Michelle Bachmann is still an idiot…

Well….just a short little one about the latest craziness from ole Michelle….yesterday, talking to some of her supporters, she “blamed” Obama and his foreign policy ineptitude for the “Arab Spring” that saw the removal of many dictators from the northern Africa Arab states. Now, let me get this straight…it’s a bad thing that millions of people now live in countries that have budding democracies and more freedom than they had? Oh, I get it, freedom is okay and necessary for the US but for anyone else it’s destabilizing and a threat to Israel. This woman is just one of the stupidest people I have ever heard speak and everyone should just ignore her instead of giving weight to the nonsense she spouts…does she truly believe that nothing can happen in any country around the world without the permission of the US? This is third grade level foreign policy and drips of the desperation that is rampant in her campaign with her plummeting poll numbers….bye bye Michelle…

September 30th

Well…another night and up early today…have to give G a ride to pick up her car at 7 and thought I’d get this one out before I go….no dreams to report and sleep was really crappy so I do feel a little slow this morning….man, the wind is blowing almost 30 so I may not get to my goal of 183 days on the bike…and it is supposed to keep up all day…maybe that’s a good thing…it has been 161 days of pain and it might be a good idea to rest one…who knows? If you were here yesterday..or look down, I was almost lucid and had some original ideas and it felt so good to have the words flow again like they used to…but don’t get used to it…it has become so hit and miss lately that I don’t know what is going on….not much to do today…the car thing, of course, then out to see T later for a couple, and the Tigers start the playoffs against New York with Verlander pitching….so there are things to do….this is number 60 for the month so I may not come back for another….I’ll try but no promises…

Here’s today’s lyric: “she’s coming round the corner, her body’s just a blur….I peel out like the Flash, it don’t mean boo to her…”

This is a real grass-roots revolt…

Well…I was going to go off on Nolan Finley again for his nonsense that the left is irritated with the tea party because they tell the truth…but as everyone knows, the right has their version of “truth” that never fits up with the facts…and Nolan is just a little. little, man trying to hold onto a past that is fast reaching its end. What I did want to talk about is the “Occupy Wall Street” protest that is going on in New York as we speak and one of its aims to call attention to the continued thievery that is rampant; aided by the tea party and it’s corporate overlords. I find it funny that one of the reasons that the media has been slow to cover this story is that they don’t have a clear agenda or should I say a set of talking points that lends itself to the 5 second sound bite that “news” has degenerated into. But, that is the whole point….a true grass roots movement that is trying to take on what is wrong with this country can’t be summed up into talking points….the mess that the repubs have made is so wide reaching and insidious that it takes time to figure out what the people need to fix the situation. A true grass roots rebellion is run by the people rebelling and the diversity of it’s ideas comes from the diversity of the people in it…of the “99′ers”, those of us that are not in the 1% who continue to take, and take, and take without regard to the damage they are doing to the rest of the country. I also find it funny that this true movement of the people is being compared to the sham movement of the tea party; which is bankrolled by the billionaires and whose mouths are filled by the talking points those billionaires want them to say.

I want to end with just a word of thanks to those who are on the front lines in New York and to the rest of us who try everyday to wrest control of this country out of the hands of the 1%…..maybe this time money won’t be able to run us over and leave us for roadkill…I can hope anyway….

September 29th

Well….another good night, if a little boring but the Tigers won their last game of the season so that was pretty cool….I was good (that’s getting to be a habit) so I feel okay today with some energy but that is necessary since I do have things to do today…well…just groceries and more cleaning but that is something, isn’t it? Three days in a row with no dreams so I’m a little disappointed but that’s pretty normal….I might be able to watch last night’s Wings game on NHL this morning at 9 so I need to get out of here on time at 8 so I can get my coffee since it’s about the only time I’m out around people and I need to keep that up….I’m still irritated about Family Fare but I know I should just let it go since that would fit into my philosophy….so I guess I will…I will try again for a political one here later….

Today is 161 days and counting….here’s the song lyric: “you walked in, and my life began again, just when I spent the last piaster I could borrow…”

More stuff you probably don’t care about…

Well…it’s been a busy day that was fun-filled with cleaning, cleaning, cleaning and I’m now thinking if I should reward myself and have a beer to watch the final regular season Tiger’s game…..probably not since I am trying to be good until the first playoff game Friday night…and the Wings game tonight is not on tv so I can’t use that for an excuse….I think I may still have that bug that I got a couple of weeks ago but it could be that the allergies are finally kicking in…it has been a good summer for that and I have not had to take any medication…see, I told you you wouldn’t care about this stuff…I don’t even care about it so I’m going to stop here and go watch the Tigers…one last thing….if it’s clear, go out and look up later…maybe some northern lights tonight….

