Filled the trash bin…

Well…I finally got started on the boxes around here and cut a bunch of them down and filled the trash bin with them…so I can have them picked up and get this place emptied so my daughter won’t have to do it when I’m gone….and I ran my shredder for an hour getting rid of bank statements, medicare updates, and all of the rest of the stuff you’re supposed to…and I did get out to pick up 5 more books for this week and I had to get bagels and cream cheese from aldis since I ran out….I was going to do yard work but I didn’t get the rides done until after noon and I will have them done tomorrow by 9:30am so that will work better…I did get some other cleaning done today and I’m going to keep that up tomorrow, too, again to get this place stripped down to bare just in case I die quickly…I so have to get under the car this week to find the clutch slave cylinder and bleed it…once I do that I’ll start thinking about doing an oil change with the two gallons of oil that came with the car…it need to have all the sand removed, too, so I have lots to get done this week…but right now it’s reading time…

Blue states need to band together…

Well…with all of the bullshit going on in this country caused by the incompetent asshole repubs in DC like gutting the CDC and getting rid of vaccines, I see something cool happening where the blue states are banding together to go their own way to protect their citizens….just last week California, Oregon, and Washington state announced an agreement to ensure that their states citizens can still get the covid and other vaccines that have been shown to be safe and effective and have saved millions of lives…and Newsom said this: “we will ensure our residents remain protected by science not politics”…and the same thing is happening in blue states on the east coast with rumbling of a national blue state compact too, so the kinds of things that help people like expansion of Medicaid and protection of Medicare and SS can happen…the time has passed when we listened to the idiots running this country and just sat by while they made the country worse…it’s time for action and right now…geez…

September 8th

Well…damn, it’s only 40 degrees out there so my schedule has to change and I won’t be on the bike until after the library run…so I’ve got a lot of time to kill since it’s only 6:30…will be back in jeans this morning and I can’t remember the last time that happened in September….up at about 6 this morning and I think I slept okay but still no dreams to speak of and that sucks…might have to grind some beans for more coffee since the pot was low today…I finally found the long sleeved shirt that I was missing tucked into a tote in the closet yesterday and I wonder how it ended up in there….sure don’t remember putting it in there and I looked for it for weeks…weird…didn’t get much done yesterday but today is going to be figuring out meals for the week…don’t have much in the freezer or fridge but I do have two containers of soup so I think I’ll take one out of the freezer…I do have two ham bones so I can make a batch of ham soup in the instant pot so maybe I’ll jut do that…or maybe wait til I use one more container…not much to do today…going to ease into it with how cold it is and that is going to be hard…oh, well….

Finished the books…

Well…just finished the 4th book that I got Thursday so I’ll have to do another no reading evening today…back to the library tomorrow for 5 more and I’m just about out of the James Patterson novels and I don’t know what I’ll do next…I did get two rides in and for the first time ever, I saw two freighters passing each other in Muskegon Lake…pretty cool…other than that, this was just another boring day of races and football in a few minutes…it’s going to get a little warmer for a week of so and back into the 70’s for 10 days or so and then dropping into the 50’s and 60’s and down from there…I’m pretty happy hat the furnace came on with no problem so I’m good to go for the fall…will get a new filter this week since this place is dusty and I’m sure it’s pretty plugged…I’ll probably get two so I’ll have a spare…okay…the Lions start right now so I’m going to watch that…

Lets look at facts…

Well…sitting here waiting for the F1 race to start after getting the first ride in and thought I’d pass on some facts I just read in an article I read on Kos…first since the end of the cold war, 50 million of 52 million jobs created happened in dem presidencies…middle class families in California pay less in taxes than in red states…California pays in 81 billion dollars in taxes while Texas takes 71 billion dollars…California is #1 in manufacturing, farming, new business starts, tech investments, and in public higher education…California has some of the strictest gun laws in the US and has a 43% lower gun death rate than the rest of the country…and the repubs are distracting the country with culture wars since they are failing on health, wealth, and the economy as they always do…so the next time you hear that red states are more successful that blue ones, just recite these facts back to them…every damn red state is a welfare queen and their politics are a failure for regular people….geez…

