Well…didn’t get out of bed until almost 7:30 so I’m running late today…woke up an hour earlier but just couldn’t get out of bed…no motivation at all and that continues right now…I did get some good news when I checked my online banking and my house payment has been made so I don’t have to go out to the bank today…yay! So, I need to figure out what today is going to look like…do I do two rides or only one…and the Talladega race was postponed til 1 this aft so I have a napcar day that will include a nap after I get everything done…and it’s supposed to be raining but I haven’t looked outside yet to see if that is true so that may keep me off the bike until later….okay, just checked and it was raining but it looks like it has stopped and blue skies are coming so I’ll be on the bike by 9 or so…I noticed yesterday that the grass seed I planted by my new trash bin landing pad has sprouted like crazy and I wonder what is different there to the rest of the spots I seeded at the same time that didn’t sprout? Same amount of water and the same method of planting so I am a little confused but I’ll take that bare spot filling in….didn’t do much yesterday but the bike ride and today looks the same…I should start trimming some of the trees and bushes but I probably won’t…going to just ease into it and see how it goes….haven’t even read the news yet and it’s almost 8:30…darn, not sure how I’m going to catch up today…do I need to catch up? It’s raining!
Well…it’s raining! Yeah…not something I would usually be so excited about but it hasn’t rained out here in weeks and weeks and I’m not going to spend another 50 bucks to water the lawn…and there has even been a little thunder thrown in and that was a pretty cool…it’s been going on for almost an hour now and the radar looks like it may keep up for a while yet…but the forecast of storms this afternoon? Doesn’t look like there is anything coming from the south or west after this rain goes through…so, I will be on the bike for one ride just after lunch it appears…hope this keeps up….been so dry out here like nothing I’ve ever seen….
October 3rd
Well…running about on time for a Sunday and I really don’t have to rush since there is rain coming…ha, ha, ha…it was supposed to rain all day yesterday and we never got a drop so I’ll believe it when I see it….so, I’ll be able to get out on the bike as soon as it gets light….slept okay last night and don’t feel too bad this morning even with having a couple of cocktails last night…still didn’t eat enough but I think I was close so I hope I don’t run out of energy later today….PNC bank failed to autopay my mortgage on the 1st so I’ll need to go over to the local branch tomorrow morning and get that sorted out…I’ve got til the 16th to get this fixed so no big deal or I can just write them a check….but, it’s still a pain…didn’t get much done yesterday with all the sports that was on but I did get two rides in so I guess that’s something…I was really hoping for a day off today but no luck…I’ll get at least one ride in after the shower comes through…it is really foggy out here right now and I had the top down on the car it is so warm and, with it being October, that was pretty cool….not sure what I have planned for today…there is soccer on at 9 and 11:30 and then a race in the afternoon so I think I’ll just kind of go with the flow for the day and I am going to try to not get antsy about getting on the bike but I’m sure that won’t work…so, we’ll see how things go….more later…
I was wrong about Michigan today…
Well…in the last one, I kinda went off about Michigan and their offense that was stinking up the place and the defense that was letting Wisconsin back in the game…nevermind…in the second half they scored 25 unanswered point and whipped ‘sconsin 38-17 getting them to 5-0…but Wisconsin was 1-2 coming in so they weren’t the team they’ve been over the past few years…so, a bright spot in today’s sports…finally…but Michigan has a tough schedule for the next month so we’ll see how they do with that….yay!
How about some sports?
