Well…sitting here watching Man U play Brugge in the champions league and thought I’d try to get something out today even though I’m at the goal for the month….it has been one of those low energy days that I don’t like too much and I’m kind of sure that it is from not eating enough yesterday….just couldn’t do it….okay.. going to go look for a topic…okay, here’s a sick one…the repubs are at it again, fighting the expansion of Medicaid in Alaska since it is such a conservative value to deny poor people access to healthcare while they subsidize the hell out of business and the lawyers that will be bringing this suit…this will probably be led by Paul Clement who has been sucking the peoples money for years fighting gay marriage and anything else that would make this a better country…these fees have grown to be in the millions for this guys firm and to me is just another of the incestous forms of “wingnut welfare” where the repubs get their cronies involved to be able to bleed the taxpayers for their evil crusades….okay…that’s enough for now…need to go back to the match before my mood goes completely sour…

The real death panels…
Well….after hearing the repubs lie and lie about the supposed “death panels” that they just knew was a part of the ACA, I find it ironic and a little bit sick that the repub governors who have refused the medicaid expansion are actually causing people to die without this needed healthcare. A new study done by Harvard about the effects of these asses and their refusal estimate that from 7-14,000 people will die per year as a direct result of the repub governors trying to score political points…even at the low point, isn’t it just wrong that these guys accept the killing of 7,000 US citizens just so they can go to their extreme right wing donors and get money since these deaths are what people like the Koch’s want? They just don’t give a damn about anyone but the rich and playing the political game…shame on them…what a bunch of immoral asses…geez…
Breathtaking hatred…
Well…if you have been following the news lately, you’ve seen how the idiot repub governors across this country have basically abandoned the poor by refusing the medicaid expansion that the feds would pay for from savings that are contained int he ACA…but the idiot governor of Georgia has gone over the edge on his hatred….it’s bad enough that 4 rural Georgia hospitals have already closed due to un-reimbursed emergency care that would have been covered by the Medicaid expansion…but now, this idiot is showing his true colors and the true colors of most of the right. Nathan Deal, the governor, has proposed that the federal law, proposed and signed by
saint Ronnie, that requires hospitals to care for the uninsured be repealed…meaning that any hospital would be required by the threat of bankruptcy to not care for anyone who is not insured since they would never see a dime for that care….and would allow the sick to be turned away to die…the Ayn Randian winner takes all philosophy that treats the poor as disposable since they are the “takers” from society and have nothing to contribute. I am not really stunned or even surprised at this from the right these days…shame on you Deal…and your cronies in Georgia…geez…
Cruel, wonderful irony…
Well…if there wasn’t enough evidence that the repubs are irony challenged, we have just one of the most delicious ones I have seen n a long, long time with the refusal of the idiot repub governors to allow for Medicaid expansion in their states. Since Medicaid is funded by general tax revenues, the people in the red states that refuse the expansion are going to have to help pay for the expansion in the states that accepted it…so, for example, Texas is going to be contributing 9 billion dollars that they will get nothing for…the same for other red states like Georgia who will pay 3 billion and get nothing, and Florida who will pay 5 billion and get nothing. so, let’s recap…just because these prick governors just don’t give a damn about poor people and are trying to do anything to derail the ACA,, they are going to help pay for Michigan’s expansion while their people get nothing for their money…if I lived in one of those states, I would be really pissed off…but, they keep electing these thugs so maybe they deserve it…geez…
Unintended consequences….
Well…have been reading lately about the fallout from the decision that many repub governors have made to not allow the medicaid expansion in their states…whether it just ODS or the fact that the repubs hate poor people, the results are the same…to deny millions of people any sort of health insurance and hurt people mainly in red states. But, there is is an unintended consequence that these idiot governors didn’t see coming…without this expansion, many hospitals can no longer shoulder the burden of providing free care to the uninsured…so what do they do? Across the red states hospitals are closing in record numbers…many in rural areas that invariably vote for these repub idiots leaving no care for anyone. So, the smug, insured repubs who think that it’s not their problem that the poor have no health care are finding that they now live in areas where even they will have to drive 50 miles or more to the nearest hospital…a long way to go when you have a heart attack, stroke or even a car accident….I think it serves them right…maybe this will be another instance where the repubs don’t give a damn about anything until it affects them? Just another time where they will do anything to hate on the people of this country…even if it costs more money or even kills people…what a nice bunch…geez…
No one does stupid like the repubs…
Well…have been thinking about doing a weekly series on the abject stupidity coming out of the repubs these days, and that may happen, but I just think I’ll do this one first and see how it goes…not sure if you know but there is still a huge controversy going on in Alabama where the repub idiots there are spending most of their time trying to get around court decisions that outlaw teaching creationism in their schools…and one of the reasons that was used in the debate why evolution just can’t be true is that no one has been able to take an e-coli bacteria and make it evolve into a human in a laboratory…yep, I am not making this up…this was suggested by one of the elected repubs there…man, the stupid runs deep in Alabama.
The second bit of stupid goes out to all of the repub governors who have decided that the poor residents of their states do not deserve any type of healthcare and have rejected the Medicaid expansion that would be paid for by the feds…and the funny part (well..none of this is funny) is that it has been calculated that rejecting this expansion is going to cost these states almost 9 billion dollars in uncompensated care that these idiots are going to end up paying for anyway….so, to recap, cover all your people for free, or cost your states billions….which would a smart person choose?…as always, it just all ideology to these idiots…and poor people pay…geez…
The real “death panels”…
Well…as I read more and more about the asshole repub governors who refuse to help the poor in their states by allowing the free expansion of Medicaid, a new study about the effects of this refusal caught my eye and the irony started to drip….in the study, the estimates of the effects of blocking Medicaid result in an extra 3,000 people dying each year in Texas who could easily be saved if they had access to healthcare. While we had the fake death panels that the repubs were so obsessed with in the last two elections, the repub governors are now sentencing thousands of real people to death just for some silly assed “principle” that the growth of the federal government has to be stopped by poor people…and if that means that some of them die, oh, well, they just don’t give a damn…and, if you multiply this by the 15 governors who have rejected the Medicaid expansion, the repubs are killing 45,000 Americans just because they are stupid pricks…that should be in every dem ad for the next season…what a bunch of crap…geez…
The republicans are stealing again…
Well…in case you had any doubts about the sudden embracing of medicaid expansion that we’ve seen by repub governors and are trying to figure out the change of heart, don’t bother…the real reason for this sudden concern for the poor is just typical repub through and through…they have figured out that they can steal a bunch of this money for their owners in the insurance industry by asking for waivers that would allow them to turn medicaid from the government run program it is, to some kind of hybrid that would take the money, give it to the insurance companies, and then have the insurance companies cover these folks. Yep, you heard it right, the repubs, the champions of eliminating waste and fraud (yeah, right) are going to take a program that has 8% administrative costs and hand it over to insurance companies who have 20 to 30% administrative costs…for example, a program like Florida where the expansion was 3 billion dollars, would immediately hand over 600 million in costs to the insurance companies, of which at least a hundred million would go straight into the pockets of the ceo’s for their bonuses. So, instead of covering more people with the extra money and reaping the savings of scale in the medicaid program, the repubs are willing to force them into a less efficient program just to line the pockets of the insurance companies. How much worse can these guys get? We might just as well be a banana republic…the repubs are acting like we are….geez…