September 7th

Well….I think I’m a little weird when I woke up today to the furnace running for the first time since April and I found that comforting…this has been a really reliable house since I bought it 4 1/2 years ago…going into the wind yesterday has left me pretty sore all over today but I’ll be back out there when it gets light…I’ll be in long pants today with the temp only 44 out there right now and it won’t get much warmer before I go out…but it’s going to get warmer over the next 10 days and we’ll be in the 70’s starting tomorrow…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I’m going to try to clean the kitchen today and finish up the last book…and the Lions play and there are races on so I’ll need to get one ride in before 9, then watch the F1 race, then back out for the 2nd ride so I have a plan for the day…but first, coffee and a bagel with cream cheese…I sure hope the wind is not blowing 20+ like yesterday…it says the wind is blowing out of the NW at 13 and I’ll take that…more later…

Book discipline…

Well…I’ve finally gotten some book discipline and have an unfinished book that I put down and watched some sports instead today…it was kind of strange to just do one thing this afternoon instead of multitasking and reading while I have sports on in the background…we’ll see how long that lasts…I did get two rides in with the wind still blowing 20 today and going into it I hurt my left thigh that is throbbing right now and I think I aggravated my left knee that I hurt in a crash a couple of weeks ago…and some idiot didn’t look and almost did the same thing by turning right in front of me as he tried to turn around…now, I’d never even change lanes without looking but this moron did and I damn near t-boned him…idiots…so I did eat two meals today…breakfast for lunch, and then a pork loin fillet with some fries…I won’t be buying any more of those since the price is up 100%, going from 99 cents each to 1.99…if food keeps going up like it is, I won’t be able to afford food in a few months…even DD’s prices have doubled lately so I haven’t gone there in 3 weeks…and even my coffee beans on Amazon went from around 14 bucks to almost 20 for an almost 50% rise….and I blame it all on the idiot trump and his stupid tariffs…back to soccer…

Poor farmers…

Well…I know I’ve talked about this before but damn, farmers are a bunch of dumb hypocrites who are now reaping the rewards from the idiot trump’s economic stupidity…and now since the tariffs are killing access to markets across the world, they whine that they need to be bailed out or they will go out of business..even though this is what they voted for…do they think they are special? More special than those with student loan debt that trump killed the relief from…more special than the hungry families who are being kicked off food stamps…more special than the cancer researchers who lost their funding…more special than the rural hospitals that are going to close with the cuts to Medicaid? You get the picture…why the hell should blue states pony up more cash to bail out these trump voting assholes? They shouldn’t…that is why we got the 2nd term of idiot boy…there were no consequences for voting for him so I say let these farmers go broke…it’s what they deserve after all….geez…

September 6th

Well…up and moving a little before 6 this morning and I’m pretty beat  but the coffee should help with that after I get some of it in me…I can still hear the wind out there but it’s supposed to be down to 10 to 20 today so I’ll be heading out as soon as it gets light…I wonder if I need to do 3 rides today to make up for yesterday? Nope…I needed a light day and I didn’t gain 5 pounds from it so I can live with it…it’s a no leftover day today so I need to cook and I took some bacon out of the freezer so I can make breakfast for lunch and a blt for later…and I have breaded pollock fillets with fries for fish and chips for tomorrow…and I think I have pasta sauce to make some pasta for Monday…digging deep in the freezer now but I still have two containers of soup in there and two ham bones to make more ham soup this week…still have a book and a half to read before Monday but I don’t think I have enough to get through the weekend…oh, well…not much to do today…need to get the rides in by 9 and the math doesn’t work for that…it’s still dark and will be for the next hour and that will make me late for the MotoGP sprint race at 9…more later…

Way too easy of a day…

Well…the wind has been blowing like crazy out here all day from 30 to 50mph but that didn’t stop me from trying to get a bike ride in this morning…and I did try but only got about 5 miles out before a gust hit and I pulled something in my neck…so I turned around and almost didn’t have to pedal coming back…so only a 10 mile day and that is the lowest this year…I could have gone downstairs but the bike needs maintenance before I can use it so I’ll get on that tomorrow just in case…and I can try out my new rechargeable compressor that I bought for the car…after I got back here all I did was read and that was nice but I’m already working on the 3rd book since Thursday so it looks like I’ll have some no reading time Sunday afternoon…oh, well…and I think I’ll go back to reading right now for an hour or so…

What you never want to be….
