Well…damn tired of talking about the idiot trump so let’s talk about Ukraine…wow, did they just make old putin look like the fraud he is by invading Russia? The Ukrainian army now holds over 1,000 square miles of Russian territory and are taking more every day…now, I didn’t see this one coming at all since the illegal invasion had stalled and there was not much more than the grind it out to take a few yards here or there…the last time this happened, Ukraine took back a large chunk of it’s own land with what is called maneuver warfare that they are really good at and what NATO equipment is built for…one thing I want to contrast is what the 75 towns look like that the Ukrainians captured…the only damage being what Russia caused by throwing glide bombs at the UK army…Ukraine didn’t shell or bomb the towns into dust like Russia does…they are even killing their own citizens in the captured territory as they try to push Ukraine out…and hundreds of Russian soldiers are surrendering since it it the only way they can avoid being killed in the “meat waves” that are Russia’s favorite tactics…and one commenter that I read this morning pointed out that the Russian soldiers are better treated as POW’s than they are by their own commanders…I found that funny since it’s true…where will this eventually go? Not sure but you have to admire the guts and smarts the Ukrainians are showing….
Went to the beach…
Well…yeah, I know I’m late for my political one for the day but I went to the beach to get a swim in and I did get burned with being out there the normal amount of time and the only sunscreen was what I put on for the rides that started at 9:30…oh, well…it’s not too bad so I can live with it…there was no way I was going to go the rest of the summer without swimming…and it’s 84 out here and it’s going to rain tomorrow through Sat so it had to be today…I did get 3-2lb packages of ham at DD today for 2.49 each so that should be enough for a while…2 will go in the freezer and I think I’ll make a hot ham and Swiss for dinner and finish off the potato salad…..okay…I need to go read some news to get a topic idea…more later…
August 14th
Well…man, I’m worn out this morning with getting up at 5:30 and not sleeping well at all…need to get on the indoor bike here in 15 minutes to get the first ride in before I do the grocery run…thinking about mowing the lawn today but that won’t be til the afternoon…damn, my brain is not working today…it looks like we’re getting some rain tomorrow and Friday but I’m not holding my breath for it…it’s going to be in the 80’s today but then falling into the 70’s for a week or so…not really August weather in Michigan…I remember it being hot when I was younger…it’s only 57 right now but I am going to put the top down on the car for the grocery run…trying to choke the coffee down to get my brain jumpstarted before I get on the bike but it’s more work than it looks…I do have lots of work to do around here today with laundry and cleaning the couch and then we’ll see about doing more…okay, I need to get going…more later….
An easy day…again…
Well…after a terrible first ride, I got the other two in and then didn’t do much the rest of the day but make some soup…and I kind of needed that…have just been feeling really worn out and that didn’t go away until about 8 miles into the first ride…it may have been the toast and peanut butter I had before I went out that did it so I really do need to eat more…but I didn’t today with just a dog and potato salad for lunch and the a bowl of soup for dinner…I don’t know what damage always living on the knife edge of under eating does but I do know it doesn’t feel right…oh, well…I do need to do the grocery run tomorrow and I’ll probably mow the lawn since it’s supposed to rain for three days in a row starting Thurs and it will be too long if I wait until Sun…I am going to stop at DD tomorrow since they have brown sugar ham on sale for 1.25 a pound and I have room in the freezer…may get three packages for 6 pounds and that will last me quite a while…and aldis has chicken legs for 89 cents a pound so I may get some of those, too…okay, want to go back to reading….

