Well…just looked at the yard and was really surprised to see some bare spots appearing…we have lost almost 2/3rds of the snow out here since last Wed when the warm up started and I buried the car in 10 inches of slush in the alley…and the alley is clear right down to the dirt and I hope it stays that way…and it looks like the snow will all be gone by the end of next week since the high temps are going to stay near 40 until the 10th of Feb…and I’ll take that all winter…I will be riding outdoors a bit if it dries up some…won’t be on the trails but I can use the bike lanes on the street or just ride in the streets without them…will be nice to get outside and put some miles in to add to the 400+ indoor miles I’ve done this month…we’ll see…

83 million dollars….
Well…the dumber than a box of rocks trump just found out the cost of him attacking E. Jean Carroll (who he sexually assaulted) for a second time…the first time it cost him 5 million dollars…and this time it cost him 83 million dollars…and you and I know that this won’t be the last time…he can’t help himself and is going to continue to run his big mouth until they take away all of his money if he still has any after the 300+ million he is going to have to pay in his business fraud trial that ended yesterday…finally, he is starting to be held accountable for being the worst asshole on the face of the Earth…and we haven’t even seen his criminal trials yet that really do look like slam dunks that will land him in jail for the rest of his life…I can’t wait for the day when we won’t have to have his toxic bullshit polluting this country…okay, I need to read some news…
January 27th
Well…up at 6:05 this morning and that always makes me think of the SD song “Glamour Profession”….slept okay last night but sure don’t feel like it and I hope the coffee starts to work soon…have had back/hip pain for a couple of weeks now and it is getting really old as is all the pain I feel every day….man, I’m feeling old today…but I’m also feeling lucky to have this place and everything I need when so many people of my age are struggling….and there is something wrong with that….got a bunch of cleaning done yesterday but I’m not sure how much I’ll do today with the 24 hours of Daytona on starting around 1…it will be good background noise for whatever I do and there is a Barrett-Jackson auction on, too…so lots of car stuff today…and soccer….but I need to get on the bike in less than an hour and I really don’t feel like it…but I’ve been on the bike every day so far this year and have over 400 miles in and need to keep it up…do I try to get to my record of 186 days in a row on the bike? There are people on Mastodon who have over 1,000 days in a row on their bikes and that is something I’ll never be able to beat….more later…
The alley is almost all melted…
Well…just went out and filled the bird feeder and decided to take a look at the alley and it looks like it will be all melted by the next time I have to go out for the grocery run next Wed…it has two tracks of bare ground and it is raining out here right now so the snow is going away pretty fast…and the weather is going to stay this warm until at least the 9th of Feb and I may even be able to ride outdoors next week…won’t be able to ride on the trails but I can ride around on the roads and get a few miles in….I did get a bunch of work done today with finally getting to the living room…tore the couch apart to clean it and rotate the cushions to even out the wear, then I cleaned the tv stand and tv, vacuumed the rug and cleaned the wood floors and vacuumed the rug in my room and got rid of the cobwebs everywhere…just had the tiniest Nuthatch on the feeder…the thing is only about half the size of a Chickadee….this is kind of funny…when I went out to do the final filling of the feeder last night, I counted 32 Doves sitting in one of my trees…reminded me of a scene from “The Birds” and now I know where all the food is going…
Is there any law they didn’t break?
