Well….as promised, I’m back with some comments on the senate election in Alabama that was held yesterday and the stunning upset that saw the dem, Doug Jones, defeat the child molester, Roy Moore. One of the problems I saw from this race was that there was almost no policy discussions during the campaign, but just the standard, cliched, demonization of Jones when the repubs tried to paint him as a tax and spend liberal…even trying to use Nancy Pelosi as the boogyman to scare voters into voting for Moore. But, none of that could overcome the fact that Moore is probably the worst candidate they could have run…being tossed out of the Alabama supreme court twice for misconduct and for his statements that being gay should be against the law among all the other bigoted crap that came out of his mouth. I think the fact that the idiot trump supported Moore also weighed in the loss and gives me hope that trump will be the anchor the sinks the repubs next year. So, let’s bask in the win for just a little while but then get back to work building a truly diverse coalition that will win us the house and possibly the senate next year…congrats Doug!

The repubs own Roy Moore…
Well…with the probable election of Roy Moore to the senate from Alabama, the repub party has now become the party of lawbreakers, pedophiles, and liars…yeah, I know, no big revelation there…they have been that way since the era of Newt Gingrich. Now the next question to be asked is “who are the people who would elect an accused child molester?” Now, I don’t want to tar all of the people of Alabama with being racist idiots, but the polls show that many of them are…and the evangelicals are the worst….with 70% of them thinking that whatever Roy Moore might have done, and that includes getting thrown off the Alabama supreme court twice for breaking the law, he is still better than the much more qualified dem running…I guess they would vote for a murderer if he would just spout that he has religion even though, like the idiot trump, he doesn’t live it. I have tried to not tar a group of people with a broad brush over the past few years, but the people of Alabama have proven to the country that they are the racist, misogynist, idiots that they appear to any rational observer….they have the chance to blow that stereotype up by voting for Doug Jones tomorrow..but they won’t…geez….
The repubs are perfectly okay with this….
Well….have just been reading about the repubs candidate for the senate in Alabama, Roy Moore, and the allegation that he molested a bunch of teenage girls when he was in his 30′s…the youngest one being 14 years old at the time. And what is the reaction from the rest of the repubs…I’m talking to you, Mitch McConnell, nothing but crickets…which says to me that they are perfectly okay with child molestation….same sex marriage is icky but child molestation is okay. This self-righteous bigot spent his entire career in the courts of Alabama trying to force his bigoted take on christianity on the entire state…going so far as to ignore the Obergfell decision that expanded marriage equality, saying he had more authority than the supreme court…and getting removed twice for refusing to follow the law. Now, we know that, again, the law is for other people, not Roy Moore…and child molestation is just peachy with him…typical repub hypocrite…..
Republican economics…
Well…as repubs elected to state houses trash the economies of their states with their faith based economics, more and more examples come up where it is clear that all repubs are on the grift…enriching themselves and their cronies while cutting everything that makes a state livable for the masses. The latest example comes from Alabama, where the repub governor Robert Bentley just gave his staff, and others, raises of almost 75K per year while they were passing a law that prevents any municipality from raising the minimum wage to allow people to get a living wage…yep, you heard that right…enrich the rich and the people that have been giving tax breaks to corporations and cutting services across the state get a big raise for it…and this is not the only shenanigans the idiot Bentley has done…just last year he took 2 million dollars from the BP oil settlement that is supposed to be used to help the people that were hurt by the spill, and used that money to rebuild a little used governors mansion for his use…these guys have turned these states into little more than tin pot dictatorships where they steal everything for themselves and the hell with the people they are supposed to govern….this is the modern repub, folks..take a good look…geez…
No one does stupid like the repubs…
Well…have been thinking about doing a weekly series on the abject stupidity coming out of the repubs these days, and that may happen, but I just think I’ll do this one first and see how it goes…not sure if you know but there is still a huge controversy going on in Alabama where the repub idiots there are spending most of their time trying to get around court decisions that outlaw teaching creationism in their schools…and one of the reasons that was used in the debate why evolution just can’t be true is that no one has been able to take an e-coli bacteria and make it evolve into a human in a laboratory…yep, I am not making this up…this was suggested by one of the elected repubs there…man, the stupid runs deep in Alabama.
The second bit of stupid goes out to all of the repub governors who have decided that the poor residents of their states do not deserve any type of healthcare and have rejected the Medicaid expansion that would be paid for by the feds…and the funny part (well..none of this is funny) is that it has been calculated that rejecting this expansion is going to cost these states almost 9 billion dollars in uncompensated care that these idiots are going to end up paying for anyway….so, to recap, cover all your people for free, or cost your states billions….which would a smart person choose?…as always, it just all ideology to these idiots…and poor people pay…geez…
