Well…with Target’s trumper ceo running as fast as he could kiss the idiot’s ass and cancel all of the DEI programs at Target even before he was asked to, a boycott of the store was organized and hit them hard…foot traffic at target stores is down by 15% and the company has lost almost 13 billion dollars in valuation of it’s stock…and this moron didn’t understand that cutting DEI programs that make hiring more fair would turn off most Americans who aren’t white supremacist assholes…and he also didn’t understand that black people in this country have 1.9 trillion dollars in purchasing power that this idiot has now driven away forever by showing that Target only cares about kissing the idiot trump’s ass and acting racist…so yes, boycotts do work and I won’t ever set foot in Target again…will not support racist assholes…geez…
April 26th
Well…damn, another morning of waking up at 5:12 but this one was better with being able to go back to sleep til 6:20…it’s cold here again with the heat coming on and the temp in the lower 40’s and I may just do two rides indoors since it’s not getting much into the 50’s today…and the MotoGP sprint race is on at 9 so it looks like one ride before and one ride after the race and then I’ll call it good…I do need to clean the couch and rotate the cushions along with vacuuming the rug today and there is plenty of time to get that done before the races start from Talladega…don’t have to cook with the soup leftovers and the pork tenderloins I got yesterday and I have two packs of chicken sausages I got from DD and it’s nice to get past having ham the past two weeks…and I have three kinds of potatoes I got for a buck for 5 pounds so I’ll have to get creative to use them before they spoil..red, yellow, and russets and I think I’ll look for recipes…maybe some scalloped potatoes? Not much to do today…just need another cup of coffee before I get on the bike and get started….more later…
Lasts are coming…
Well…when I took the old Miata out today to some errands with the top down, it struck me that it could have been the last time I drive it that way…and there are lots of lasts coming…I wonder that the last song will be on the radio as I park it next to the garage? There will lots of good lasts, too…I mean the last time I have to put coolant in it would be one of those…or the last time I need to repair the top to stop it leaking…and it appears that I won’t have to spend another dime on it for brakes, exhausts or anything else…and one week from today at this time, I’ll be pulling up to my house in the new Miata and that will be so cool…I wonder how much faster it will be than the old one? Probably not a lot since it weighs 300 pounds more…and I can’t wait to try a shifter that has only 49,000 miles on it and to see how fast the engine turns at 80 in 6th gear…I hope it’s not the 4K the old one turns…okay want to read a bit…I did get out to DD today to get a pound of smoked turkey for 2 bucks and two packages of chicken sausages for 99 cents each…and got more of those 1 dollar bacon wrapped pork loin steaks from Meijers that are just the right size for a meal…

Well…this would be so damn funny if it wasn’t costing the taxpayers so much money…a non partisan Partnership for Public Service has done a study and run the numbers and have found that the disruptions caused by elon and the rest of his DOGE stooges are costing taxpayers over 132 billion dollars..yep, the guys idiot boy put in charge lower the cost of government have increased it’s cost for 132 billion and they are only in the first 100 days of idiot boy’s term…and this same organization has said that their cost reduction numbers are all lies and they haven’t saved a damn dime…so again, repubs show that they are truly incompetent at everything they put their greasy mitts on…so if elon is allowed to keep this up, he is going to cost the country a trillion dollars by the time he’s done…and these costs are going straight to increasing the deficit as the tax cuts that idiot boy is pushing will…typical repub bullshit…screw up the functioning government program, then crow about how bad it is to justify cutting it…god, I hate repubs…geez…
April 25th
Well…I don’t know if there is anything worse than waking up at 5:16 and knowing there is no way that you’re going to get back to sleep…so here I am, having the first cup of coffee and I really need it to work right now…might even have to make some pour over later this morning…and I do need to make a grocery run this morning since I need to hit DD for some stuff…put the last big ham in the freezer yesterday so I’ll need to figure out meals for today…I do have potato soup but need to figure out the second meal for the next few days…just frickin exhausted and I need to drag myself down to get a ride in soon…for the first time this year, the heat didn’t come on overnight and I wonder if spring is finally getting here? Nope, back down into the 50’s this weekend and that is depressing…and my seeds are not coming up downstairs and that sucks…no garden again this year and I’ve never had such a problem getting stuff going…not much to do today…just the errands and then lots of riding but it’s only 51 so the first one will be indoors…man, I’m tired…more later…
Not as busy…
Well…it was an easier day today and I really needed that…Ii did get three rides in and then made a batch of potato soup and froze one container just to see if it will freeze okay with milk and butter in it…I guess we’ll see…I did finish up the last book and put the top down for a run over to the library and I am amazed that I could park in the 1/2 hour space right in front of the steps…something about living in a small town…this is the last week of driving this Miata and the “lasts” are getting to me a bit…have had this thing for many years and I will be sad to see it go when I sell it…but the new one is such a better car that I probably won’t know how to act…now I just need it to last one more week without having the exhaust fail and I need to find the title for the old one….but not now…time to read a bit….

In last fall’s election, they went for the idiot trump by 42 points, not believing him that he was going to cut government “waste” and that they might need some of that waste after say a natural disaster? If you remember, West Virginia had some of the worst flooding on record this winter…and you know the punch line to that is the feds are not sending a dime to help with the recovery…FEMA has been defunded and gutted and let’s compare the response that of Joe Biden’s administration to the disaster in North Carolina when Hurricane Helene struck and the average personal payout was over 42,000 bucks and that was in addition to money paid out to cities and county government…gee, I never thought this would ever happen by putting incompetents in charge of taking car of citizens who are not billionaires…h,ha…geez…

Well…not sure if there is anything worse than waking up at 3:53 and fearing that you can’t get back to sleep…but I was able to get another hour in so I guess I just have to live with that…need to get a ride in downstairs and then hope for two outside but that may wait til this aft when the temp comes up…it’s in the 40’s right now and I am so damn tired of the cold…I officially call this a no spring year since we are almost to May and it’s going to be in the low 50’s for the next week…and that sucks…not sure what I’m going to do for meals today but I did want to make potato soup with both russet and red potatoes along with some ham…have never done that before but I don’t see why that won’t be a good change to the recipe…maybe only do two rides today so I can take the hour I need to make the soup…haven’t taken any time just for me in a long time so maybe today should be the day? Not much to do today…I really do need to clean the couch and living room but with how I feel right now that seems like way too much work but I guess we’ll see…more later…
Busy day…
Well…I really don’t know how I can be retired and so busy all the time and today was just another one of a long line of them…started with the first ride at 7am and then out to do the grocery run, then back on the bike for two outdoor rides…oh, and after the groceries, I found time to feed the lawn for the first time this year…so yep, pretty busy and didn’t get done with everything until almost 2 so that made for a solid 7 hour day…tomorrow should be easier and I really need to finish the last book so I can get 4 new ones and keep the string going…my right knee has been giving me fits on the bike so I think I’ll put some voltaren on it tomorrow and see if that helps…I guess I’ll watch tv now…

Well…CEO’s of all the big box stores landed on the idiot trump with both feet telling him that his stupid tariffs are going to result in “bare shelves and runaway inflation” in about a month or so and that can be seen in the data from ports across the country that show that bookings of containers are down over 64% so get ready for bare shelves, folks…and rocketing prices…and you know that these CEOs will be first in line to raise prices on even American made products just because they can and the price restraining that imports provide is going away…I really don’t think you can screw up an economy more it you tried…and idiot boy took a humming economy and three months later the carnage is just getting started and it’s going to hurt low income maga voters most because most of them live on government assistance that is going to be cut…no more food stamps or medicaid for you…geez…
