Well…darn, after getting the bike rides in, I feel so damn worn out that I have just laid on the couch for the past two hours and that is just not normal for me…but, I guess I can take it easy every once in a while…the TDF was on for a bit and then right into race day with the F1 race and now indycar is going to start here in a few minutes, then IMSA, and after that nascar so I could just sit here the rest of the day and watch races and I just might…and I don’t think I’m going to feel guilty about it at all…but I might do some cleaning since I haven’t done any in the past week and the kitchen could use some work…the back steps need to be cleaned, too, along with the mats so I may just do short little bursts to get the bad stuff done…and I should scrub the stairs while I’m at it….and the stove has gotten pretty ugly so that should be done, too….maybe I’ll squirt some cleaner on it and let it soak a while…but the race is starting so I need to see that first….more later….
July 3rd
Well…damn, I’m getting tired of getting up at any time that has a 5 in front of it…and today it was 5:14 and that kind of sucks…I mean I just read a study that says anything under 7 hours means that you are going to die earlier that people who sleep well but I really don’t know what to do about it…don’t want to take the otc sleeping pills again since they make me sluggish all morning so I guess I’ll have to think about it a bit…I did have a pleasant surprise this morning when the car sounded normal when it was kind of loud when I went to the beach Friday….okay, I floored it in 5th at about 20 so that could have done it…I would like to get a new car before this exhaust goes so I can save 4-500 bucks…I did see the fireworks from my front porch last night and that was kind of cool…was not going to go down the hill to see them….have seen enough fireworks in my life and I’m not going to make any effort to see them again….I had a laugh yesterday when I steamed my first batch of green beans out of my garden…had a half a plate of them and, as always, I had to check how many calories they have in them…each bean has about 3 calories in it so the plate full only had about 60 calories….I had estimated that it would have been about 150 so I stayed under a thousand for the day, not that it was the plan but it worked out okay….I do need to get on the bike right now at 6:45 if I’m to get two in before the F1 race on at 10 but it is not too attractive sitting here right now…I could use a day off at some point but I’m not sure what the point would be…not much to do today….oh, the damn weather force field that keeps the rain away worked again last night when a storm with thunder in it was heading right toward us but fell apart just as it was hitting the coastline…and that really sucks since my lawn is dying…I think I’m just going to wing it today and not plan anything….have missed the tour de France that started a couple of days ago so I’ll have to remember that for later this morning…more later…
Ohio repubs are monsters…
Well…just what we living in the rational world that respects women’s rights said was going to happen has just happened in Ohio after the corrupt supreme court overturned roe…and a 10 year old girl who was raped and impregnated was just refused an abortion with the ghouls there saying that this baby is a “gift” to the girl and she should be happy to have it…yep, all of the old white guys that passed this regressive law in response to the loss of Roe have basically said tough shit to this little girl and are trying to force her to become a mother at 10 years old…this is the true repub party…is this what you want for this country? What if it was your child? To compound the trauma of the rape, now they want to make sure she has a reminder of it for the rest of her life…isn’t this child abuse? Yes it is…but the repubs don’t care…they only care about their control of women and abusing them using the law…and yet, how many women still vote for these assholes? Way too many, and if even 20% of them would change their vote, women could get their rights back by electing dems who care about them and their rights….and these sick fucks are gloating about this child not being able to get the health care she needs…doing incessant press conferences praising “god” for the miracle of her pregnancy….these men are just monsters…there is no other word for it….and I told you this and have been telling you since I started this many, many years ago…do not ever vote for another repub…if you do, you will be responsible for the death of this country…and that is not hyperbole…
Two rides in early…
Well…didn’t think I would be able to get two rides in before F1 qualifying came on but I gutted it out and got on the bike by 7:30 and got back here by 9:45…went like crazy for both of them and started to run out of steam on the way back on the second one but I kept going as hard as I could…the dredge was back at the beach this morning putting more sand on the beach but it looks like the wave action took about 25% of what was put on before and washed it away yesterday…where it’s going I don’t know but there are a bunch of new sandbars that made me walk out about a hundred yards into the lake before the water was deep enough to swim…..it will be interesting to see what happens if it storms like forecast Monday and Tuesday….but right now I need to finish up the coffee and watch the last 5 mins of qualifying….more later….
July 2nd
Well…man, I think I’m going to have get some swimming ear plugs if I’m going to be going out to swim so much this year…didn’t get the water out of my right ear until almost bedtime last night and it was so damn annoying not being able to hear out of that ear all night….I did sleep okay last night and just feel a little worn out today but the coffee should help with that so I can get moving and out on the bike soon…I think I may have to have a new exhaust put on the car since it sounds like the baffles have collapsed in the muffler…and it’s about three years since I put this one on and that’s about all they last…darn…and that is going to be about 400 bucks but will be the last one I put on this car….I did get out to the beach yesterday for a while and got a little sun that I am feeling right now and there were still a lot of dead fish out there that smelled really bad and I had to move to the far south end of the beach to get away from it….it is nice to have a working phone again and I was able tot take pictures that I used for the wallpaper in the phone that look cool….I did get downtown last evening but there wasn’t a lot to see and all they had going was this awful EDM concert going on that I could hear from here all night long and it was over half a mile away…and I wonder how anyone could have stood how loud it was up close…I rode by when they were doing a sound check and it was painful to my ears even with my earbuds in…weird….not much to do today…I wonder if this will be a take it easy day for me? Going to watch F1 practice here in a minute then out on the bike for the first ride but won’t get the second one in before qualifying starts so it looks like I’ll have to go out this afternoon….no beach today or tomorrow and it looks like rain Monday and Tuesday…yay! So I may not get out again until Wed…and I think my skin can use the rest….more later….
