Well…yeah, I did look for a political topic all day today…but not too hard so I was bored this aft and thought I’d replace the broken electrical outlet since it is a pretty easy job…so I moved the couch and got at it after I went downstairs to shut the power off…and this house is wired up pretty weird…the breaker that runs the living room also runs half of the basement and I guess that is what they had to do with only 6 breakers for this whole house…I am gradually getting rid of the old two prong outlets so I don’t have to use the grey adapters much anymore and that will be a project to complete as I work on this place….it only took about 10 minutes to do the job and get everything buttoned back up but I did have a problem that I kicked myself a bit from…in trying to find the right breaker, I shut the kitchen one off which blanked all of the clocks in there, one of which is on my coffee maker…so I reset the clocks…or thought I did until the coffee maker started to bubble and make coffee at 6pm…so I had to let it finish and then reset the clock to the right time…but that means I won’t have a coffee smell alarm clock to wake me up in the morning…darn….oh, well…at least I got something done today other than ride the bike…
Got the rides in…
Well…that was a busy morning and it’s finally raining again and I really thought it wouldn’t..got two good rides in and almost did a full sprint on the second one and that felt good….and I was even out around 8 for the first one but got the time wrong for F1 qualifying and didn’t get out for the second one until almost 11 so that put me back here a little after noon…I did have my trash can infested with fly larvae and had to spray it with poison to keep them from maturing and having flies all over the place….I guess now I have the rest of the day off with the rain keeping me inside for a couple of hours at least…haven’t been able to find a topic for a political one yet but I’ll keep trying and see what happens….more later?
May 21st
Well…it kind of sucks when you “sleep in” and get up only 23 minutes later than normal….and the heat is still on and it’s almost the end of May….at least we did get a bit of rain out here last night but, as always, the main part of the storms missed us to the north and south and that is happening again with huge blobs of storm and rain about 20 miles to the south right now and it looks like the rain is done here for the day already….and it’s going to stay in the 50′s all day…and that may make it a one ride day today since I could use a little rest with my legs already hurting and I haven’t done anything yet….and F1 qualifying is on at 11 and I need to see that…and doing two rides this morning would mean I need to get out there here in about 15 minutes and I just don’t feel like it….I need a day to just sit here and take it easy and I think I’ve earned it but won’t do it….I did get a few things done yesterday and have a few things to do today and would like to get the lilac cuttings outside so I can shut down the light downstairs….and I have one green pepper plant that has come up so I need to get that planted outside…the herbs that I planted never came up in the cups so I really don’t have much hope of getting them to sprout outside this year so that may wait til next year….not much to do today….just going to ride and cook and putter around here a bit…I should replace that plug behind the couch but I’m not motivated enough to do that and it may wait til tomorrow….more later….
Only did 30 today…
Well…after running errands this morning, I fully planned to get three rides in today and add another 45 miles to the total for the year…but, the wind has come up to the point where it is gusting to over 30 and, after 80 miles over the past two days, my legs just don’t need that abuse…am I closing the door to going out again this aft? Nope, never do that…especially when I have only been sitting here for 15 minutes and I am already getting bored…and I even went out and planted the Jalapeno sprouts, 3 sunflowers that were ready, and another pack of seeds out front to get some color out there for this year…I must have spent 20 bucks just on flower seeds this year…but it looks like it will be worth it with all of them that have coming up….I can’t wait to see the colors I have…and I guess doing laundry counts as doing something, too, so I have done some work today but, as yesterday, it doesn’t seem like enough…oh, I did replace the nail in the roller shaft with a cotter pin this afternoon,too, and now I feel better that it is a permanent fix for the door moving from side to side and pulling the shaft out of the bracket…nice to not have to think about that anymore….and to have the door quieter…oh, and it looks like I may be able to salvage three of the 10 lilac cuttings downstairs so I may be able to plant them next week….and probably go over and get a few more since I’d like to have enough to fill the whole fence in…and that just gave me an idea…instead of a gate in the back yard, maybe I’ll fill the space with shrubs of some kind, just leaving enough room to get the mower and my bike through…it’s an idea anyway….
