Well…that was a little better…didn’t get up until 6:23 this morning and it’s about time I got some good sleep…I think part of it is that I got everything done I needed to yesterday and don’t have anything hanging over my head to do today…other than go back into town and clean this morning…it feels good to have my car inside again and my garage fits the Miata with room to spare…was thinking about putting the summer tires back on the car this week but it is supposed to snow a little on the day my son is moving back and I need to meet them at the house and the new tires are really bad in the snow…the winter tires are worn out and out of balance a little…we’ll see….just looked at the weather and I think I will put the new tires back on the car….the forecast says it will be rain/snow so I think I’ll be okay…but not til tomorrow…want to get the rug down here in the living room this afternoon after the run into town…it does feel good to have this house and know I can do whatever I want to it and don’t have to think about what anyone else wants….I think the pain from moving is finally subsiding since I don’t hurt too much this morning except for my hands…they are still stiff and sore and I think I’m going to have to take something for it…and it won’t help to go into town and clean for a couple of hours…I think it’s going to take 4 trips back to town just to pick up the stuff I didn’t move sat…I think I have a tote full of food to move today along with some tools….the ride will be much more pleasant after I get the new tires back on….more later….

Well…yeah, I know, this is not a political one but I made progress today and wanted to talk about it…first I did get out and ordered a new washer that will be delivered Sat…and when I was finding ABC, I found where my Daily Deals and Harbor Freight stores are…in the same complex only about 3 1/2 miles from here so that is really cool….and I called to get my garage door repaired and they came out this morning and fixed everything wrong with it for only 80 bucks…the opener is toast and I’ll have to get another one of those and hang it but I have my car in the garage! The door is really light and I can open it with one hand but I am going to wait a while to put an opener up…probably not until it gets warmer…I can live with that…and I had the rear interior door re-keyed today so I can’t lock myself out…never got those keys at closing…and that wasn’t bad so I did get a lot done already… and I am going to get to a political one as soon as I can find a topic….more later….

Well…damn, that didn’t last long…up at 5:04 and couldn’t get back to sleep so I am feeling pretty slow and tired this morning…and it may be that the stress from the past month or so is finally hitting me and contributing to that….just want to go back to bed but I know that won’t work and will make me even more frustrated so I’ll just lean on coffee and hope that helps….I did get a lot of work done yesterday and I am hoping for more progress today with getting the door repair scheduled and going out to buy my new washer….it’s kind of weird that you can’t just buy the washer on ABC’s website like you can do on any other one but I guess they’re just old fashioned…I did notice that the dryer downstairs is a GE, too, so I’ll have almost a matching pair…the new washer will have to be leveled since the floor where it goes is not too even but I have my big level and lots of shim material so that should be no problem….the drain in the kitchen is still running too slow for me so I may have to climb in the crawl space and open up the clean out port to find out where the clog is…all of the drain pipes are new so it should be an easy fix….not much to do today…right now, anyway….need coffee and to just sit here for a while and let the coffee work….more later…

Well…yeah, I know, I was going to get to some political stuff today but I just couldn’t help but work on this place and that kept me from reading enough to form any opinions…and I’m still just worn out after the last week of being busy as heck, too…I did get a bunch of stuff done…cleaned the new dresser and got the tracks waxed and it works like new now and it is just the right size for my room…pretty happy with it…and I got the kitchen straightened up with everything put away and the sluggish drain taken care of with some drain cleaner that I got at Meijers when I went out for the paper and to get the cabbage, carrots, and onion I need for the corned beef and cabbage I’m going to make later in the week…and I found a nice GE washer at ABC for only 550 bucks that I am going to go out and order tomorrow…along with calling the garage door company to get the repair scheduled…so, it’s been a busy day when I really needed to take the day off…but, I want to get this place organized …so I think I’m moving the totes downstairs and work on them one at a time…still going to be weeks to get it all done but I have to keep reminding myself that I have all the time I need now…don’t need to rush anything….and that is a good feeling…my hands and wrists hurt from carrying and that isn’t….

Well….I don’t know how I’m running today…I mean I don’t have anything to do…or I am not putting pressure on myself to do anything and the idea that I just have to putter around here and not think about moving anymore is such a good feeling….I did sleep okay last night and didn’t get up until 6 or so and was able to go right back to sleep until 7 without any of the mind tricks I’ve been using to eek out the small amount of sleep I’d been getting….I’m feeling pretty relaxed and that feels good after the constant stress I’ve been under getting ready for the move…and now I just have to go back into town in a few days and clean up the other house to get it ready for my son moving back on the 13th…and I have all my tools that need to be packed up…and I forgot my toaster and garbage can, too, so I’ll be filling up the car one more time….I do need to order the washing machine today so I can get it this week…and that is another thing I forgot…my laundry detergent….may have to make two trips for all that stuff…oh, and I forgot my string trimmer, too, damn I might have to make 3 trips…not much to do today…just coffee and more coffee…and I may make a run out to Meijers to get cabbage and red potatoes to go with the corned beef that I’m going to make in the instant pot…and I have a sluggish kitchen drain that I need drain cleaner for…and I need to put gas in the car…but, not right now…going to take it easy right now and watch some soccer with my second cup of coffee…..more later….

