Well…up at about the same time as always this morning…okay, that’s not true…I wake up at weird times all the time but today it was around 6 or so…there is a nice breeze blowing through here right now and it looks like it’s not going to be light before the rain comes in so I’ll be doing the first ride downstairs today….we might even get a little storm and that would be cool…had the feeling that it was Saturday when I got up and that has been going on all week…with no routine the days just run together…I forgot to take food out of the freezer so I’m not sure what I’ll be eating today…maybe some pasta? Or a hot ham and cheese sandwich? Should probably look right now and get something thawing…man, it would be easy to just hit BK for a burger and fries but that would break my string of 4 years of no fast food…I just want to sit here and watch for rain to quote Pink Floyd….the sky here is golden as the sun comes up but my camera won’t capture it…oh, well…not much to do today…I am so tired of being damp with the humidity and I hope the rain will change that soon…I am going to sit here for a half hour and have more coffee and watch F1 practice…more later…
Blocked drains..
Well…when I got up this morning, I found that my bathroom sink drain was completely blocked and drain cleaner wouldn’t touch it…so after the second ride, I went out to depot to pick up a small drain auger and found a nice one for 30 bucks…to get at the pipes I had to remove the trap under the bathroom sink and found that the clog was right there so I didn’t need the auger…15 minutes later I had it cleaned and put back together with the stopper adjusted right so it opens as it’s supposed to…have had problems with that drain since I bought this place but now I think it’s solved permanently and I saved the 30 bucks I spent on the auger so I can return it next week…I did get the last of the lawn food applied to take advantage of the rain that is supposed to come tomorrow morning…okay, need to do the weight work…Oh, when I was at my water stop on the last ride, an old gentleman sat down to ask where the “beach loop” was that he saw on the signs so I showed him since I ride it every day…he was looking for a place to do rehab walks for some knee problems he is having…we had a nice chat and it was cool to talk to anyone with my self imposed covid isolation going on…
Above the law?
Well…as anyone knows, the idiot trump thinks he is above the law and the Arlington incident where he and his team actually broke federal law by filming a campaign ad in the cemetery…and the excuse the army is using to justify just letting him get away with it is that the female attendant who was assaulted by one of trump’s assholes doesn’t want to press charges because she fears attacks from trump’s thugs…now, this is just wrong…they still broke the law and it would still be a crime that should be prosecuted even if she wasn’t there…after all, the evidence they broke the law has already been turned into an ad and posted to the internet…and since when is it a private citizen’s responsibility to enforce the law? I sure hope the military trumpers let this one soak in and makes them think about just who they are still supporting…idiot boy truly is the worst person in the world…geez…
August 29th
Well…damn, I hurt everywhere this morning and I think this may be an ibuprofen morning…really don’t like to do that but I’ve been using too much voltaren to try to make it thought the rides…I did get three rides in yesterday and I’m gradually heading to the goal that I’ll hit in a week and a half or so if I keep up the 38 miles a day…didn’t get anything done yesterday but cooking but I need to feed the lawn to take advantage of the rain that is coming tomorrow and use up the leftover food…then I won’t feed it again until the fall food goes on in October…I really do need to clean the kitchen today, too, since the sinks are getting pretty bad and the prep table is too…and that will lead into the bathroom but with how humid it’s been they would never dry…but the weather is changing over the weekend down into the 70’s and that should help…I do need to order the parts to rebuild the bike and I have enough cash back on my capitol one card to cover it so all the parts will be free…and I’m going to order a new set of earbuds since the ones I’m using are getting pretty old…I should make a list of the things I need so I don’t miss anything…not much to do today…just need to get started on the bike as soon as it gets light in a half hour and then take it from there…more later…

Well…I wrote about the lawbreaking photo op that the idiot trump did at Arlington NS and the disrespect he showed those buried in the cemetery by giving a thumbs up over the headstone of one of the fallen soldiers…but it is even worse than that…it has been reported that the people trump had with him pushed and bullied a cemetery employee who tried to keep them out of the restricted area…now, in any normal time in this country’s history, this crap would have ended his campaign but nope, the media gives him a pass even when disrespecting our fallen soldiers…but we know he hates the military and has said so many times…and that, too, should be disqualifying but trump gets away with the bullshit since the major media want him to win to keep the rage clicks and money coming in…I just hate that asshole…geez..