Let’s look at the numbers…
Well…with all the hyperventilating on the right about Hunter Biden’s laptop and the “explosive” information it may or not contain, let’s look at the numbers here and see if any of it is abnormal in any way. the latest talking point is that Hunter’s firm made 11 million dollars from 2013 to 2018….hmmm…11 million divided by 6 is 1.83 million dollars a year….and the right thinks that is a lot of money for a consulting firm and would make an irresistible bribe? So, what does that make the 640 million dollars that jared and ivanka raked in when the were working in the WH? Let’s remember that Hunter never worked in government while his firm was making 11 million dollars over 6 years and his father was not president yet, so the chance that any of it was a bribe was exceedingly small…but with jarvanka? You just have to look at the 2 billion dollars that the saudis gave jared after he left the WH to see a real bribe…or was it for services rendered? I just can’t figure out why when a repub goes off about Hunter that the media doesn’t ask just this question…ask them if they don’t think there might be a small possibility that the 640 mil that jarvanka made might be considered a bribe? And keep hammering them on it until they answer or run away…and all dems should be doing the same thing…when these right wing morons spout off about Hunter, there needs to be a senator or congressperson go to the media and ask these questions…and ask why they weren’t concerned with WH employees taking 640 million dollars while working there…that should shut them up pretty quickly and would get us in practice for playing hardball…geez…
May 20th
Well…I hate it when a plan doesn’t come together…as you know from the last post yesterday, I rode 50 miles to make up for not being able to ride today with the rain that was forecast but that changed and now there is no rain until maybe tonight or tomorrow…and I mowed my lawn to get ready for it and now the lawn will probably turn brown without the rain…crap….and the plug that I plug this thing into broke so I’m using an extension cord to get power out of the bedroom to run everything…so I need to run out to depot to get a new plug, cover plate, and some cotter keys so I can replace the nail I put in the garage door to hold the roller in place…I did sleep okay last night and don’t feel too bad even with having a cocktail but that won’t be repeated tonight….and I’m not as sore as I should be after all the miles yesterday so I’ll be getting back on the bike after the run to depot and I’m not sure how many miles I’m going to do today…probably just the normal 30 miles since there is nothing on the radar to keep me from it….but the wind is blowing pretty hard so it may just be one ride….I wonder if I’ll get to a new normal of 45 miles a day? Not sure if I want to….not much to do today…just the depot run and then riding…going to make a burger for lunch and then probably some chicken later….need to keep the calories down and lose much more weight…..more later….
Got 50 miles in today…
Well…man, I’m sore….got 50 miles in on the bike today and mowed and edged the lawn and I am sitting here still thinking that I need to do something else….even with all of that done for today…and I’m not sure why that would be….oh, well….damn, it looks like the battery on the laptop has completely crapped out since it won’t ake any charge anymore…I hope it’s not the computer itself or I’ll have to buy a new one…damn, one more thing to think about…I did just change out the power supply for another identical on that I have but it doesn’t look like it’s doing anything so I guess I’ll have to look for a new battery on the internet and order one…at least it still works from the power supply so I can keep doing this…crap….I need a drink…and I just might have one….
What to do?
Well…after getting the first two rides in this morning, I decided to mow the lawn, do the trimming, and do the repairs on the front of the lawn….and after that, I made lunch and now I sit here thinking “what to do”? Do I go out and do the third ride even after working on the yard for a couple of hours or do I just take it easy until Everton comes on at 2:45? I have about 7 minutes to make the decision and I am leaning toward going back out to get 45 miles in for the day…the wind is blowing like crazy and it was a pretty brutal second ride but I think I can handle it…and rain is coming in from the west earlier than forecast…it’s almost at Milwaukee heading right at Muskegon so only about an hour and a half away….okay, I can’t just sit here and do nothing….might just as well abuse myself some more….15 more miles…

Well..is anyone else as damn tired of the repubs as I am? These assholes spent this whole week bitching that Biden isn’t doing enough to fix the baby formula shortage here in the US…of course, Biden has been working with business and the congress to get formula flowing again and he asked for 28 million dollars for the emergency shipping of formula from Europe and Canada….and guess what every damn repub but 9 did when the bill came up in the house? They all voted against it…yep almost all of them voted against any measures to solve the problem, showing that it was all just them being assholes when they bitched about it…and really drives the point home that the repubs don’t want to govern at all…they just want to burn the US down to get their jollies and make their crazy assed base happy. Finally, Biden is starting to get that you can’t negotiate with these pricks, you can’t “partner” with them to get things done, and they don’t give a damn about this country…just scoring political points that will get them on fox news later in the day…and every one of them needs to go…
May 19th
Well…not sure how I feel about sleeping last night but I was up at 3am for the first time and then out of bed for good before 6….I wonder why I’ve been tossing and turning so much lately? Probably the allergies that have been so crappy lately….the cars that sit outside out here are yellow with pollen and even in the garage, mine has a thin coating all over it….and nothing that I take really gives me much relief…but at least I can breath a bit and will be getting back on the bike today in abut an hour or so…need to get everything done by 2:45 when Everton plays so it is going to be a really busy day if I’m going to get everything done….and three rides to make up for the day off the bike yesterday and the day off for tomorrow with the storms and rain that are coming in…it looks like there is going to be a window of about 3 hours tomorrow afternoon that it will be dry so I may be able to get one ride in anyway….and I’m going to try to not feel guilty about not riding much the next couple of days when I really do need some time off for my legs to heal up some…I do need to get some grass seed in out front today, too, along with planting some perennial seeds to try to put a little bit of color there, too….lots to do today….as I said, I need to get going here in and hour or so and that will put me on the bike by 7:30…and I do have to remember to eat today to support 45 miles on the bike…need more coffee….more later…
