Well…it was an okay day today if a little busy…got the grocery run done and then on the bike for two rides…the shifter was darn near perfect and didn’t need any adjustment but I did do one small one just to get the 4th to 3rd shift a little better after I got back here but other than that, it is just so nice to have a new shifter on it and know that I’ll get the gear I want when I want it…after I had lunch of catfish and roasted potato, I got started on peeling the potatoes for the potato salad I’m making tomorrow…not sure why since I still barely taste anything but I have eggs that need to be used…made an early dinner of grilled pork chops and asparagus but could only eat half of a chop so I’ll have them for three more days…I did get my tablet set up for the doctor consultation on Monday and it works on zoom now so that’s cool…will bring the tripod up from downstairs to put it on so it won’t be so jerky…I do need to do some research before that but I’ve got 4 days to do that so no hurry….probably going to put the AC in the window tomorrow since it’s going to be really hot the next few days and I may need it to be able to sleep at all…want to clean it up first since I’m sure it has some cobwebs in it…okay, that’s enough…need to do my teeth and make ice…

Joe’s a winner…
Well…it seems like it’s a good thing to have someone who understands politics being president…especially after the doom and gloom of the debt ceiling deal and the “freedom” caucus howling that they were going to crash the economy since they hated that Joe only gave a little to get the deal and now they lose their shiny toy of debt ceiling extortion until after the 2024 election.The bill was voted out of committee this morning and it is heading toward a full house vote this afternoon and, since a lot of dems are going to vote for it, the bomb throwing repubs can’t do a damn thing about it…I really do hope they keep underestimating Joe…and he will continue to deliver for the American people…if this is a person with “severe cognitive decline”, I sure hope I’m that sharp when I’m 80….good job, Joe…
May 31st
Well…it’s the last day of the month and I’m not sure I like time passing…feeling so beat today that I’m not sure about the grocery run…I know I have to do it but it seems like way too much work right now…still haven’t gotten my fingernails clean after the bike work yesterday and I’m not sure if they will ever be clean again…just want to get back here and rest today…might even take the day off the bike….damn, I’m getting old….had to make a noise call last night on the idiot to the south of me who played the same damn song for an hour and a half last night….what the hell is the attraction in that? I really do think the people up here are just the most selfish assholes there are in the world….I’m so damn tired of the health problems I’m having that I just want to let them have me and get it over with….have three appointments next week and one of them is a zoom call and with my antiquated computer, I’m not sure if that is going to work…why the heck can’t they just call me? Not much to do today….I am so tired that all I want to do is go back to bed…..need to start paying my online bills today and that even seems to be too much….okay, I need more coffee and that should help…more later..
What a day…
Well…the bike has been giving me problems for the past week or so with the rear shifter seeming to lose it’s adjustment every day…I thought it might be the shift cable so I changed that out and worked on trying to adjust it for an hour and a half and remembered that I had this same problem with my first bike when the shifter wore out at about 12,000 miles…and this shifter had 27, 000 miles on it so I bit the bullet and changed it out for the new one that was on the black bike…what a pain in the butt…worked on that thing for 3 1/2 hours but I think I finally have it adjusted and it works for tomorrow’s rides…but damn that was a hell of a lot of work and I’m not sure if I’ll ever get my hands clean…I need some rest right now and some more water…it will take days to get everything cleaned up but that is going to wait til later or tomorrow….what a day…
May 30th
Well…damn, how does it go from 84 degrees to cold enough that the heat comes on? The weather has been weird out here and so damn dry that even the trees are looking wilted…slept okay last night but I am so damn worn out from all of the health crap that all I want is a day off to not think about it….just got an alert on my bottom banner that says: Air; poor…and I guess that means that the heat and lack of wind is going to let the air pollution get pretty bad later today….didn’t get much done yesterday but I am going to cook today…at least for one meal…going to make some catfish and fries in the air fryer and use the leftover burger for the second meal….and tomorrow I’ll grill some pork steaks that I thawed…and I’ll make some potato salad after I get some sweet pickles on the grocery run…the problem is I can’t taste a damn thing…what’s the point of eating? Not much to do today…just going to get on the bike in a minute to get the first ride in…crap…the weather widget just changed to “record high” and I wonder if I should drag the AC unit out of the basement? Probably not…don’t mind the heat…more later…
