Well…sitting here thinking about politics to try to find a topic today and it dawned on me that there is only one functioning political party left in this country…and you know what one that is…the repub party has become the party of no…no to capping insulin at 35 bucks a month, no to expanding and strengthening SS, no to women’s rights, no to trans rights, no to same sex marriage, no to reading books, no to fixing our crumbling infrastructure, no to bringing jobs back to the US….you get the picture…since 2016 when they ditched their platform and policies for blind allegiance to the idiot trump, they don’t stand for anything other than making this country worse for everyone but the rich and corporations and they embrace the fascist policies that are a cancer on the world…even cheering today when it was announced that a fascist won the top job in Italy’s government and has started to turn back the clock to Mussolini and the damage he helped hitler do to Europe, and to listen to her, you get the echoes of the 1930′s when this bullshit killed millions. So the repubs don’t stand for anything but getting power back to hurt their “enemies” and they have already started to talk about impeaching Biden once a week if they take back the house…impeaching for what, I don’t know…for getting legislation passed that helps the entire country…or signing emergency legislation to help the red states when they get hit by natural disasters like the hurricane that is happening to Florida this week? We really do need to make sure we keep both the house and senate in November…if not, the repubs will unleash a hellscape on this country…but we can stop it…get out and vote….please…

September 27th
Well…that was expected, hit bed at 11 last night but didn’t get to sleep until almost one…then up at 4:01 and got about another hour before getting out of bed around 6:30 so about 4-5 hours last night and with it being the first no cocktail night in a while, that is about how it’s going to go as I take the next 5 weeks off to prep for all of the doctor’s and dentist appointments I have scheduled….had a day off the bike yesterday and it’s raining and cold out there right now so it could be two in a row and I’m okay with that but my lower back hasn’t healed much and it still hurts to move so I hope that gets better today….my shoulder doesn’t hurt as much as I thought it would after scraping one side of the bathroom door but it is pretty stiff…want to get the rest of the prep done on the door today but the filling will have to be sanded tomorrow and I hope to get it painted by the end of the week…and I need to do the same to the frame but they are in such bad shape that I’m not sure how it’s going to come out…I guess I’ll just live with what I can do….will be taking the tomato plants out this week along with cutting the flowers down at the back of the house and I need to mow the lawn at some point….and it looks like the weather is going to cooperate after today….not much to do today…going to just have more coffee and ease into the day and then get to work on the house and have to figure out what to cook…I am going to refill the freezer with ten pounds of chicken from aldis tomorrow at 69 cents a pound and that will keep me going for a while…I do need to try some other ways to cook it, though, since I’m getting bored with just baking it…..more later….oh, I did watch NASA slam a spacecraft into an asteroid live yesterday and it was pretty cool to try to figure out how to protect the earth from and asteroid strike and I can’t wait for the pictures from the cubesat that was launched along with dart vehicle….pretty cool….
Still drinking coffee at 2pm…
Well..this is pretty weird for me…still have a cup of coffee going and it’s after 2 in the afternoon….this will probably make my sleep tonight even worse than it normally is but there was not enough left in the pot to have tomorrow and I just didn’t want to dump it out…I guess this will be an interesting evening since I’m back on the wagon for the next month or more so that won’t be putting me to sleep either…oh, well…and my heat has been on all day….
