Well…I normally look forward to warmer weather in the spring but out here that only means that the assholes will be thumping their bullshit music and that started yesterday….I am so damn tired of it…going to get to 1,000 miles for the year today but that means I have to get on the bike in about 5 minutes to get a ride in before the grocery run…I think the trails may be clear enough to ride on today so I’ll be checking that our today…didn’t sleep well last night but that’s normal so I’m resigned to that…doing the grocery run is going to be a chore today but it’s a chore every week so that’s not new…going to make a pizza Friday or Thursday…not sure which but I have a ton of pepperoni that I want to use on it…and it will be a good change from soups that I have been eating for weeks now…the weather widget says “rain coming” and I don’t mind that…the crocuses at the back of the house are coming up and it’s still February and that can’t be good…way too early for them and I think the frost that is coming this weekend is going to kill them…not much to do today…just need to get on the bike right now so I guess I will…more later…

Well…just read an article by Mark Sumner over on Kos that I completely agree with…that the repub party is now just trump…no ideas, nothing for the people, just fealty to trump…no platform, no nothing…and that’s the thing I can’t figure out at all…I mean 7 years of losses of sets in congress, an extra 200,000 Americans dead in the pandemic…and the culmination of the ruination of the repub party…and now he promises to destroy NATO and turn Ukraine over to putin and make his new term a revenge turn where he will go after his “enemies” who have held him accountable for his crimes…and let’s remember that many, many people who were in his administration and other observers have said that he is barely lucid most of the time and yet the rank and file still support him as if he is a god or something…I guess the modern repub party just has hate to run on these days…and idiot boy is full of that…geez…
February 20th
Well…damn, I sure don’t want to get moving today…not sure why I feel so compelled to get moving every morning…that’s not retirement…I should be able to do what I want when I want but maybe getting the rides in is my new job? I do like losing weight that comes with getting the miles in but it is just so wearing….I did get an outdoor ride in for 10 extra miles yesterday but it was on the city streets since the trails are still snow covered and won’t melt off for another week or so…took the car out to run an errand yesterday and the brakes feel okay and I’m going to let the self adjusters do their thing before I do any more work on it…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but the rides but I need to do some meal planning today with the end of the leftovers coming soon….got to 960 miles for the year yesterday and that means I will get to 1,000 miles before the and of the month…have never gotten to 1K miles this early before and that is an accomplishment at my advanced age…not much to do today…just want to get back to a little routine today and get some cleaning done…and some reading…I did pick up another bag of bird food yesterday but it will probably be the last one….more later…

Well…not sure if you saw it or not, but the idiot trump now has a new grift to go along with all of the others like trump steaks, trump university, trump airline etc…at one of his fascist “rallies” here in Michigan over the weekend, he announced trump freedom shoes…along with trump perfume…yep, shoes and perfume this time…the shoes are basketball shoes painted gold and are priced at 400 bucks a pair…and they are already being used to bilk the rubes with some put out on auction sites for up to 2,500 bucks a pair…not sure if anyone has bitten on a pair at that price but, given how stupid the members of the trump cult are, I’m sure they are going to have some takers…one wag on the internet did the math and idiot boy would have to sell 875,000 pairs of the shoes at 400 bucks to pay the 355 million dollar fine he was assessed on Friday…but that is not going to happen…oh, and they are made in China so there’s that…the perfume? Well…I’m really tired of 4:24…have been waking up at that time for weeks now and you would think I would be able to take a nap later in the day to make up for it but no, I just sleep walk through the days forcing myself to do the rote things I need to do…and that will start here in about32 minutes when I get on the bike by 7…I was going to say I need to get done with the errand I need to run and the rides by the time the race starts at 11 but emby is down again so I won’t be able to see either one today…the pain from working on the car is starting to subside and I can’t wait to test the brakes when I run the errand…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but without the races, I’ll have time to clean and do some meal planning along with reading..it’s supposed to be almost 40 today so I’ll probably try .to get an outdoor ride in just to take a look at the trails…the roads still have icy patches on them so I’m sure the trails will, too…but it’s going to be warm all week so I may be able to get out later…over 50 later in the week and I hope the temps hold….not much to do today…22 minutes until the bike rides and I just saw it’s only 19 degrees outside…ick…more late…

February 18th
Well…what a pain in the butt…my laptop reset overnight and now I’ve spent a bunch of time getting firefox set up again…up at three and then actually went into the living room and turned the lights on at 4:15 when I thought it was after 6…so I went back to bed til a little after 6 and now I have 16 minutes before I need to get on the bike but I sure don’t feel like it…I keep saying I need to take a day off at some point but I never do and it’s catching up to me…still so sore from working on the car and I am tired of it….hope it gets better today….Man U plays at 11:30 so that is the deadline for this morning…don’t have to cook today with two kinds of leftovers in the fridge and I have an open jar of pasta sauce that needs to be used up…but right now I don’t even want to think about it…had a pretty easy day yesterday other than the rides and shoveling snow and the wind was howling all night as it warms up…it’s almost 30 out here right now and it never got over 25 yesterday…going to be in the 40’s this week and I’ll get on the bike at some point to take a look at the trails…not much to do today…just the rides and then sports with the Daytona 500 on later and there may be a nap in the future…I think I’ve said that a hundred times and haven’t been able to do it once…and I could use it…more later…

Well….it didn’t take long for the magas to show their cult like worship of the idiot trump…before the day was over yesterday after he was slammed with a 355 million dollar fine for business fraud in NY…one of the magas set up a go fund me page for him to try to get the morons to pay the fine for him…or maybe it was actually somebody on idiot boy’s staff…whoever it was, there have even been donations to the page that you know the idiot is going to pocket as he has the contributions to his PAC…but I’ll bet put together the maga crowd doesn’t even have 355 million dollars even if they sell off everything they have…I’m laughing at them….

Well…up way too darn early today but that got me on the bike a little after 7 and had both rides in by 10am…so I went out to shovel the snow without checking on the temp and I probably should have…man, it was cold out there with a temp of 16 and wind out of the north at about 10…my hands were frozen by the time I was done and that was with the extra gloves inside my new ones…and it’s now after 2 and it’s still only 23 degrees and the weather widget says “high winds soon” so it looks like a good day to hibernate after I made the chicken masala for lunch…so I’m just going to read a bit and watch a race that’s on at 4…no race tonight so I may be able to catch up on some tv on plex or netflix…more later…
February 17th
Well…no one should be awake at 3 and then for good at 5;34…it’s just wrong and I’m going to be worn out all day from it…that leaves me about 25 minutes before I need to get on the bike and I really need a day off…it snowed again last night and it’s not going to get above freezing today so I’ll have to shovel…my whole right side is still sore from working on the car and I had to treat it with biofreeze last night just to be able to sit and watch tv…I do need to cook today to use up the chicken I thawed so masala is on the menu for lunch…cripes, it’s down to 16 degrees right now but a warm up is coming to nearly 50 next week and I hope the trails will clear so I can ride outdoors…took an easy day yesterday but I did get two rides in, made potato soup, and got the weight work in and today will be almost the same…it’s 6:45 and I’m dreading getting on the bike but I know I have to and the earlier I get going, the earlier I’ll be done…but I need more than a half cup of coffee to fuel that…I really wish nascar would put the races on during the day so I can have my normal entertainment at night…it just feels wrong and a bit boring to watch races at night…oh, well…more later…
