Well…Damn, this is getting annoying…another 4:51 morning but I feel okay and I think I can live with it…until I can’t….I’ve been watching the rain coming for two days now and it appears it’s going to fall apart before it gets here…that sucks since we really do need the rain….so that means I’ll be out on the bike as soon as it gets light to get one ride in before the F1 race from Monza….and then maybe the rain will get here and I’ll have the rest of the day off to watch football and races….didn’t get anything done yesterday and I may start on the bathroom door and frame today but who knows? I did try the pork ribs I got the other day and they are pretty good…at least worth the 1.19 a pound I paid for them and I’ll have another slab today along with a big salad for dinner…with only one ride today, I’ll have to cut back the food I eat a bit but just doing the salad for dinner should cover that…I was so sore from the waist down on the bike yesterday and I can’t figure that out…my right thigh has been sore all summer but this was different….my back, hips, and even my achilles all hurt and that may be just from the fatigue from doing 4300 miles so far this year…it doesn’t look like I’m going to get to 6050 this year for a new record but that’s okay…just haven’t felt like doing the 45 to 60 mile runs that it would take to get there…after all, I’m getting old but there is more to it than that…losing all motivation doesn’t help and it has been a struggle all summer…it’s become less fun and I don’t know what I’ll do when I get so bored with it that I don’t want to ride at all….I guess we’ll see….not much to do today…just need to get on the bike here in a minute and then hope the rain comes to make the second ride decision moot…more later…
They are getting close…
Well…I know a lot of you are just as frustrated as I am that the idiot trump has not been indicted yet but I think we all need to take a deep breath and take a look at what is known about the multiple cases against him that are meandering through the justice system…not only the theft of government documents (and the probable sale of them)…the election interference in Georgia is still moving with the court ruling that Lindsey Graham has to testify in front of the grand jury and the governor and others who have already testified just recently so that information needs to be incorporated into any indictment but it is moving…oh, and let’s remember that his former number 2 in the trump organization has recently flipped so they will get a lot of info from him that will be used for any indictment of trump…then we have as a part of the January 6th investigation the fake electors scheme that just had a bunch of new subpoenas go out the end of the week so that is moving forward, too…so, as much as we want to see idiot boy perp walked, let’s not lose hope…oh, one last thing, a video has just surfaced that showed trump and his minions moving a boatload of boxes out of his tacky Florida club right after the subpoena was filed for the records he stole….so, as I said earlier, every damn property of his should be searched, especially since the DOJ is sure he still has records he stole that were not found in Florida…so get on it DOJ…this should have happened yesterday….geez…
September 10th
Well…damn, straight to coffee this morning with not getting out of bed til 7:19 and it is strange getting out of the normal routine…need to get out on the bike in the next ten minutes if I’m going to be done before F1 qualifying at 10….so this whole morning is going to be a rush and I need to get going…had an okay day yesterday with the last beach day but I was exhausted all day and that is the reason I stayed in bed so late this morning…and that may happen again tomorrow with the rain that is coming in…I may even have a day off and I think my body could use that….so damn sore and nothing will help that other than rest…I did get the ribs in a marinade last night and I am looking forward to trying some of them…and I need to make a big salad for the second meal today with the head of lettuce that has been in the fridge since last week…would hate to see it go bad before I use it…and I have tomatoes that need to be used so I may even just slice a few up and use the new hot sauce I’m starting to like a lot….not much to do today…need to get going right now if I’m going to meet my schedule for the day but I don’t feel like it….sure wish it would rain right now….more later…
I did get to the beach…
Well…I did get out to the beach for the last time today and this time I mean it…I need to get going on this place again so I’ll have it finished before I die….the beach was nearly empty and the water was still warm enough to get a swim in but it was a short one since the wind was really making the water a mixmaster with a big rip running across the beach that almost knocked me down a few times and it has scoured out some foot deep holes that I kept stepping in which didn’t help…so I made it a short day since I had planned to take a nap this afternoon to make up for the lack of sleep over the past few days but that didn’t happen since I can’t even sleep when I’m exhausted…oh, well…so tomorrow the work starts on the bathroom door and frame and I need to put the hinges in the stripper for a couple of days so I can clean them up and paint them black like the ones I did for my bedroom…will get all my gear up here and into the second bedroom since that is going to be my work room for a while until I start in there….but not now…just going to veg it out and take it easy the rest of the night….
Going to the beach….