Didn’t ride today…
Well…I am really thanking the rain today since it has kept me off the bike and I really needed the healing time for my body…but that got me feeling guilty about being lazy so I started work on the bathroom door and spent a couple of hours sanding, filling and scraping it as I found that sanding the latex paint just melted it so I had to take my 1 inch wood chisel to go over the whole thing…just like the entire bedroom that I am now using…and it peeled off a lot of it but there is still more to do to get an acceptable finish…and then I have the other side to do….and my shoulder and right side hurt like crazy and they will be worse tomorrow…I checked the hinges in the stripper but they are not done yet so I’ll leave them in a couple more days as I work on the door and frame…there are paint chips everywhere and I need to clean them up in a few minutes…or maybe I’ll wait to do that until I do the other side…it was so nice not having paint chips or dust to deal with all summer…this is going to suck….oh, well…
One more thing about Favre…
Well…I think I may have talked about this one before but the 5 million dollars that Favre and his cronies stole wasn’t the only thing stolen…this same set of cronies paid him 1.1 million dollars to give speeches that he never gave…again out of a fund that is supposed to support the poor people of Mississippi…oh, and he tried to get millions more to build a practice stadium at his alma mater in Mississippi….so, okay, that was two things but damn, he is sure a crook….and I still can’t figure out why he hasn’t been arrested for fraud yet like one of his cronies in this scheme has been….he should be cooling his thieving ass in jail right now…but the whole state of Mississippi is run by his cronies and he is a white football star so that gives him immunity to state charges….so get after it feds, it’s your turn…geez…
September 26th
Well…only up once last night at around 5 and back to getting up after 7 and I am really not sure why that is happening…still don’t feel like I slept at all and I am happy that I’m taking the day off the bike today…have been so sore from going into the wind lately that it’s hard to just move…and the wind is blowing 15 right now and is supposed to get to 25-35 mph in the next few hours with rain coming in around noon so a perfect day to just stay in and sit on the couch….didn’t get anything done yesterday but I am going to work on the bathroom door and frame today…and I need to fish the hinges out of the strip to see if they are clean yet…they have been in the strip for a couple of days and I hope they are clean by now….and today starts my month of being good since I have my big doctor appointment in the first part of November and need to have a month to get my BP and liver enzymes down before they do the blood work…and I can use the loss of weight that will lead to…not much to do today…just going to ease into the day and read a little news for a while before I get started….don’t feel like doing much right now but I think the coffee will help after I have a couple of cups….more later….
Brett Favre is a thief…
Well…what the hell is it with these repub assholes who think it’s no big deal to steal millions of dollars from the poor…and the latest one is the asshole Brett Favre who took 5 million dollars that was earmarked for poor people in Mississippi to build a volleyball arena for the school where his daughter played…yep, he took food out of poor people’s mouths so his privileged daughter could have a nicer place to play volleyball…and the even more sick thing is that Favre is worth over a hundred million dollars and could easily afford to pay for it himself but no, he had to steal money from taxpayers just like every damn repub out there who scream about “big government and high taxes” but lines up at the government trough shouting gimme, gimme while his cronies help him steal…I hope this is one time where the rich don’t get away with it…and the guy who helped him steal is cooperating with the feds so I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this will be one of those times….geez…
Only one ride today…
Well…I really was going to do two rides today but the rain came in just after I got back from the first one so I put the bike away and gave up for the day since it is supposed to rain off and on all day with some storms tonight…and my damn garage door opener decided to puke on me so I had to e-mail the company to see if I can get them to cover it on warranty and I can get a new one…what a pain in the butt…more later…
September 25th
Well…that’s back to normal…got up at 6 this morning and that works with needing to go out to get the paper and it was warm enough to put the top down on the car…it was supposed to be raining but it isn’t so it looks like I’ll be out on the bike at 8 today and will get at least one ride in so I’ll be able to eat again…yay! I did get some work done on the bathroom door frame yesterday and I’m going to check on the hinges to see how they’re doing along with starting on the door today….damn, I was really hoping for a day off the bike today to take it easy and heal up a bit…everything from my neck down hurts and I even had my left thigh hurt yesterday and that never happens…oh, well…need to look through the freezer this morning to get something out to eat tomorrow…will be eating out of the freezer this week since there is no protein on sale but I need to check save a lot and DD in case there is something I can use….I guess there will be salads for the next couple of days but I’m running out of tomatoes and that didn’t happen last year…not much to do today…I just want to sit here and drink coffee but I will suit up in a little while and get on the bike….man, I’m tired….one of these days I’m going to go back to bed when I feel like this…but not today…more later….
Got two rides in…
Well…after sitting here all day waiting and watching the rain fall, it finally stopped around 2 and I was out on the bike by 2:15 for the first ride and I thought it was going to be the only one for the day since I wanted to watch football and the race…but, after I got back here I decided to go out for a second one around 4 or so and that put me really behind for everything that came after it…doing this, doing the dishes, and making dinner and now I need to make ice and do my teeth before I settle in for the night at 7….I really did think that I was going to have a couple of days off with all of the rain that is forecast for tomorrow after all the rain today so getting these rides in allowed me to eat a second meal today….and I won’t feel nearly as bad if I do get rained out tomorrow….now I need to get the rest of the stuff done and do a little relaxing….
