Well…it was an okay day today and I got some real deals at DD today…I mean a half pound of bacon for a buck? Or a 12 oz package of thin sliced mesquite smoked turkey for a buck? Or a 12 oz package of honey ham for a buck? They had their 10 for 10 bucks sale on and I spent 12 bucks on a huge bag of food…even got a package of mixed salami for a buck…pretty good deal…now I need to find room in the freezer for most of it…it didn’t rain while I was running errands this morning so I didn’t have to wash the car…I did get 33 miles in on the bike today but it was more of a struggle than I like…I’ll have to get on the bike early tomorrow to get the miles in before I head out to shoot pool at 1pm…and my friend K might just come for a bit and it would be good to see her since I haven’t seen her in almost two years…and then I can show her the new car, too….I did make the potato salad this aft and the eggs were okay…thought I overcooked the eggs but they were okay…and the red potatoes worked just fine…so again, I have too much food here but that’s okay…haven’t been eating enough and my clothes have started to hang on me…it’s finally raining here and we really need it but there’s nowhere near what they forecast…oh,well…back to reading…
Killing the travel industry…
Well….it’s official, the idiot trump has killed the travel industry in the US…travel to the US from everywhere is down 61%…and it’s all due to the idiot trump and his minions arresting and jailing tourists who are here legally…one woman from England was in jail for 17 days for the crime of coming here and spending her money…an with every country in the world now warning it’s people to not travel to the US, it’s only going to get worse…every airline in the world have cancelled at least half of their flights to the US and that is going to get worse, too and the tourist industry is never going to recover from it…just as his stupid trade policies are re-aligning the world without the US, his stupid immigration policies are going to leave a black hole where tourism used to be…and with it a million jobs will fall into that hole and disappear…when all this stupidity hits the economy, we’ll see a recession for sure…and it’s all idiot boy’s fault…geez…
May 28th
Well…a little bit of good news this morning with the results of the PSA test showing that the cancer hasn’t come back and that is a relief…it’s always hanging over me that one of these times it’s going to show the that the little bit they had to leave behind was going to explode and kill me but not right now…didn’t look at the rest of the tests since it’s not really important to me and there is not anything I can do to change them…slept okay last night but was up at 5:30 again and that is way too damn early but there is nothing I can do about that either…I did get some work done yesterday and now I’m waiting for it to rain to wash the grass seed into the ground and sprout some of it…used 15 bucks of seed yesterday and that is not cheap…I did use the rest of the red potatoes for another batch of potato salad that I need to put together today but I may have overcooked the eggs since I forgot I had them boiling…oh, well…I do need to do the grocery run today but don’t have much on the list so it will be a quick one…if I drive in the rain today I’ll have to wash the car before the run out to Ada to shoot pool tomorrow and I am looking forward to that…need to drive the car more…will turn it over to 50K miles on the run tomorrow but who cares? Not much to do today…need to get on the bike for the indoor ride here in a minute and then get on the grocery run…will have to dance around the rain to get two rides in outdoors but I’m going to try…as always…more later..
Amazon is getting worse…
Well…it looks like Amazon is taking more and more items and putting them out of the reach of free shipping…and I know this since I tried to purchase items that used to be eligible from my buy again page and this time there is no free shipping choice to make…and I had enough items to get over the 35 dollar line that used to be 25 dollars…so now I have another free trial of prime for 30 days and I’ll cancel it before that…I did get a bottle of benadryl allergy meds pretty cheap…600 tablets for 10 bucks and that is a lot cheaper than the red dots I have been using and I bit the bullet and bought more of the generic flonase that I ran out of but really need with how bad the pollen is this year…I did get an indoor and two outdoor rides in along with going out to the north end to have blood drawn for the checkup on June 11th and got a very good phlebotomist who took her time and hit the vein the first time and I barely felt it…no bruising at all and that’s a first for me…then I got out and seeded some of the bare spots in the yard along with putting weed killer on the very front of the yard…so now I’m going to take a break for a bit and go out and see if the results are there for the blood work…
Trump is going to lose again…
Well…it looks like there is another suit that the idiot trump is going to lose and lose big…just today NPR and PBS stations across the country sued the idiot for violating the first amendment as he attacks any news outlet the print or reports the truth about his criminal behavior…he even tried to fire the heads of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting even though the CPB is an independent entity that he has no power over…this is how stupid this moron is…he thinks the president can reach into corporations and fire people he doesn’t like…and that is the definition of fascism and ignoring the constitution…and he does this every damn day…and when the history of his criminality is written, all of the repubs that are supposed to part of the checks and balances that are written into the constitution will be exposed as the criminal enablers they are…geez…

