soon…geez…
February 26th
Well…damn, I’m running late already and it’s only 6:41 and I need to get on the bike by 7 to be able to get the first ride in before I head out for the grocery run…I am going to try to get an outdoor ride in today but it’s all going to depend on the rain and it looks like we’ll get a couple of hours in…but it’s 31 degrees so it may be snow and then I won’t drag the bike out of the basement and I’ll wait til tomorrow…slept okay last night but sure don’t feel like it…it will be a struggle to get going in 14 minutes but I have to do it to keep on schedule…I just made some pour over coffee and I’ll have a cup of that before I head down…need to buy some more allergy meds and I’ll get some more coffee beans so I’ll have 5 pounds in stock here…I did get the work area cleaned up downstairs yesterday along with more work on the door frame but I’m not sure how much I’ll do today…some, I’m sure but I have no motivation right now…Man U plays this aft but they’re playing so lousy that I’m not sure I want to see it…need to get moving…more later…