Lefties, quit whining…
Well…with the deal that Joe Biden made to keep the world’s economy from crashing with the hostage taking repubs, the left has started whining that he should have let them crash it…that compromising at all with the repubs is the wrong thing to do…and all I have to say is stop…stop your darn whining about how politics is supposed to work…Joe still got a pretty good deal and remember that in 2024, we can get rid of everything that Joe had to compromise about…if we all pull together and take back the House and hold the Senate…and again, the righties are howling about the deal so they didn’t get what they wanted, either…at least not all of it so let’s just give Joe the benefit of the doubt…hasn’t he done a lot already? Yes he has…so give him credit and a chance….geez…
May 29th
Well…man, I’m worn out today and need to get on the bike in less than 30 minutes if I’m going to get two rides in before the xfininty race starts at 11…out of bed at 7 and feel like I didn’t sleep at all…hmmmm…seems like I’ve said that before…lots of times…it’s going to be in the 80′s today and that will be okay if the assholes out here don’t thump their bullshit all day and I can open my windows…might have to water the lawn again today…okay, the little weather widget at the bottom of my screen just popped up with a “near record temps” alert and I’m okay with that…it was a race day yesterday and it’s going to be another one today with both the xfinity race and the cup race postponed til today….so I’ll be entertained or at least not too bored today….I was going to make potato salad today with having eggs in the fridge but I don’t have sweet pickles to put in it so I’ll probably wait til wed and the normal grocery run….not much to do today…just need to get going and get on the bike here in a few minutes but I sure don’t feel like it….had too many days off last week to take another one off today but I’d like to…more later….
A deal on the debt?
Well…it the news reports are correct, it looks like deal on the debt ceiling has been reached…and to hear the hard right whine and cry, it looks like it’s not a bad one other than work requirements for food stamps and Medicaid…it’s going to give us two years of breathing room since it pushes the next battle all the way to 2024…I haven’t read much about it yet but I do know that if it is done, my SS is going to keep coming and that is a good thing…I’ll come back later when I read about it…
May 28th
Well…up at 6:17 this morning and I really thought it was later looking at how light it was…but it’s only 51 degrees out there so that is going to make the bike ride pretty damn cold…have to get out by 7:30 if I’m going to get the first ride in before raceday starts with the F1 race from Monaco at 8:55…not sure when I’ll get the second ride in but it looks like after Indy around 3:30 or so…I really look forward to this day every year with three races on ending with the Coke 600 tonight…had an okay day yesterday but only got the lawn watered…today is going to be a write off with just the bike ride and not even any cooking since I have leftover burgers and some Italian sausage in the fridge…I may even fire up the grill to cook the sausage…I think I’m going to be sore on the bike this morning since it hurts to just sit here right now…I wonder if I’ll only do one ride today? Not sure….I did have to make a noise call last night and that depresses the hell out of me…what the hell is wrong with these assholes? Not much to do today…just need to drag my butt out here in a minute…okay, in 35 minutes and that will give me enough time to get another cup of coffee in me….more later…
Got two rides in…
Well…it felt pretty good to get out on the bike today but I think it’s going to hurt later since it does right now…even went out for the second one in just a t-shirt and shorts and that was fun….it’s strange that my back doesn’t hurt at all right now and it should…one good thing is that I can have two meals again with getting two rides in and I wonder if the two eggs and two slices of toast count as a meal…I really want to grill the pound of burger that I have in the fridge and I probably will here in a little while…need to take it easy for a bit and do the dishes first…had to water the lawn today to keep it from dying completely since there is no rain in the forecast til two weeks or so and it is getting crunchy…going to make bigger burgers this time and only get 4 out of a pound…so I probably will get to that soon….