Well…finally, I’m moved in my new house and it’s only 2:33 and I’ve even taken the truck back…got the internet running, too, and that makes it just so damn cool….I can’t thank my friends enough for helping out today…the move went really fast with all those hands and I survived it with just a little pain that I will treat with some ibuprofen later and I hope to get back on the bike tomorrow and take a little tour around here but I need to find the bike lube to treat the chain and sprockets before I go out and I need to find my riding clothes, too, since they are packed somewhere and I have bags and bags to look through…I did get my bed set up so that is done and is about all I want to do for the rest of the day…just want to relax for a while and take it easy…but I know I’ll take some more stuff downstairs and I need to put the pizza away that my dughter bought for the movers…there is enough left for me to eat for a few days so I don’t think I’ll make the corned beef tomorrow…okay, need to take some time off…oh, and the truck only took 6 and 1/2 gallons of gas to fill it back up…that’s almost 12 miles to the gallon and that is pretty good for a truck that size going 75 miles an hour….

Well…another night of sucky sleep to get ready for moving day…and it sucks that it snowed last night after being dry all week…oh, well…I did get most of everything packed last night and I am getting started on the bed in a few minutes and need to tear the frame apart and stage the box spring and mattress and then clean up the coffee table and pack all my computer equipment in one of my briefcases…don’t feel too bad this morning but my hip is giving me fits and it is going to be bad all day…so I need to take some ibuprofen before I take my shower to get ahead of it…and this will probably be the last one of these today since I will have a lot of work to do when I get the truck emptied and returned and get back to the house…but, I think the first thing will be trying to get the internet working and then put the bed together…after that, I don’t think I’ll have the energy to do much else….it’s getting to time to pick up the truck and I have work to do so I should end here…off we go….

Well…yeah, I know…haven’t been keeping up with the political side of this thing lately and it is all because of the stress of buying the new house and getting ready to move has taken up all of my time it seems…we even did start moving some stuff today and it damn near killed Tom and I….well, not that bad but I feel old for the first time in my life from it…but we got a lot done with moving a Jeep full of stuff from here and then picking up a dresser and mirror for my room that my daughter found for me…and that thing was HEAVY….but will work great for me….and the packing continues right now but I think I’m almost there…everything too big to go in the car has been staged here in the living room and kitchen and I just need to take the bed apart in the morning and I will be ready…and then start loading as soon as I get the truck at 8…it is a little strange leaving this place after 15 months but it was always going to be temporary housing as I fixed it up and I am just happy that I was able to find a nice house and buy it…and I looked at the trails around Muskegon again today and they have added a new Meijer trail that goes all the way to Whitehall and Montague…which is something like 20 miles so it would be a 40 mile round trip and I know I’m going to do that one this summer…along with doing the one that goes around Muskegon lake and out to Lake Michigan….but, I don’t think they are clear yet so next week I’m going to explore the city streets for a bit just to get the lay of the land and figure out where things are…but first, I’m going to take two days off and make a big meal Sunday of corned beef, cabbage and carrots in the instant pot and just breath for a little while…I’m just damn worn out…one more day, and one more move….

Well…damn, another 5:04 morning this morning and I really do hope that this crap will end after the move tomorrow….still have tons of packing to do…okay, not tons but I do have 4 chairs and a bookcase that have to come up from downstairs…the chairs I can do but I’m going to need help with the bookcase with how bad my back has been lately…one thing I am going to have to do once I’m moved is get rid of the clothes I don’t wear anymore so I’ll have some space for the ones I do use…I wonder if I’ll feel guilty for taking a couple of days off after the move? Or, I wonder if I will be able to take a couple of days off with all of the stuff that will need to be put away? All I know is that I’m pretty damn worn out already and have two more days of moving to do….oh, well…..and I need to pack up the car later after Tom and I get back here from taking a load out to the house…going to take the stereo equipment out this morning and anything else that will fit in his jeep…and there is a dresser at a resale shop a couple of miles from the house that my daughter found that I want to go take a look at…only 89 bucks and I hope it will fit in the jeep…if not, we can take the u-haul over there tomorrow to pick it up…need to get a mirror to hang over it, too, but those are less than 20 bucks and that is not a bad price…okay, need more coffee and to read a little news before I get started for the day….more later…
