Well…heard some bad news yesterday when G called and said her father had died Friday…it wasn’t too big of a shock since he had a massive stroke two weeks ago and had been on a ventilator ever since…so, with that news, the rest of what I have to say is kind of put into perspective and really is of no importance right now…so, I’ll come back later with another one….more later….

Well…things seem to be back to normal with my wake up time…I think so, anyway…got up at 6 today and I’m trying to get moving but really don’t need to just yet…Man U plays at 8 so that will keep me from getting out on the bike until they start to stink the place up….they are playing Chelsea today and that is normally a pretty good game but there is a lot of turmoil at Man U right now so who knows how they’ll play….I did check my BP just a few minutes ago and that confused me….it is 117/71 and that is lower than it has been in a week or so and I really didn’t do anything different to change it…hmmmm….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and today looks to be the same with all of the sports on….Michigan plays State at noon and then there is a race on later so I’ll be couch bound most of the day…I do have to cook lunch but that will be simple with just making some chicken and steaming some cauliflower and carrots….bought one of those collapsing veggie steamers that seems to work quite well but I am still learning how to use it….oh, and I do need to clean the kitchen but that will be in between the sports…more later….

Well…just got back from the doctors appointment where they were going to try to fix the snafu that got my initial Medicare appointment payment rejected…and there was some good news that I am going to celebrate today…in the month since the last appointment, I’ve lost 5 pounds and the EKG they took today was completely normal, so at least no heart problems are evident right now…and I passed all of the tests they use to look for dementia…along with the cursory vision tests they did…so, I feel pretty good about that…I am still trying to figure out my blood pressure not dropping to where it should be with me being good and cutting out all of the salt in my diet…but, I’m not going to worry about that right now, I DO get to celebrate a little or what the hell is life for?

Well….slept in a little today with not getting up until 6:16 but I don’t feel any different for it…or better for that matter so I’m not sure of the value of additional sleep…had an okay day yesterday and got a few things done so that was a bonus…got the car cleaned but I think I may have to re-do the windows since there is still some fog on  them and that annoys the hell out of me…didn’t get a lot else done but the bike ride and groceries and really didn’t have too much energy with trying to get my weight down and skipping everything that has even a hint of salt in it…my BP has not been good and I’m having trouble getting it below 120 so no salt or anything that tastes good…and that means I may need to cut coffee out, too, but just don’t want to give up everything that I enjoy….I do have another doctors appointment this morning at 10 and I think it’s just for an ekg to get Medicare to pay for my check up….what a pain in the butt…not sure when I’m going to get the bike ride in today…I may do it as soon as it gets light but if I wait, I may be able to go out in shorts again….more later…

Well…back to running at the normal time for a Thursday but I guess I could have come here earlier with getting up at 5:45….but, I didn’t feel like it so normal will have to do….slept a little better last night and feel okay this morning but I had to warm the car up to get the frost off of the windows for the first time since March and that is a little depressing…but, I know that the seasons change here in Michigan and that is part of why I still live here when I could move anywhere I want….I did get a bike ride in yesterday and finally was smart enough to use the heavy gloves and that made all the difference….not cold at all….but, I think I’ll wait to go out until later today and maybe be able to go out int shorts for the last time…and I need to wash the car today to get it ready for winter with a full cleaning and doing the interior and windows….need to get them treated with rain x…for some reason, I got motivated to clean the bathroom yesterday when I had it planned for today but I’ll take it…that means I can clean the kitchen today after the car…have been freaking out about salt lately since I can’t get my BP down far enough and thought I was doing okay with my intake but I was really, really wrong….I mean, 686 milligrams for 50 calories of sliced ham? That is almost 1/2 of what is allowed if you want to not affect your BP…and I thought I was doing so good with processed foods…just another thing that I can’t eat anymore…more later…

Well…damn…up at 5:09 this morning and had another really bad night of sleep so I’m here pretty early, too…not sure what’s going on but I know I am going to have a nap later and the prospect of that is not a bad thing…the ibuprofen worked for the bike ride yesterday and it was a good day out…but, today looks like it may be a day off with the rain showers coming in later and the temp supposed to be dropping all day down to around 40 for a high…but, tomorrow looks better so it will be a clean the car day to get it ready for the winter with waxing it and treating the windows with rain x….I do have some errands to run this morning and that will make it easier to wait to try to get on the bike….I need batteries and a bunch of other stuff from HF and then have to get some chicken from Aldi’s…need to freeze the second pack of ham I bought from my cheap store to get my salt level down…way too much in it even though I like it…not much to do today…going to clean some more after I get back here since I feel good about the progress from yesterday…it looks like I’m going to have to warm the car up tomorrow for the grocery run…will be frost on the car and I refuse to get the scraper out this early…more later….

Well… Had to sign a new lease today and I’m not sure how I feel about that…it means I’ve failed at finding a house on my timetable but it has also reduced the stress I was feeling of not getting that done…and, I could do it online so it was quite easy….at least I still have a place to live for now…oh, and I found out that this place is now reporting rent payments to credit reporting companies so I’ll finally get credit for paying my rent on time for a change…and that should raise my credit score and lower my interest rate when I find a house….I did get some other stuff done today and that made me feel a little better….mostly just some cleaning but that is something…and I found a catalog from Harbor Freight that had some coupons in it for stuff I need so I’m going there tomorrow and just look around…that’s always a trip….okay, it’s time to wind it down for the day and watch a little tv….oh, and it appears that I have fixed the top on the car…no leaks after the rain yesterday so I guess that’s another something….

Well…it’s almost 7 so that means I’m about on time today…have been up since before 6 and that is too damn early…oh, well…and I am sore from the ride yesterday…have been creaking around here this morning and if this is what it’s like feeling old, I don’t like it…it was pretty brutal out there yesterday with it being cold, wet, and windy and I just about froze my hands…they hurt like crazy as they were thawing and they still feel like there was some damage done…will get out the heavy gloves for the ride today even though it will look weird…didn’t get out for pool yesterday so I didn’t win or lose but I did get out to my daily deals store for some cheap food….I mean who can pass up honey ham for 1.49 a pound and two pounds of coffee for 3.99? Need to get out to Harbor Freight this morning for some batteries and some gloves that I should have bought long ago to clean the oven…my hands appear to have healed after peeling a couple of layers of skin off from the oven cleaner…they are still really shiny, though so maybe they need a little more time….not much to do today…need to clean some and the normal stuff…and there is some soccer on this aft…finally…so I won’t be too bored…more later….

Well…slept all the way in til 6 this morning and don’t feel any better for it…I am still sleeping better than I have in a while so I guess that’s something and I shouldn’t bitch too much…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t get anything done but watch races and today will be the same with pool this aft…I did get the top on the car repaired and I can’t wait to see if I guessed right with the rain last night and this morning…as I think back, it dawned on me that it’s been leaking all summer since there was always water on the drivers side every time I put the top up after a top down run…so we’ll see today if I can put the top down on the way out to pool…I did get a nice bike ride in yesterday but I’m not sure about today…there is a lot of rain out there right now but it appears to be moving off pretty fast so I may be able to go out around ten or so….not much to do today….other than pool that is…I could clean some while I wait out the rain but I’m not too motivated so we’ll see…more later..
