Well…I am laughing my butt off at the “new” Ryan budget that is so much more of the same old crap that even the Murdock owned Wall Street Journal is panning it…how many more times does he think he’ll have to increase the tax cuts for the rich and gut everything else before he is successful? Again, this is the definition of insanity “doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results” and shows that the repubs are so delusional that they can’t even think of anything else to do…even though the American people (who generally have more sense than this idiot) soundly, roundly rejected this nonsense in the last election. Exactly who are these guys governing for? Oh, yep, stupid question….the same old folks that don’t believe in economics, or science, or anything they don’t hear in the echo chambers of the right. I just have one thing to say…”keep it up!” at least until 2014 when we can send Ryan and the rest of the austerity nuts back to the tea parties they came from. Geez…

March 12th
Well…running a little late today but thought I’d get this one done while I wait for the car to melt…kind of a surprise having to do that with it being over 50 yesterday….it was an okay day but the overdoing it from Sunday made it harder than I like it to be and I do not like feeling like crap all day…but, I was good last night and I feel much better today so that is a good start…sleeping was a a challenge again last night and I think I got about 4 hours but that is almost the new normal and I guess I’ll just have to live with it….I still think I may have a bug…or probably it just year round allergies…that would be a pain if that is the case but maybe I’ll try some OTC stuff to see if it helps….not much to do today…looks like pool will be today but that is about it….more later….
More on the Emergency Managers…
Well…tried to get out on the bike but the problem seems to be that the rear gears are just worn out and need to be replaced…but that is not why I’m here…with the imminent takeover of Detroit by the state of Michigan with the naming off an emergency manager, I felt it was time to throw a few more details in about how they have worked in the past. First, let me say that the real intent of these anti-democratic actions by the state and the repubs that are running it is to do one thing…to break the unions and move many thousands of people out of the middle class…it’s as simple as that. Sure, Detroit is in financial trouble but it is from population flight, a deteriorating tax base, and the cutting of state revenue sharing that has hit all of the towns and cities across the state…and the revenue sharing has gone down to give tax breaks to business, the repubs one size fits all of governance…it’s raining, cut taxes, revenue is down, cut taxes, if the sky is blue, cut taxes….all the while never even asking business to prove they are creating jobs for all of those tax cuts. The other bad part of this whole mess is that, when you look at the numbers, the cites taken over by them do not get better….but, you know the repubs think facts and numbers have a “liberal bias” and really don’t pay any attention to them…they just hate democracy so much they have to try to rig the system any way they can and this is just another tool like voter suppression to keep them in power…geez…
March 11th
Well…it was a really long day yesterday with going out for sunday funday with K and staying out way too long, and then having a cocktail night to finish it up…so, I feel like crap today and I am having a hard time getting going…I know part of it is the time change since it is really only 8 right now instead of 9 but that is no excuse…okay, it is an excuse and I am going to use it…I don’t remember missing yesterday’s post but it looks like I did..or, it could be that the site just lost it again…I may be able to get back on the bike today but, to do that, I need to get my butt in gear and get the workout in and get moving….more later…

Just a depressing day…
Well…sitting here watching “Leaving Las Vegas”, one of my favorite movies…and remembered I hadn’t come back here for the second one today…it has been a hard, depressing day today with the troubles that T has been having that I can’t get out of my head…and that has caused me to lose interest in politics…and everything else, really…so, I think this one is cheating to keep the numbers up…there are a few topics that need to be addressed, like the Menendez non-scandal…and the idiot O’Keefe paying out 100K to someone…and there was one other one that I just can’t remember right now….and now, I’m just waiting for it to get to cocktail time….so, on that note, I am going to go back to the couch and watch more of the movie…
March 9th
Well…running late again today but, this time, I have a reason for it…made up a brine for a pork loin I’m cooking today and when I put it in the fridge, the damn bag came open spilling the brine all over the inside of my fridge…including the thyme leaves that I had in it…those tiny little things are just a huge pain to clean up and it took me almost 20 minutes to make it presentable…so now I’m back to soccer and coffee and this…slept okay last night but must have been spinning all night…found one pillow across the room and the top sheet was wadded up into a little ball at the foot of the bed….but, there were no dreams and I can’t figure that one out…it was an okay day yesterday but didn’t do much but read…not a bad day…and I did get 6 resumes out…still no response but at least there was something…not much to do today…going to just watch soccer, races, and the Wings so at least I will have something to do…along with cleaning, that is…more later…
Marco Rubio joins the list of republican idiots…
Well…the great, new hope of the repubs has begun his slow motion meltdown, after the water incident, that is by coming out the other day to say that he is in favor of letting the government shut down if Obamacare is not repealed in trade for it. Now, this is the new repub party? This guy is just not too bright if he thinks repealing a program that over 60% of Americans like is a good idea…but, it is just like the repubs….continually fighting the last battle that they lost…and acting like they won. I just want to hear them tell the millions of people that have pre-existing conditions and have insurance now through Obamacare that “you’re out of luck”; that the ideology of the right wing nuts in the repub party is more important than their health, that the profits of the insurance companies are more important that being able to not declare bankruptcy from the lifetime caps that have been removed…I can just see the ads now…”Marco Rubio takes away your healthcare just because he is a self-centered jerk…”
There seems to be something going on in this country that I never thought I’d see…that people are starting to think again, that people are saying enough to the repubs nonsense and just want the fights to stop so they can get on with their lives….or maybe I’m just reading DailyKos too much…I like hope, though…

Well…running late on a Friday and the only reason for it is that I just don’t care…okay, that’s not entirely true but life has become this overwhelming burden that I deal with by shifting down into a lower gear and into survival mode…that said, I did sleep okay last night but I know it was the cocktails and not any peace that I have found…okay…need to elevate the mood here and stop the whining…it looks like it is going to be a nice day today with sunshine and temps in the 40′s…so that is something to enjoy…and the car is working okay so that’s a plus…yesterday was just more of the same but I am still healthy and can think a little…not much to do today…I am going to have more coffee and watch Graham Norton…but, from there, I have no plans and think I will just let the day flow as it will…more later…
The republicans are stealing again…
Well…in case you had any doubts about the sudden embracing of medicaid expansion that we’ve seen by repub governors and are trying to figure out the change of heart, don’t bother…the real reason for this sudden concern for the poor is just typical repub through and through…they have figured out that they can steal a bunch of this money for their owners in the insurance industry by asking for waivers that would allow them to turn medicaid from the government run program it is, to some kind of hybrid that would take the money, give it to the insurance companies, and then have the insurance companies cover these folks. Yep, you heard it right, the repubs, the champions of eliminating waste and fraud (yeah, right) are going to take a program that has 8% administrative costs and hand it over to insurance companies who have 20 to 30% administrative costs…for example, a program like Florida where the expansion was 3 billion dollars, would immediately hand over 600 million in costs to the insurance companies, of which at least a hundred million would go straight into the pockets of the ceo’s for their bonuses. So, instead of covering more people with the extra money and reaping the savings of scale in the medicaid program, the repubs are willing to force them into a less efficient program just to line the pockets of the insurance companies. How much worse can these guys get? We might just as well be a banana republic…the repubs are acting like we are….geez…