Well…if you didn’t already know that the main stream media in this country is in the tank for the idiot trump, I’ve got an example that should put this to rest…you remember back in 2016 when Hillary and the DNC were hacked and as soon as the papers like the NYT and the Post got copies of them, it was the only story they ran for almost two months before the election and not once mentioned the ethics of printing them…fast forward to today when it was revealed that the idiot’s campaign was hacked and thousands of e-mails stolen…now, have you read anything about them? Have you seen them printed in the media at all? No you haven’t…the major news orgs have had all of it for almost three weeks and are trying to let the story die and theya re covering it up by blathering about the “ethics” of printing them…I wonder what they would do if the Harris/Walz campaign was hacked? No, I really don’t…they would print them as fast as the electrons could speed through the internet and that’s why H/W should avoid the media like the plague and just talk to the people and make the media report on them doing it…all they are going to do is attack them anyway sine the media is so biased…geez…
August 13th
Well…isn’t August in Michigan supposed to be hot and sticky with windows open? I guess not with it 59 degrees out here right now and only one more day of 80’s then down in the 70’s for the rest of the month…August is supposed to be hottest month but I’ve had this place closed up for a couple of days now…strange…going to get on the bike as soon as it gets light here and I should make some toast to eat before I go…was dizzy on the bike yesterday and I know it’s from not eating enough but I can’t taste anything so it’s hard to eat…maybe some pasta today? Don’t have a lot to do today but I should clean some and get the recipes out to see what I can make from the canned goods I have here…the little weather widget says “very humid” and that is normal for August in Michigan but not 58 degrees…I’ll stop talking about the weather now….okay…I need to get going…more later…
Good thing the Olympics are over…
Well…it really is a good thing that the Olympics are over…two weeks of getting nothing done ended as the sports ended and I got the back door frame scraped and painted today…I did get a little scorched even though I put the 100 sunscreen on before I started…but that is now done and just in time with the EPL starting up Friday with Man U playing Fulham and that will take up a lot of time… as I watch as many of the matches that I can…I really hope they play better this year…haven’t really kept up on the changes that happened in the transfer window and I really hope they’ve added some players that can score…I am going to take it a little easier since I’m almost up to 6,300 miles on the bike that leaves only 800 left to go for the goal…was really dizzy on the bike on the third ride and I know it’s from not eating enough but it’s harder than it looks to get over 1,000 calories a day…oh, well…have been cleaning out the freezer so I have room to buy some 89 cents a pound chicken legs at Aldis to grill…have been thinking about a porterhouse steak but damn, 15-20 dollars for one steak? Nope, just can’t do it…I have some burger in the freezer that I can take out I guess…oh, well…
Melting down in front of the world…
Well…with the huge crowd sizes everywhere that Harris/Walls pulls in on the campaign trail, the idiot trump is melting down in front of the world because he is being beaten by a black woman…he even went on his loser’s social site to claim there was no one at the rally in Detroit where over 15,000 people showed up for our side…and his brain rotting so quickly that he said Kamala “AI’d” the people in photographs because the reflection of the people didn’t show up on her “shiny” plane…he is just so dam dim that he couldn’t figure out the plane was almost 100 yards away and there would be no reflection from the perspective of the cameras…and when asked why he’s not out campaigning the deluded idiot said “I’m way ahead” when his best poll shows him even in NC and behind everywhere else and we’re not even getting started yet…so, keep it up idiot…just keep doing just what you’re doing…and you’ll be gone on November 6th…geez…
August 12th
Well…damn, my knees hurt this morning and I wonder if it’s from riding too much? My elbows and back hurt, too, so I’m not sure what’s going on…slept okay last night and was only up once about 3am and didn’t get out of bed until a little after 6 and that has become pretty normal…I did take one idler sprocket off the bike to clean it yesterday but the other one has a stripped head so I couldn’t take it our so I guess I’ll just have to endure the vibration through the pedals…I did get three rides in yesterday but I may just do two today to give myself a little rest…I am going to work on the back door frame today and may even get it painted since it’s not going to rain until Thurs….my son fixed the streaming service he runs yesterday and it works better than ever so that is cool…and just in time since the EPL starts this weekend and I need to watch Man U play…still pretty cool out there at 60 degrees but it’s getting toward the more normal 80’s this afternoon…this has been a cool August when it normally gets into the 90’s at least once…not much to do today…I am going to take the rest of the garden out since the broccoli never flowered and has stopped growing…a wasted year…oh, well…more later…
Skywriting…
Well…when I got back from the third ride today I heard a plane buzzing around overhead, looked up and saw it was a skywriter advertising for the airshow that is going on this week out here…he actually did write “airshow” and he followed it up with a heart and smiley faces…looked like he was practicing for the show later in the week…can’t remember the last time I saw that…and then a C-47 flew over pretty low…there is nothing that sounds like an air cooled radial engine and I hope to get a photo of it this week…didn’t do a damn thing but the bike rides and weight work today so I’ll have to get off my butt tomorrow and get the back door frame ready to paint…think I’ll only do two rides to manage my sun exposure and give my body a small rest…my whole body was flat this morning and the rides were too much damn work…