The republicans vision…

Well..if we want to see the republicans vision in action, all we have to do is look at the state of Texas and the latest attack on schools there…on top of the 4 billion dollars that was chopped out of education in the latest budget, there is now a commission appointed by Rick Perry that is deciding on whether to give the companies that own the oil refineries there refunds on their taxes to pay for upgrades in their pollution controls. Now, let me get this straight…Perry and his cronies are going to give some of the most profitable companies in the world tax breaks to pay for something they are responsible for and shift the burden to the children and college students of Texas? This is class warfare and corporate welfare at it’s worst…what would happen if a regular citizen were to ask for tax breaks to buy a new car since is old one pollutes more than a new one? The repub establishment would be red-faced, screaming socialism, and lecturing the citizen that he or she needs stand on their own…that they can’t come to government to fix their problems. But it’s a different story when your big political donor comes with it’s hand out….that is the distilled vision that the repubs have for America…geez…

September 28th

Well…another day and night…lost at pool again but had a lot of fun so that is okay…I was good when I got home so I feel okay this morning but had to get up and get moving to give G a ride…well…I’m already up at this time everyday so it’s not any big thing to get moving a little early….there is a spider alert going on today with the weather cooling off…many, many, of them all around the bathroom again so I’ll have to spray around the doors today to try to keep them out…that will be about it for today, though, and I think I’ll revel in the fact that I don’t have much to do…..the bathroom does need work and that may be the plan for the day after the normal routine…

Oh, one last thing….boycott Family Fare…and today will be 161 on the bike if it stops raining…no song lyric yet…have to get on the bike for a while to find one….

Okay…found a lyric when I was in the car: “I’ve got a Coupe DeVille, I’ve got a bed in the house where you once lived…I’ve had a few cheap thrills, but they cost me a lot more than I could give…”

Okay, explain this to me…

Well…this little nugget has been gnawing at me for a while…well, at least a couple of weeks since ole Snyder weighed in on the obesity epidemic….I hope you’ll remember a few months back when Michelle Obama came out for measures that would help stem the obesity epidemic here in the US…..including that individuals need to take responsibility for their own health by eating better and getting off the couch….and she was vilified by the repubs for what they said was extension of the “nanny state” and being the nanny in chief….then, we have ole gov Snyder here in Michigan do the same thing and the GR press and the other right wing newspapers here cheer that someone had the bravery to take on the health of the people of the state….another case of breathtaking hypocrisy by the repubs and their propaganda arms in the media. When are we going to call these people on this nonsense? When are these newspapers going to stop looking at this stuff as good if it comes from the right and bad if it comes from anyone else? geez….

September 27th

Well….I did go out for a couple last night with G but took it easy and was good when I got home so I feel okay today…the boredom was as normal and endurable but I do need to find some new things to do. Not really any discernible dreams to speak of so I won’t….I am really sore on both shoulders today so I must have slept wrong on them and that is getting to be a pain….yeah, that might be funny…not sure…I do have a few things to do today…out to shoot pool later with Tom…oh, only one thing to do and I am going to try to be good when I get back here…I kind of like having energy when I get up so maybe I’ll try that….I will get to another one today since I did get caught up yesterday and there’s only three days left in the month….

Here’s today’s lyric: “Gravedigger, when you dig my grave, can you make it shallow so I can feel the rain…”

Oh, and today will be day 160…23 to go…

This one’s personal…

Well….there is something that has been boiling my blood lately and that is the increasing erosion of our privacy by entities large and small ranging from the Onstar that keeps recording your driving actions even after you cancel the service to the one that spurred this one….the institution of a “card” that is necessary to receive the sale prices at the local Family Fare grocery store. I find this to be a particularly onerous requirement…having to give up your personal information and have all of your purchases tracked to be able to get these prices, if you don’t, you pay full price. I liken this to blackmail and I will never shop in that store again….the owners say that there is no use for the information other than to make sure you get the best deals…and haven’t we heard this from every other corporation that has sold personal information to make a profit? What’s next…you have to give up your firstborn to be allowed to set foot in the store? People…in this new world, about the only thing we have left of value is our personal information and to give it away to save a few pennies at a store whose prices are not competitive anyway is just stupid….boycott Family Fare until this farce is ended…geez….