Well….haven’t done one on sports in a while so I thought I’d see what’s going on in that world…to me anyway…now, Man U is disappointing the hell out of me so far this year…I mean leading until 8 mins to go and then letting Everton back into it and settling for a draw? They just look stiff and they are not playing like a team…there were so many times the defense broke down they got lucky they didn’t lose the game…and this happens in every damn game…with all of the stars on that team, they should do better…if they don’t change something to start scoring more, they can kiss the champions league goodbye for next year. Then Michigan….again, no offense to speak of…they barely squeaked by Rutgers last week and Wisconsin is coming back against them right now and the lead is down to 3 points…not a normal Michigan team at all and it’s getting to be kind of painful to watch them…yeah, I know they are 4-0 but that looks like it’s going to end today against a 1-2 team…and that sucks…one good thing is that nascar is back on in the afternoon today and it isn’t interrupting my nights like it has the past few weeks….not a fan of having cocktails and watching races…would rather watch a movie or a show in my que instead…it just doesn’t feel the same at night with a race on…I would rather watch svengoolie and a bad scifi or horror movie on sat night….and I can do that tonight since the races will be over by then….and then Rat Patrol at 10…..back to normal…
October 2nd
Well…got all the way til 7 this morning before I got out of bed so that was cool….and I am now waiting for the Man U match to start so I need to get this done pretty quickly…had a nice visit from my son, his wife and their dog yesterday…Art is still a puppy but he is a rottweiler that weighs 91 pounds already…pretty goofy dog and fun to play with….it is nice to have a clean house after doing that yesterday for the visit….feel okay this morning and I am just easing into it…should have made coffee last night since there is only one more cup in the pot so I’ll have to get the french press out here in a minute to make more….won’t get out on the bike until this match is over or until Man U starts to stink the place up and I am going to try to get two rides in today but there is tons of sports on today and I could use some time off to just veg…and it may rain some today but I’m not holding my breath for that….I’ll have to look for the high school football field to the southeast of me since I could hear the band playing quite clearly last night so it has to be close…might be fun to go see a game this fall….and the hockey season starts soon and I can walk down to the arena for that….will have to do some research on the players and teams so I can understand the rivalries….not much to do today…just going to wing it with no plans other than to watch this match and then watch races this aft…there are MotoGP qualifying, trucks, and xfinity races on today along with college football so I won’t get too bored…more later….
Did some work today…
Well…don’t think this place has been this clean since I moved in…have been working on cleaning all day and just took the ac unit downstairs and I am about done for the day…I have been looking for a topic for today without a lot of luck and that is disappointing…I did read about another insider’s look at the idiot’s wh and it was even worse than anyone knew…I mean playing show tunes to keep idiot boy calm and not telling him the staff sent AF1 to take the Bush’s to GHW’s funeral? I had to laugh when a jury ruled that Alex Jones has to pay damage to Sandy Hook parents for calling them “crisis actors” on his infowars website…now we wait for the damages to be awarded that will probably bankrupt this asshole and his website…good riddance. The dems are still fighting with themselves over the bills that are necessary to save this country and I can’t figure that out….but, I do applaud the progressive caucus for standing firm against the so-called moderates who are just repubs in different clothes and who only want to do the bare minimum…they sure look like they don’t understand that it is time to go big to fix this country…and to give me and all the other retirees dental insurance for medicare….not sure how long I can wait to have my dental work started…can hold out for a while but not too much longer…what else? Yeah, I think that’s enough for today….got the two rides in and then cleaning for a couple of hours has me pretty worn out…and the loctite didn’t work on the seat so I took my 12″ crescent wrench and reefed on it..I seem to remember I had to do that to the black bike, too…got through the second ride with no problem but we’ll see tomorrow….
October 1st
Well…another 6:13 morning but I don’t feel too bad today…and I even had some dreams last night that were pretty weird about work and getting promoted…yeah, I wonder why I’d have a work dream since I’ve been retired for a while now…just glad I finally had dreams again….my tinnitus is really bad this morning and I’m not sure why…the ears are really whistling and that is pretty damn annoying…but, there is not much I can do about it but just ignore it…didn’t get much done yesterday but the lawn and some cleaning and only one bike ride so I’ll need to get two in today and then do the rest of my cleaning before my son gets here in the late aft….but that should only take an hour or so and I can do that after I get the rides in and have lunch….don’t have a lot of energy right now but I haven’t had much coffee either so I hope it will get better soon….it looks like we may get some rain Sunday…nope, just looked at the weather and it is supposed to rain the next three days and if that happens, it will be the first time in the 8 months I’ve lived out here that it has rained three days in a row….my lawn sure can use it since I’ve decided I’m not going to pour 50 bucks a months into watering it….not much to do today…just the rides and cleaning and I’m going to start planning the interior work that I’ll get started on once it gets cooler…I think I’ll do the living room first then move on to the spare bedroom…the kitchen and bathroom are going to be last and I hope I can get them done before winter is over….more later….
