Well…damn, up at 4:04 this morning and that is just not going to cut it…didn’t sleep well at all last night and I’ll be feeling it later…it’s going to be a busy one today with getting the first ride in, then doing the grocery run, and some yard work to try to clean up the edging so there won’t be a beach run after the 2nd ride…and I do need to hit the library to get more books since I finished off the 4 I got last week…it’s 6:15 and it’s still dark so I won’t be getting out for a half hour or so…and that will make me later for the whole day…oh, well…still need to figure out meals for the rest of the week but I do know I need to make some more pickles today so I’ll have some for burgers if I get the Wagyu beef from aldis….it was nice to get some rain yesterday but It was nowhere near enough to fix the 18 inch deficit out here so my yard is never going to recover…oh, well…need to get moving soon but I’m going to need more coffee first…more later…
Got some rain…
Well…finally, we got some rain out here today and I even got wet on the bike this morning…and it’s storming here a little for like only the 3rd time all year…might even have to mow the front of the lawn later in the week…I should do the edger, too, but I’m not sure if my hurt ribs will stand up to that…they still hurt when I do the weight work so I’ll have to be careful…going to do the grocery/library run tomorrow and I think I’m going to buy some Wagyu hamburger at aldis for 4.99 a pound and give myself a little treat…have never had it before but I know that Wagyu beef is supposed to be the best you can get…so now I have to figure out what to do for the rest of the day since I just finished the last book a few minutes ago…I could clean the bathroom I guess or just do all of my normal things like making ice and setting up the coffee maker…I did start on the bathroom so maybe I’ll just do that…we’ll see..
Alaska is now Russia?
Well…is Alaska now Russia? You would think it is if you listened to the idiot trump at a press conference yesterday when he said he is going to meet with putin in Russia instead of Alaska where the meeting is going to take place…and you get the true feeling of what the rest of the world thinks about the meeting when the UK, EU, and Ukraine didn’t even ask to be included sine they know nothing will come from it and they don’t want to look stupid by being on the stage with the orange idiot…it’s abut time the rest of the world started treating idiot boy with the contempt that he deserves since talking to him is like talking to a toddler and he lies constantly so what’s the point? I’m still pissed at the media for giving the idiot a free pass for things that show he is just a walking bag of shit and should be in a home somewhere and not in the WH…geez…
August 12th
Well…damn, up at 5:31 again today and that is getting pretty old…and I need to get on the bike before 7 to get two rides in before the rain comes in at 10am or so…pretty damn worn out today so getting going is not going to be easy…almost to 6,000 miles for the year so anything else will be gravy…with no goal this year I’m still moving forward but there is quickly coming a time when I won’t be able to do it and that sucks…don’t really have a plan for the day other than getting the rides in and making a grocery list that is not going to have much on it but I may buy some chicken breasts at aldis to make a stir fry even though I don’t need it…should still be eating out of the freezer and I’m going to try to do that…I wonder how long I could do that? A month? Probably should take inventory and plan some meals instead of just winging it…not much to do today…just going to finish the last book after the rides and make another batch of home made pickles…more later…
No swim today…
Well…darn, went out to the beach this morning but it was cool and started to rain before I got in the water so I just buttoned the car up and came home…it did rain for about 15 minutes and by that time I was already on the couch reading so no swim today…and it looks like none tomorrow if it rains like forecast…ha,ha…yeah, I can’t believe I wrote that either…it doesn’t rain out here other than the tiny sprinkles like this morning…and forgot to do my weight work so I need to get on that right now…and then read a bit…I did pay my 1,000 dollar car insurance bill this morning and that stung a little…and I have summer taxes due in Sept…ouch…oh, well…need to get lifting…