Well…that was a little better…still up at 5:14 though and didn’t really get back to sleep until I dragged myself out of bed around 6…just poured the first cup of coffee and need to get on the bike by 7 or so…not really…7:30 would be okay since I only need to get in the car to run out to get blood drawn at 9 or so…and it looks like it will be warm enough to put the top down…and it will be the first time I’ve driven since last week’s grocery run and I really should get out more…after I get back I’ll get started on getting two rides in outdoors and then I do need to seed the bare spots on the lawn to take advantage of the rain coming in tomorrow…I may even be able to open the windows today since it’s supposed to be 77 for the high…I did make a good stir fry yesterday and used a Kung Pao sauce to add flavor that I can still barely taste…only had one meal yesterday and no high fat foods since I need to get my cholesterol down for the blood draw today…but this aft I’ll have a smoked brat but then counter that with the stir fry that is 90% veggies…need to get the grocery list done for the run tomorrow and may buy more chicken breasts since they are so versatile but I do have enough to make some Masala already so I probably should make that in a few days….more later…
Feeling lazy today…
Well…after getting three rides in for 33 miles today, I’m feeling pretty lazy today and didn’t even feel like making lunch…I should have gone out and seeded bare spots in the lawn but I guess that can wait til tomorrow…I did wash the bike after the third ride today and need to go out later and re-lube it and do the chain…and probably should check the air pressure, too, since I haven’t done that in a month or so and probably should check the air in the car tires…and that will be enough for today…talked to my brother today and he was surprised I haven’t been out to just drive the new car around and I guess I am, too…but I’m trying to not spend any money and get my cash supplies rebuilt after buying the car…it’s an excuse I know but inertia is hard to overcome at times…I did skip lunch today but will make chicken stir fry with rice later so that will make up for it…okay, need to get off my butt…
It’s going to smack them in the face…
Well…how the hell did the rural maga folks get so stupid? The people they voted into office are passing bills that are going to smack them right in the face…the budget bill that the repubs have passed by one vote will result in the closing of hundreds of rural hospitals as the cuts to Medicaid that is keeping them open bite…and the cuts to Snap or food stamps is going to starve a lot of them…and I know I have been reveling in the fact that they did this to themselves…but with the cuts coming to Medicare it is going to hurt every one of the 70+ million retirees who depend on it to stay alive…in my personal case, I don’t how I could have paid for the 77K that my cancer surgery cost without Medicare…oh, and lets add in the job losses that are coming from the stupid tariffs that are going to hit the working poor the hardest…like those at Walmart where 20,000 jobs are going away…and in most rural communities, Walmart is the biggest employer and there just aren’t any other jobs…and now there won’t be any safety net to help these folks…the latest research shows that maga folks voted their hate and not any economic concerns…and now the hate is coming to bite them in the ass…geez…
May 26th
Well…it’s the end of May and the heat is still on and that makes it 9 days it’s been on…and it looks like that’s going to continue into June and I’ve never seen that before…the way it’s going, it’s never going to get warm enough to go to the beach this year and that sucks…really having a hard time getting going today and need to get on the bike by 7am but then the question comes..why? It’s going to be warm enough to get outdoors on the bike by 9am or so but it will still be in the 50’s so I’ll be in shorts but layered on top…need to go out to the lab and get blood drawn tomorrow morning for my June 11th checkup and I’m holding my breath again that the PSA test comes back negative and that will make almost two years of being cancer free…with losing my sense of taste, I looked at my tongue in the mirror yesterday and noticed it has a white coating on it and that is something the I’ll raise in the checkup in a couple of weeks…I wonder it it’s fungal infection? It would be nice to find something to give me my sense of taste back…life is so bland without taste…not much to do today…just the rides, cooking and then some yard work…want to get some grass seed in before it rains on Wed to try to start getting the bare spots filled in….more later…
Halfway through…
Well…as you’ve probably seen, I don’t think I’ll be doing a political one today…the races are halfway over and I have one indoor and one outdoor ride in and I’m going back out for a second ride after Indy ends since it finally got warm enough to not freeze my butt off…it’s even over 60 now so I’ll be able to go out in a t-shirt and shorts…and then get back here for the Coke 600 at 6pm…I do have to come up with meals for tomorrow and I think I’m going to make a big batch of stir fry chicken and rice and then use the brats I got this week for the second meal…and that will be meals for 6 days so I won’t have to plan again for a while…probably Masala next weekend…okay…need to do the weight work and watch the race…
