Well, now I know why I started my garden in the buckets…there is a frost advisory on for Muskegon tonight so I just brought them in the back door where they will stay warm…the bean and pea plants are really taking off and are 6 inches tall already and I have both regular and cherry tomato plants up…but I’m sure I’m not going to declare success until there a big and little red tomatoes ready to pick…I did get the insurance transfer set up today and for the first time in my life I have a car that is nice enough to have full coverage so I bit the bullet and told them to do it…about 300 bucks extra a year but I really don’t want to be out 12,500 bucks if some idiot totals my car…so that bill is in the mail and that means another thousand bucks going out next week to pay the taxes and transfer fees along with the plate renewal…man, I’m going to have to cut back for the rest of the year to restock my checking account…oh, well…tv time…

Well…the first thing my brother said to after I told him I bought a new car was “what’s the blue book price”….and I hadn’t even checked it…just had a gut feel that it was a great price for a great car…so last night when I was watching a boring show on plex, I decided to look up the price and man, am I getting a good deal…the cheapest grand touring special edition on the site was 14,995 and they ranged up to 16,900…and the lowest miles on any of them were almost 90K vs the 49k on mine…so it looks like a screaming deal to me and it will be my last car for sure…okay, need to read a bit…

Well…damn, that sucked…up a little after 3 and then up and down until I dragged my ass out of bed around 6…and I feel like crap today and I wonder if it’s just getting old and doing too much work yesterday? It looks like I won’t be outdoors on the bike today with the wind just howling out there at 20-30 and gusting to 50 and I can use an easy day…have to start thinking about how to manage my energy levels and part of that is making sure I eat enough…only had an Italian sausage and a 7 oz pork loin filet yesterday and that keeps me under 1k calories and that is not sustainable…and I know that but with not being able to taste anything, I really don’t care to eat….as if the winds we have are not enough, we are supposed to get “high winds” around noon today and that really makes for a normal day around here…not sure what I’m going to do today but I could do the grocery run after the first ride for the last ride in the old Miata but I don’t know if I’m up for that…only more coffee will tell me what to do…more later…

Well…darn, what a busy today and I am worn out from it…started out with three rides, then I mowed the lawn, then washed and lubed the bike and then spent an hour picking up trash up here and filled a 30 gallon bag to the top just doing the triangle lot and the streets but it is clean and tomorrow is trash day so that worked out well…so I don’t have a lot to do tomorrow but the rides and that will be welcome…a lot of the seeds are coming up in the buckets and tomorrow I’ll plant the seeds from the open packets in the old garden just for the hell of it…might get some storms tonight and rain tomorrow but I’m not holding my breath…hasn’t rained here in a couple of weeks and the yard can use it…tried some lidocaine roll on for the pain in my right knee and it helped a bit so I’ll use that again tomorrow…okay, didn’t get the chance to read much today so i’m going to do that now…

Well…damn, up at 4:40 again today and I tried to get back to sleep but it didn’t work so I’ll be worn out all day…it’s before 6am and I just poured the first cup of coffee and there will be a need for a lot of it today…have settled in to the 1 ride in and two rides out 33 mile days on the bike and that seems to fit okay…need to mow the lawn and probably should do that today along with planting seeds in the garden but that seems to be too much work right now before the coffee works…and I need to wash the bike and lube the chain since it started to make the noise that says lube me yesterday…so that leaves me with a full day of work to do and all I want to do is sit here and slowly let my body get used to being up…getting damn old and I’m feeling it…need to think about getting my blood work done next week for my check up and I sure hope my PSA still stays undetectable…don’t want to have to have any more treatment for anything…no more dental work…no more blood pressure work…no nothing…it’s too damn much work getting old…more later…