Well…now we see the orange moron is sending the FBI and National Guard troops onto the streets of DC lying his ass off about why…gee, could this be another distraction attempt to get his role as a pedophile who is all over the Epstein files pushed back to the second page? Of course it is and idiot boy screaming about Crime! doesn’t make it a fact…in fact violent crime is down by over 30% since 2023…is he going to have the feds come in and scoop up homeless people and put them in camps as he is threatening? Yeah, it doesn’t matter to him that being homeless is not a crime…he just doesn’t want to have to look at them while he celebrates with the assholes who are causing this “crisis”…the rest of the repub party who cut services and housing subsidies to put people on the street and give their rich buddies more tax cuts…just remember…Epstein! August 11th
Well…damn, just spent a thousand dollars on car insurance for the year and that stings a bit…oh, well…didn’t sleep much last night and I’m feeling it right now…so I need to pour coffee down to be able to get on the bike by 7am and the two rides are the only thing I have planned for today…not sure if I’m going to the beach today but probably…don’t have to cook today but I am going to toast a bagel here in a minute…my thumb has started to heal and doesn’t hurt much but I’ll check it before the rides to see if it will still bleed…it never got under 77 overnight and I’m already sweating with the fan on but it’s not supposed to get to 90 like yesterday and we may have some rain coming tomorrow…yeah, that made me laugh, too…it doesn’t rain here…I should clean the bathroom and kitchen today but I’m not sure if I will or not…doing anything in this humidity is a big chore and I’ll end up soaked from sweat…I am getting tired of everything being damp including me…not much to do today…just need to get moving and toast the bagel so I can get on the bike when it gets light…more later…
A few things done…
Well…with the damn heat, I was going to take the day off after the rides but I did get a few things done…well…two things anyway…did the laundry and made another batch of pasta salad so I’d have a side to go with everything else…the pickles I made came out really good…like a spicy Clausens and I think I now have that recipe figured out, too…going to up the vinegar to 3/4’s of a cup for the next batch to give it a little tang and use tons of the pickling spice since that gives it the bite I like…going to make another batch with the 49 cent cucumbers I got at aldis last week..I don’t think I remember bleeding for an entire day after cutting myself but I can now change the bandage without blood just running out of the cut but I still need to be careful to not use the thumb much until it has a few days to heal…I was able to shift the bike using the side of my thumb with no pain and that’s what I was worried about…okay, time for some trashy tv…
Just another distraction from the Epstein files..
Well…oh, gee here’s another try at distracting the country from the Epstein files that the idiot trump is all over…so now he sets up a “summit” with his pal Putin to be held in Alaska this week where they are supposed to talk bout the war in Ukraine…but, will Ukraine be there? Nope no one from Ukraine was even invited…and idiot boy has been floating the idea that any agreement will give some of Ukraine to Russia…rewarding putin for his genocidal terrorism…of course Ukraine has said that any agreement without including Ukraine is null and void and they will never give up and inch of their territory…so, whats the point? As I said, it’s just another distraction so people don’t keep up pushing to have the unredacted Epstein files released…and since putin is going to be on our territory and we are a signatory to the ICC treaty, he should be arrested and sent to the Hague to be tried for the war crimes he has been charged with for his terrorism in Ukraine…that’s what we should be doing but with idiot boy in office, he will just kiss putin’s ass and take the pat on the head that ole pootie will give him…geez…
August 10th
Well…damn, it looks like it rained a bit overnight and it’s still spitting so the bike rides may be delayed some today…I took a big flap if skin off my right thumb cleaning my new salt shaker/pepper mill yesterday and it bled all day until I used some super glue to close up the wound and I don’t know if I’ll be able to shift the bike with the damage…crap…it was so damn hot yesterday that I could barely move and the heat and humidity is just wearing me out…and today looks about the same and after not sleeping at all last night, I’m worn out…might even go out in the rain this morning since it’s still 75 and I don’t mind riding in the rain…I really do need a rest day after more than 650 days in a row on the bike…but I’m shooting for a full two years and that will be October 19th so I need to keep going…need to figure out meals since I only have one meal of leftovers for today so I might make some pasta salad and dig in the freezer…lots of stuff in there but I really don’t want to think about that right now…more later…