Well…damn, when idiot boy was squatting in the WH, was there any law they didn’t break? Just the other day it was revealed that the WH pharmacy was just a candy store to trump and his minions to the tune of 150,000 dollars…and that included idiot boys favorite adderall, along with valium, oxycontin, and every other drug you can think of…and most of it was dispensed without following procedures or the law that governs pharmacies across the country…but, did we expect anything else from the guy who is under 91 felony charges? Now, Merrick Garland, what the hell are you going to do abut it? Nothing I’m sure….I’m sure there is video of the people coming in and out all day long and this could be an easy case to bring…so get on it….geez…
January 26th
Well…damn, slept through the night last night until 5 this morning…the rolled over and stayed in bed til 6 and I’ll take that any day…and I feel a sense of peace this morning with not having anything to do but the bike rides today…so I’m going to enjoy that as I have my first cup of coffee and contemplate what my day is going to look like…don’t have to cook today with making the potato soup yesterday but I do have to think about what I’m going to make next week…but there is no urgency to it and I have a couple of days to decide….I’m pretty beat up from chopping ice the past few days and my right shoulder is screaming at me right now so I may have to take something for it even though I don’t like to…when I went out to do the last fill on the bird feeder yesterday I counted 32 doves in one tree in my yard and now I know why I’ve been using so much food…and they were slugging it out on the feeder…much more aggressive than normal…I really do need to clean a bit around here today to make sure I have at least a little accomplishment to keep my guilts away…not much to do today…have an hour or so before I have to get on the bike and I don’tthink I’m going to use that time productively….more later…
Got the car out…
Well…after doing the bike rides this morning early, I decided to grab my snow shovel and spade and see if the above freezing temps had softened more of the ice and slush in the alley…after 45 minutes of work it looked almost passable so I changed my clothes and headed out for the grocery run…got out but barely and when I got back here I screamed the car in the alley and drove it sideways up to my garage…so now I don’t have to go anywhere for the next week and with temps in the upper 30′s, lower 40′s until the 8th of Feb…it should melt the rest of it before I have to go out again…I guess calling the city a second time yesterday worked with them making a pass down it last night or this morning and clearing out the entry some…so now I can take the rest of the afternoon off with no worry anymore…now if emby would just work, things would be back to normal….
The repubs are freaking out about the economy..
Well…the good economic numbers are starting to get noticed by the media and the repubs are freaking out about it…it was just announced this morning that the economy grew at 3.3 percent in the last quarter of 2023…and yep, that is better than any quarter with the idiot trump squatting in the WH…and with real wages growing and unemployment at historical lows since Biden was elected…he an his team are steering the economy away from recession even with interest rates so high…this is “Bidenomics” at work and shows that the investment in our economy is just what was needed and is what government is for…and you know this is hitting home with idiot boy because he has started to lie about the unemployment rate again saying it must be a manipulation and can’t be true…not that he’d know since idiot boy is ignorant on every subject according to people who worked in his administration….so, those of us in the fact based community will give Joe and his team it’s due…keep it up…
January 25th
Well…running about on time today with waking up at 4:04 but staying in bed til a little after 6…feel no sense of urgency this morning since I know I can’t get out of the alley until more of the slush melts…I did put salt on the ice outside my driveway to try to get it down to the dirt and give me a launching point to try to get out of here tomorrow morning…will be shoveling more slush out of the entrance this morning so it will melt enough for me to get out…slept okay last night but feel pretty worn out and sore today…and I’ll be on the bike by 8 to make it worse….need to make some potato soup today since the potatoes are about 2 days from going bad and I need to have a second meal even though I need to lose more weight…didn’t do the weight work yesterday so I think I’ll do two today…I’ve noticed a difference and I want that to continue…didn’t get anything done yesterday but the rides and shoveling and today looks the same…but I need to ease into it…have an hour or so before I have to get on the bike and I need a lot more coffee….sure hope I can get out of here tomorrow and get the grocery run done…more later…
What a day…
Well…what a disrupted day today…was going to do the grocery run but I buried the car in the alley as the packed snow turned into slush…took me an hour to dig it out and get it back in the garage…then I called the city and they sent an F-250 four wheel drive dually out to plow it and he got stuck 5 times so he gave up and left it worse than it was…so I called to get a supervisor to send out one of the road plows but of course I got voicemail and no response…just finished helping the woman across the alley dig her car out that she got just to halfway in her driveway…and I went out to the entrance to the alley and shoveled that to hope that the rain we are getting will melt some of it and I can get out of here Friday…have everything I need til next week if necessary but it’s still a pain in the ass having my life disrupted by people not doing their jobs…oh, well…