Well…didn’t get anything done today but the rides and I sure needed that…finished up the 2nd book and received a photo of my new car in an e-mail and sent it out to everybody including my Mastodon account…so now everyone has seen the car but I’m still going to take photos of the trip over and back…my remaining brother called me this afternoon and said he may want to go over to Milwaukee with me since he feels like he needs a day off and he sees the ferry every day from his lakefront house and then hears the waves it makes hitting his beach…don’t know if I can stand to be around him for 6 hours but it’s a big boat so there’s room…and he can pick me up so I don’t have to take a cab…going to have to mow the lawn sometime this week so I better check the weather…tv time…

Well…up at 5:55 this morning and I guess I just have to accept that…and it’s 20 after 6 and I’m just getting started on the first cup of coffee…I am going to try to make this another easy day with just one indoor ride and then outdoors for two but I need to watch Man U t 9…and I’m not sure why I even want to do that…they are in 15th place and have sucked this whole season…oh, well…the owner of the new Miata sent me a photo of the car in his garage and I think he is regretting selling it a bit…but what a gorgeous car! Can’t wait til it’s sitting in my garage…when I woke up today I didn’t know what day it was…holy crap…Wrexam just got promoted to the championship…one league below the Premier League and that is just so cool…it’s damn cold here this morning at 35 degrees and I just covered the buckets to make sure the veggies aren’t killed but it’s going to warm up into the 60’s later…and into the 70’s tomorrow so I’ll be out in shorts and a t-shirt…not much to do today…just the rides and races…moto GP first and then nascar at Talladega and that should be fun….more later…

Well…my well developed sense of guilt has fired up today with taking a lazy day of only 2 indoor rides, reading a bunch, and only doing laundry…okay, no, I cleaned the couch and rotated the cushions along with the rest of the living room so I guess it wasn’t so lazy…I do have some of the veggies that have sprouted in the buckets with beans, peas, and two kinds of tomatoes so I put the buckets outdoors today and that’s where they will stay for at least 10 days…tonight it’s getting down into the upper 30’s but then in the 40’s and 50’s for a while…I am really curious to see if this method will work and I’m going to back that up with planting the open seeds in the old garden to see if last year was an anomaly…I guess we’ll see…going to try to do two outdoor rides tomorrow with the high in the 60’s…okay…need to prep for some tv watching tonight…

Well…damn, another morning of waking up at 5:12 but this one was better with being able to go back to sleep til 6:20…it’s cold here again with the heat coming on and the temp in the lower 40’s and I may just do two rides indoors since it’s not getting much into the 50’s today…and the MotoGP sprint race is on at 9 so it looks like one ride before and one ride after the race and then I’ll call it good…I do need to clean the couch and rotate the cushions along with vacuuming the rug today and there is plenty of time to get that done before the races start from Talladega…don’t have to cook with the soup leftovers and the pork tenderloins I got yesterday and I have two packs of chicken sausages I got from DD and it’s nice to get past having ham the past two weeks…and I have three kinds of potatoes I got for a buck for 5 pounds so I’ll have to get creative to use them before they spoil..red, yellow, and russets and I think I’ll look for recipes…maybe some scalloped potatoes? Not much to do today…just need another cup of coffee before I get on the bike and get started….more later…

Well…when I took the old Miata out today to some errands with the top down, it struck me that it could have been the last time I drive it that way…and there are lots of lasts coming…I wonder that the last song will be on the radio as I park it next to the garage? There will lots of good lasts, too…I mean the last time I have to put coolant in it would be one of those…or the last time I need to repair the top to stop it leaking…and it appears that I won’t have to spend another dime on it for brakes, exhausts or anything else…and one week from today at this time, I’ll be pulling up to my house in the new Miata and that will be so cool…I wonder how much faster it will be than the old one? Probably not a lot since it weighs 300 pounds more…and I can’t wait to try a shifter that has only 49,000 miles on it and to see how fast the engine turns at 80 in 6th gear…I hope it’s not the 4K the old one turns…okay want to read a bit…I did get out to DD today to get a pound of smoked turkey for 2 bucks and two packages of chicken sausages for 99 cents each…and got more of those 1 dollar bacon wrapped pork loin steaks from Meijers that are just the right size for a meal…