Well…I think I’m going to the beach here in a minute so I won’t have a political one until around 2:30…still not sure what it will be about since I have had a topic dry spell lately…maybe Ukraine? There have been some developments over the past two days that are just stunning and Russia is getting it’s butt kicked all over the country…so I better not talk any more about that right now or I’ll use up what I know…crap, might just as well do it now…over the past two days, Ukraine has been just running over the Russians there and have gained almost 2,000 square kilometers of it’s land back from the invaders and it appears that they are still going today….capturing loads of Russian equipment and soldiers and putting almost 50 villages back into Ukraine’s hands….and it appears that some Russians are making a run for it, abandoning it’s fortified positions…all this after the war has really been in a stalemate for months with very little happening…I wonder if this could be the beginning of the end for Russia there? I guess you’re not so scary of an army when you have to buy equipment from frickin North Korea? Yep, artillery shells and rockets from NK since Russia can’t make them anymore with the sanctions cutting them off from the technology they need….so, I have my fingers crossed that Ukraine can keep this up and decimate the war criminals…good job there Putin…geez…
September 9th
Well…crap, up at 5:07 this morning and that makes about 7 hours of sleep total for the past two days and I know that’s not enough…but I really don’t know what to do about it….part of it might be I had to make a noise call last night since the idiot with the gold truck was sitting two houses down thumping his bullshit music for two hours and I just wasn’t going to tolerate it anymore….but it was the first call I’ve had to make in the past month so it’s been better up here….and they finally showed up while he was doing it and I think he got the fine he deserved….about time….I did get the 10 pounds of pork broken down and into the freezer yesterday and that fills it for a month or so…and it was all meat and no rib bones so I think it was worth the buck ten a pound I paid for it…not sure if I’m going to marinate it or not but I probably should and then slather it with Bullseye after it’s cooked…and I can use it for a pork stir fry next week….it is a pain waking up before the coffee starts and then having to wait for it to brew….not much to do today…might go to the beach for the last time today but what I really want to do is take a nap….but that won’t happen….so I’m going to be pretty worn out all day….it does look like I’m going to have some time off Sunday with the rain that is coming in and I think I can use it….didn’t eat enough yesterday and that is going to make the bike ride a chore this morning….but I still feel like I’m gaining weight again so that has to happen….more later….
Weird how eating works…
Well…it’s been quite a busy day for me today and I feel pretty good…it’s weird how eating enough works for that…but, I’m going right back to just having one meal today…or a normal meal of a pork chop and some onion rings and one of just tomatoes and a few tortilla chips…the day started out with two good bike rides and then I just couldn’t resist running an errand to pick up a 10 pound box of Smithfield ribs for 12 bucks…or rib pieces that were just placed in a plastic bag and frozen into a block of pork that is going to take a couple of days to thaw just to break them down for the freezer…they do look like they are pretty lean so I can’t wait to give them a try over the weekend….after I did lunch, I did have to go out to the beach for an hour and a half and got some sun and a swim in…then back here to make another batch of pasta salad since I had celery that was going bad that had to be used and I like having a container to make my meals easier….so, it has been a bit of a busy day and now I am going to relax and watch a little of the Man U match in the Europa league….
Steve Bannon is going to jail…
Well….I sit here with a smile on my face since Steve Bannon just surrendered to the cops in NYC facing a slew of felony charges from stealing money from his fake build the wall pac…and this greasy little grifter faces 15 years in a NY state prison after he was pardoned for the same crimes by the mega grifter trump that were brought by the feds…but he is not going to get away with it this time…and this punk who is responsible for most of what trump has done to this country is now going to find himself in an orange jumpsuit for 15 years and I truly do hope he dies in prison so we don’t have to listen to his toxic bullshit anymore…now any DA out there, do his boss next…and the news just came out that they are investigating trump for exactly the same crimes from grifting a 100 million bucks from his stupid followers and lying about what the money was going to be used for and then just taking it…so maybe there will be some good news on that front in the next weeks…geez…
Queen Elizabeth has died…
Well…not sure if this has anything to do with anything but Queen Elizabeth died today at the age of 96…now you know I’m a huge anglophile and love the British people and culture and the queen was a huge part of that…and she has been the only sovereign that I have known since she was crowned the year I was born and has always been there…and her line went all the way back to William the Conqueror and 1066….so an era ends and a new one of King Charles begins….RIP…
September 8th
Well…darn, another 4:57 morning and I tried to get back to sleep for a bit but with no luck so I know I’m going to be worn out later…but I feel lot better than I did yesterday so I’ll take that…man, it’s staying dark longer so fast that it’s 7 and it’s barely light out there…so if I can get out by 8 I’ll be happy….but it got pretty cold last night so I may be out in a fleece today….need to decide if I’m going to hit save a lot this morning to get either chicken or ribs since I didn’t get much protein this week but I still don’t have a lot of room in the freezer for any of that….and I probably shouldn’t be eating that much meat….my allergies have been really terrible over the past week or so and that is just so damn exhausting…and it feels like none of the meds are working anymore….and I’m almost out of the generic flonase so I probably should order some more…didn’t get a lot done yesterday as I was feeling pretty crappy all day so I’ll need to do better today…it’s been pretty hard to get back into working on the house but I did start getting the tools ready and will probably start on the trim today….once I get started, it will be easier….not much to do today…just going to ease into it and do the first ride and then figure out if I want to run an errand or not….they are building a city down at the landing for the Irish music festival that is going on this weekend and almost the whole lawn is covered with huge tents but I won’t be going since it costs close to a hundred bucks for the weekend and I really don’t know any of the bands/people who are going to be there….it will be busy down there and will probably get pretty loud…oh, well…more later…
