Cheap coffee beans and snobs…

Well…when I was searching for some cheap whole coffee beans, I went into the comments for the Hills Brothers beans that I did buy and it made me laugh…I mean what did they expect? Some of the criticism would fit any whole beans that sit around for a while like “the aroma goes away after a couple of weeks” or “not as smooth as I hoped it would be”…I guess I have the luxury of history when I saw these…that my mother used to drink Hills Brothers, making it in her percolater that she put on the burner on the stove…and I can still remember the noise it made and watching the coffee splashing in the little glass window on the top of it…I know it’s difficult for us drinkers when coffee beans that used to be 13 bucks are now 39 but I look on the search for affordable beans to be a little fun and I do anticipate getting the beans in a couple of weeks and trying them…I know me losing my sense of taste is both a blessing and a curse…I can’t taste the things I want to but I also can’t taste the bitterness that comes with cheap coffee…after all, it’s just a CDS (caffeine delivery system) to me anyway…I do feel for people trying to deal with the stupid inflation of coffee caused by idiot boy’s tariffs…but I think they need to temper their expectations…after all, brisket in Texas is up to 49 bucks a pound and they could be paying that…