When will the dems start fighting?
Well…with the out of control SC destroying this country, my only question is when do the dems start fighting it? When will the rest of the dem senators drag Sinema and Manchin aside and tell them to get with the program or they will be primaried with the full force of the dem party behind it…are they so damn stupid that they can’t see what the repubs are doing to this country? And Joe Biden…damn, Joe get off your ass and nominate 4 more justices right now before the court rigs the voting game so much there will never be another dem elected anywhere….every historian that you ask has said that this court is the worst in the history of the country…not using any logic or precedent since they don’t have to…I’m sure we are going to see rulings that are just Alito giving the country the finger and saying fuck you that’s my ruling…this needs to be fixed now…not after the damn election but now…the house is burning down and we need a fire hose and not a teacup…geez…
July 1st
Well…damn, hit the wall this morning and feel just so worn out that I’m not sure if I’m going to get on the bike today…when do I get a day off? I’m sure part of it is not eating enough and that is compounded by having to use the antibiotic for my teeth that makes everything taste like crap….haven’t felt like this in quite a while and all I want to do is lie on the couch and rest….but, you know me, I’ll probably drag myself out here in a minute and get a ride in before F1 practice starts at 8…and I need to do my teeth first so I need to get my ass in gear…slept okay last night and got all the way to 6 this morning but I feel like I didn’t sleep at all and that sucks….read a study yesterday that says you need to have at least 7 hours of sleep a night or you will die 10 years earlier than you should so I guess that means I’m living on borrowed time and could go any time since I never get more than 6 hours a night….oh, well….I did get my capital one app fixed yesterday so I can pay my bill this month but it was a pain in the butt that the damn thing kicked me off and locked up for no reason….there are times that technology sucks….not much to do today….damn, I need to get moving but I don’t want to and I’m not sure if I’m going to get out to the beach today but I want to….I am so damn tired….and I’m running out of time….more later….
Still a lot of progress this week…
Well…since it’s the last day of the month, I thought I’d just noodle around a bit and talk about what happened…over the past week, I got everything done that I had on my plate…getting the cleaning done on my teeth…that now takes me at least 15 minutes twice a day to maintain and uses 3 different tools along with an anti-bacterial mouthwash that makes everything taste like crap for 3 hours…and that cost me 800 bucks out of pocket but I had to get it done if I am ever going to get my gums to heal and keep the rest of my teeth…yesterday, I got my new phone and new plan which was number two on my list and that cost me much less than I expected…and saved me 20 bucks a month and that’s not a bad deal….and I like the new phone but need to get a case for it since it is so thin and I am used to having a case on the old phone…but, after spending 800 bucks over the past couple of weeks, I really don’t want to spend any money at all so maybe I’ll wait til I get my next influx of cash in three weeks…oh, and I just read that the cost of living increase for next year could be 11% and that would add over 250 bucks to my monthly payment…and that would be pretty cool…and I did find a doctor to finish my to do list even if I won’t see him til next month…I did get out to the beach to play in the waves today and that was fun…but there was an alewive die off so there was a fishy smell and lots of small fishes washed up on the beach and floating in the water….but I still went swimming but was only out there for an hour or so since I wanted to get the potatoes done for potato salad that I’m going to make tomorrow….so it looks like I have the weekend off and I may even have a cocktail for the first time in over a week to celebrate….we’ll see…no more this month…
Rigging all the votes….
Well…if you haven’t had enough of this supreme court, get ready for the next one they are cooking up to help repubs win everywhere and make them a permanent majority. Since they have majorities in the majority of states, the strategy is to use the courts to make sure they can rig all of the elections by the extreme gerrymandering that has been their biggest tool to disenfranchise everyone but their voters…even here in Michigan where the people had enough of that bullshit and voted for a constitutional amendment that forces the use of an independent commission to draw legislative district to get rid of the repub gerrymander here…but the court is heading to making the will of the people illegal and put it back into the hands of the repubs in state legislatures they control…even though they should never have taken the case with mountains of precedent saying that the people of the states get to decide…but we know how much this court cares about precedent….not at all, so of course Alito wants to take the case to make sure the repubs win every election…come on Biden, expand the court and sit this asshole back down and shut him up…geez….
That didn’t work…
Well…darn..went over to the doctor’s office this morning for my checkup and that didn’t work…the person I talked to over there didn’t say that it was for Thursday, July 28th, she just said Thursday, so I assumed it was this Thursday…but no….so I came back home and had lunch and then hit the beach for some wave fun for an hour or so and then back here to peel the potatoes for the potato salad I want to make this afternoon….and now I’m looking for a topic on politics that grabs me so I can get one of those out here in the next hour or so….still drinking coffee at 1:30 in the afternoon and I think that is because I was up at 5 and I’m running out of steam…I do like the camera on my new phone…it is so much better than the one on my tablet and I posted the first photo to FB this morning from the beach at 7am…yep, way too early…..more later…