August 28th
Well…another night of not much sleep but I was able to stay in bed until almost 6…still pretty worn out and I’m wavering on riding indoors to start the day…if I do, I need to get going in 10 minutes or so and I just poured the first cup of coffee so the math doesn’t work out…I do need to do the grocery run today but just at Meijers and Aldis…no deals at DD today…I’m under 300 miles to get to my goal on the bike for the year so I guess a 25 mile day wouldn’t hurt too much…I’m not sure what the post goal riding is going to look like but I do know I need to cut calories if I cut back on riding…but how do I do that when I’m already under 1,500 calories for the day? One less ride would mean taking 600 calories out and I can’t live on 900 calories a day…oh, well…it only got down to 72 last night but the weather is going to change with highs down into the 70’s next week…and lows back in the 40 to near 50…I just want the humidity to drop…tired of being damp all the time…not much to do today…just the grocery runs and rides but I do need to cook today…have some chicken thighs marinating but I’m not sure if I’m going to grill or not…more later…
Went to the beach…
Well…after getting the work done yesterday, I had an afternoon off today so I decided to go out to the beach since it was so damn hot and humid…and I wanted to try out the repairs I made to my beach chair…and they worked but I think I’m going to re web it over the winter since the frame is so sturdy…not like the new ones that are flimsy and weak…will probably cost me 40 bucks to do it and a lot of drilling for the screws but it might be a fun project…and I’ll change it from the small jelly plastic to a more standard 3 inch webbing…I did get some color in my hands since I didn’t have any sunscreen on them along with my face to get rid of the raccoon eyes from my sunglasses…don’t think I’ll need aloe sine I was only out there for an hour and a half…the water appeared cold the first time I stepped into it but once I got in, it felt okay and I played in the water for a half hour…it might be my last time for the summer so that was a little bittersweet…but, we’ll see…

Well…with the one presidential debate coming up, the idiot trump is threatening every day to drop out of it with reasons like how the microphones will be operated and by idiot boy saying that Kamala is “too stupid” to debate…with an insult like that, let’s remember what one of idiot boy’s professors said: “donald trump is the dumbest person I’ve ever taught”…look, they have trump boxed in on the debate…if he does it, Kamala will shred him and he loses the election…if he backs out, the ads will write themselves saying he was too scared to debate and that’s not what we need in in a commander in chief….on other thing I wanted talk about is the photo op of idiot boy laying a wreath at Arlington Nation Cemetery…first it was a political operation which are not allowed there and whoever approved it should be fired…but it was just so cringy having the idiot stand there and fake caring at all about the military and the giving a thumbs up over the graves of fallen soldiers…what an insensitive asshole…geez…
August 27th
Well…I wouldn’t wish that night of sleep on anyone…tossed and turned from 11 til 2, got up for a bit to watch for the storms coming in, laid back down til 4, up again then out of bed for good 5:32…and I must have slept with pressure on my eye since I can barely see clearly this morning…I am so darn worn out today after that…so I started the coffee early and I’m pouring it down and hope it works soon…it never got under 75 again last night and it’s supposed to be almost 90 again today…the heat index got up to 105 yesterday and it will probably be higher than that today since it’s so humid right now with the rain…we did get some good rain overnight and it lasted a little more than an hour and I’ll take it…the lawn was crackling when I mowed it yesterday and even this rain isn’t going to do much for it…I’m thinking of only doing two rides today so I can go out to the beach for one last time this summer and try to get a swim in…the water has to have gained 30 degrees over the past week and I’m not sure if that’s possible…I did get the front porch clean3d up and fixed yesterday and need to start thinking about replacing it in the next couple of years and I may expand it to make it more like a deck…but that will cost 3-4 grand and I’m not sure I want to spend it…we’ll see…not much to do today…just two rides and the beach but I still have an hour before it gets light and I can get on the bike…more later…
Busy again…
Well…one of these days I’m going to stop complaining about how busy I am all the time…it sure doesn’t feel like I’m retired other than I don’t go somewhere to work every day…started out by getting three rides in by 10:30, then mowing the lawn…then I discovered some loose stair treads on the front porch and drilled and screwed them back down…when I was doing that, I noticed that the algae was taking over the flat surfaces again and the door mat so I scrubbed the mat with a scrub brush and dish soap…then I got out the deck cleaner and washed the flat surfaces that were green and I’ll re treat them with Thompsons water seal tomorrow…then I put a load of laundry in, did three of these and now it’s 2:30pm and I am done for the day…now you see what the title said…busy again…oh, well…
