Well…another day gone by and not really anything to show for it…and, I’m running really late today since I had to make two runs out to get the paper…wasn’t there at the normal time and that threw me off for the morning…didn’t sleep okay last night and I think part of it is that I fell asleep on the couch and I am sore from doing that…oh, well…didn’t get much accomplished yesterday other than cooking…didn’t even clean at all so I do need to do the bathroom today….and there are no Lions on today so this day is shaping up to be a bore…maybe a Netflix marathon is in order? Made some of the crappiest coffee in a long time yesterday that I am finishing today…trying to save money and make the coffee last is just not working…it is more like brown water…I can’t afford to buy coffee so I guess I’ll just have to live with it…I do have tea in the cupboard but that gives me terrible heartburn and I’m not fond of the taste…more later…

Well…have been sitting here and I could say I have been wracking my brain to come up with a topic, but that’s not true…have been getting hooked on bobsled, skeleton, and luge since they started to show it on one of my channels…pretty cool….one thing I did want to talk about is the idiot governors who are falling all over themselves to try to buy jobs from Boeing since the company screwed it’s workers in Washington and decided to build the next plane anywhere but there. These governors are doing the same thing that Tennessee did for Kia a few years back when they built them a factory to the tune of over $500 million dollars and gave to to them for free…along with tax incentives that will allow them to not pay any taxes…ever! Now, the governors of many states are upping the ante with Boeing…with incentives that will measure in the billions of dollars and make sure that each job will cost over $500 thousand dollars. I am just so tired of profitable companies being allowed or even encouraged to play the states off against each other to transfer taxpayer wealth to their owners….especially since one of the sweeteners is always to hold wages down by a non-union workforce…what I don’t understand is why Boeing would want to do that again…when many of the problems with the Dreamliner launch have been traced back to the low pay, low skilled labor that they used at the plants that made the sub assemblies….just another incidence of the blindness that comes from seeking lower cost labor as the silver bullet to profitability…and not innovation..geez…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I lost at pool for the 3rd week in a row and I’m not sure how I feel about it..okay, I do…don’t care…slept okay last night but got up really early so there will be a nap at some point today…or maybe not…who knows? Have been out already this morning and I really do have to remember to dress warmer…it was just damn cold putting gas in the car…but, I am all set for the weekend now so it looks like hibernation is going to be the order of the day…I should clean my bathroom and I think I will after coffee…other than that, not much to do today…Michigan plays Arizona in basketball at noon so that might be something and the Wings play later so I will have something to do…more later…

Well…in my reading yesterday, I ran across a story that just made me shake my head it was just so wrong…in case you haven’t read it yet, there was an 18 year old in Texas who was driving drunk and killed 4 people and the judge in the case gave him nothing but probation.. a long probation but similar cases have resulted in jail time of up to 15 years…and the judges reasoning? Because this kid grew up in a rich, privileged household, he was not responsible for his actions since he always got his way and no one taught him right from wrong. It’s not as if the rich don’t already get away with whatever they want, now they can murder and get probation? I am just so tired of the deference the rich get in the US….no wonder they think the law doesn’t apply to them when stuff like this happens…people go to jail for stealing food to feed their families and this idiot gets to walk away? He’ll never have to learn any consequences either since he is rich and connected…and will never have to look for a job..or daddies rich cronies will give him one…this is just wrong….geez…
December 13th
Well…it was just another day yesterday and i didn’t really accomplish much…and the 12 degree high for the day just took everything out of me…made me depressed about the whole world and T not feeling well didn’t help…I did sleep okay and there were dreams of breaking my phone in half which was just odd….I did get to cook a ham that I bought yesterday and the addition of some protein to my diet was a good thing but I still feel sluggish without being able to get out on the bike…and now, both elbows have started to hurt and I am just so tired of it…should go take some ibuprofen I guess…not much to do today…should be a pool day but since I am broke, I think I should take a pass…I am tired of being a mooch…more later…

Well…just a short one on the budget that was reached over the past couple of days and all of the cheering that has been done to celebrate it..well..I for one won’t be celebrating since they gave billions more to the military that they just don’t need while taking away extended UE benefits for 1.7 million people…so, what are these people supposed to do, starve? I have had enough of feeding the military machine and the obscene profits that their cronies continue to suck out of this country…when are we going to get our priorities straight? I just don’t blame the repubs..after all, you expect them to screw people…it’s in their nature…but to the dems that are going along I same shame on you…where are your principles? Where is the caring for people like me who just can’t find work in this repub stifled economy? I’ve sent the letter out to my reps to let them know what I think…more people should…geez…
December 12th
Well…it was another long day yesterday and I did get out to see C for a few minutes but couldn’t afford to spend any money so it was water at the bar…kinda weird but I may be able to get used to it…and the lunch with T was canceled since she is not feeling well and I am starting to worry about her…I know the stress from being out of work and the constant knot in the stomach is something I really want to go away….slept okay but I am finding that I no longer can sleep in my left side…just won’t sleep until I shift over and it is really strange since it has never happened before…I did have to spend what little I had in my checking account to buy food since I had cleaned out my freezer and there was just no food left…even without riding the bike I have been losing weight and I know part it is I can’t afford cocktails so that saves a thousand calories a day…I did buy a nice ham today for 11 bucks but that should last me through next week…going to cook that today with the glaze that came with it…haven’t had much protein in the past week so that will be good…not much to do today…going to hibernate with it being 12 degrees outside and no money….more later…

Well…just a shorty on a couple of things…not sure if I am going to comment on this stuff but just pass it on…read the other day that Senator Bernie Sanders is readying legislation to institute a single payer plan for people to get health insurance to cut the insurance companies out of the profits and immediately lower the cost to everyone…this would help in a couple of ways…with a pool that large, it would be easy for the plan to control costs of medical procedures across the country and you wouldn’t have different costs depending on where you live…one example of this is the spread from high to low for an appendectomy…one study showed a cost that ran from 1,000 dollars to 14,000 dollars for comparable cases…and, in Bernies plan, the single player plan would be allowed to negotiate drug prices with the drug companies which could save billions of dollars every year. So, give em hell, Bernie…we need people like you….
December 11th
Well…it was just a normal day yesterday but I did get some cleaning done so that made me feel good…and slept okay last night but no dreams but that is okay…I do like the entertainment value but sometimes it brings up things that I really don’t want to think about…like being broke and it being winter and I’m already tired of it…but, I do need to slide into the endurance mode that gets me through most winters but it is almost too early to do that…not sure if I can do endurance for 4 months..we’ll see…it is kind of funny when I look at my computer and how much I use it…the letters on the keys are starting to wear off and the e and d are gone…I can type without knowing but there are times that brain freeze has me starting at the keyboard and wondering what they are….not much to do today….might have lunch with T and then out for a couple with C later…but, might have to just have water since I am broke again…more later…
Handshakegate….
Well…with the improvement of the ACA website and the spate of good news stories coming out, we just knew that there would be another shiny object that the right and Fox “news” would trot out to keep their rabid followers salivating on how bad Obama is…the latest, as you can see from the snark headline above, is the fact that Obama shook Raul Castro’s hand at the funeral for Mandela. Now, is this the next impeachable offense that the tea partiers will bring to the House? Look, this is one of the stupidist controversies that I can remember the right pushing…well, no, all of them are stupid, but these folks think that no one remembers history anymore…like maybe Nixon shaking Mao’s hand? Or Cheney fawning all all over Saddam? Or Eisenhower shaking Khruschev’s hand? These guys on Fox seem like they just aren’t trying anymore…if you have to gin up a controversy over a handshake, it just means they have nothing…and never have…geez…
