Well…wanted to get to the last one for the month and one fell into my lap…and it really make me smile…in NC this week a group of religious organizations backed by the UCC (United Church of Christ) filed suit to overturn the ban on same sex marriage there…and the really neat little twist is that they are basing it on religious grounds…the same weapon that the haters on the right have been using to prevent these marriages until now. What the UCC is saying is that their right to practice their religion and run it as they see fit is being restricted by the ban on same sex marriages there and are using the first amendment that states that there can be no laws that restrict the free exercise of religion to hit back at the haters since the UCC says that it is okay in their church for same sex couples to get married. I applaud these creative people and the turnabout that they have played on the right….I just hope that the judge that gets the case sees it as clear as it it…

April 30th
Well….it was a trying day yesterday and i am still feeling it today…with no sleep, I was not of sorts for the whole day and I don’t feel much better today with being up and down all night but don’t have a lot to do today so I can deal with that…I do need to do some work around here and get the bike ride in but I think I’ll keep it low key the rest of the day…still sore everywhere and I had hoped that getting more and more active on the bike would have started to address it but the wind blowing 25 plus has not helped….need to take it easy for a while before I go out for the papers…more later…
A few things…
Well…there have been a few things happen over the past couple of days that I thought deserved comment so here we go…first, a federal court has stricken the new, repub sponsored voter id law for doing exactly what the repubs wanted it to do…disenfranchise the poor and minorities and I hope that this is the start of the end of the false “voter fraud” crap the the repubs have been pushing for decades now even though none has ever been found…there was another good decision by the supreme court yesterday that says that the EPA really does have the power to regulate greenhouse gasses under the clean air act…this is another one of those repub sponsored attacks on the EPA since they truly believe that their bosses should be allowed to pollute as much as they want while pushing the costs of that pollution on the American people; not the polluters who are actually doing it…so, this should put the rest to these types of suits especially since this was a 6-2 decision with no wavering by the majority…so sorry polluters…geez…
Hater in chief…
Well…have just read an article about ole sister Sarah’s speech in front of the NRA this past week and I can’t believe how much hate has permeated the right since she was unleashed on the country…and, this last speech had one line that distilled it down to it’s essence…”If I were in charge, waterboarding would be baptizing terroists” or some such nonsense as that….so, this darling of the right, this supposed upholder of everything American is willing to discard everything the US has stood for since it’s inception just to look tough and throw red meat to the lunatics that are now running the repub party? She should be called the hater in chief with views like that…hate the Muslims, hate the gays, hate the progressives, hate the immigrants, hate the minorities…hell, hate everyone unless they are part of the tiny fringe in this country who still think slavery was a good idea and that any white person is just better than anyone else….this is what they’ve devolved into…and she is the hater in chief…or grifter in chief….either one fits…or both fit….geez…
April 29th
Well…have been up since 4:16 with no luck trying to get back to sleep so it looks like a nap day later on….not sure why the not sleeping…okay, I do…no cocktail night last night and the pattern is always the same…so, I should be used to it by now…there were dreams that were repeaters and strange but they have already faded and I’m not sure what the subject was…..didn’t do much yesterday but clean a little and it looks like the same for today….they are coming to service the furnace today so that means a lot of work for me, too, and lots of Febreeze….not much to do today…after the service call, I’m going to just take it easy and make lunch…more later…
Second one for the day…
Well…I have been working hard to find some topics today…well…not really…I did go out for a bike ride in the 25mph plus wind and it was just brutal…on one downhill, I got hit with a gust that must have been between 40 and 50 and when I stopped pedaling, I was pushed backwards up the hill…just like a huge hand had just reached down to pull me…I laughed so damn hard at that one…it was just so unexpected and being able to stay on the bike and ride it backwards up a hill must have looked pretty cool to others….too bad there weren’t any others….other than that fun, the ride was just pure torture and I couldn’t think of anything other than getting done…and riding is where I normally get quite a few ideas….or process the news from the papers to turn it into topics…but, I won’t apologize for this little slump I’m in…not yet, anyway…that will come next month if this continues…more later…
April 28th
Well…it was an okay if lazy day yesterday and I am running late this morning for some reason…okay, it was from watching last night’s episode of GOT….and it is still hard to get moving…still sore all over but the back is getting better so that is something…slept okay but the tooth is hurting again and I can’t figure it out…probably grinding them again sleeping but that is getting tiresome…didn’t get on the bike yesterday but I am going today even thought the wind is just as strong today….it is a little warmer and it should be up to over 47 by the time I get done working out….will just have to go slow into the wind on the way out and then go with it on the way back…not much to do today…I am going to clean a little but that is about it…the trash needs to go out too with the sinking chicken tray driving me nuts…more later…
Trying to keep up again…
Well…it has been a lazy day today and I even skipped the bike ride with the wind blowing over 20…and I have been thinking about topics for today without much luck….there is the whole racism thing that has been running through the news lately and the funniest part off that is any repub coming out to say they are shocked, shocked, that there are racists in the repub party…look, today’s repub party is based on racism, sexism, and hatred and they wear it as a badge of honor…voter suppression, anti immigration, hatred of gays and on an on are planks in the repub platform….and, let’s keep away from the false equivalency that everyone is that way…none of the progressives that I know are and you never hear anyone on the left saying this crap….geez….
April 27th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and it was fun to get out and have a couple with K but the bike ride was a trial with the lungs not working as well as I expected….slept okay and had weird dreams last night about making money by letting some group of Japanese people kill me while they watched…and the strange thing was that I was not afraid of the dying part…I was afraid of the pain that the bomb was going to cause before I died or that I wasn’t going to die and I would have to deal with being broken…then, I woke up and realized it hasn’t gotten to that point….yet….and, the Wings lost and are out of the playoffs which was not unexpected but still disappointing….I did have this thought that I miss “Jazz Brunch” that I used to listen to on LAV every Sunday morning…so I put “Kind of Blue” on the player to go out to get the paper this morning…not the same thing…just something missing from it…maybe it’s life that has something missing? Not sure about that…more later….
This is pretty funny…
Well…have been following the whole Cliven Bundy thing for a couple of days now and I find the reporting of the thing by Fox to be quite funny…when ole Cliven was just a thief that stole a million dollars from you and me, Fox championed him as being some kind of a patriot, as they do with all of the thieves on the right when they break the law…never mind that the repubs are supposed to be the “law and order” party…but, the latest reporting on Fox of ole Cliven’s racist rant is interesting to say the least…in that it doesn’t exist there…nope, not one peep from even ole Cliven’s biggest supporter and publicity agent, Sean Hannity….and that is pretty funny…not that Fox even gives a damn about the crap they spout….it’s just funny that they backed the wrong guy and it blew up in their faces…as it almost always does with each and every new American hero they try to promote…geez…
