Well…can I be running late if 7 is the new wake up time? It’s pretty cool in here this morning and that is kind of a relief after all of the heat and humidity over the summer….I am looking forward to fall since that has always been my favorite season and it will be my first one out here….I am going to get at least one more swim in before I give it up for the year….and that may be today….not feeling too motivated to work hard today and that may be a good reason to just wing it….I do have a couple of errands to run this morning…ran out of batteries for my toothbrush and it is getting pretty slow so a run to HF is in order…and I need some flap discs for my grinder to clean up my winter wheels so I can paint them before I buy the new winter tires…didn’t work too hard yesterday either, other than making the tomato sauce and I am fighting the guilt that comes with not working hard on this place…I figured out that the increase in SS of 6.2% is going to give me an additional 131 bucks a month and put me at 27K from the first of January and that is pretty cool…I’m living okay on what I get now so that will grow my bank account even more…and housing prices went up 18% last month so I gained an additional 18K on this place so that means I have almost 60K in equity here so my goal of getting to 100K in assets is getting closer….not much to do today…just the errands and bike rides and it even looks like it may rain later….yeah, that made me laugh, too…it never rains out here…we’re up to 6 weeks with nothing but dry out here and I’ll believe it when I see it….more later….

Well…I was quite worried I was going to be throwing out lots of tomatoes since I just can’t eat them fast enough but I figured that out today with a little internet searching….went out to the garden and picked about 5 pounds of tomatoes, brought them inside and cut them up into pieces and put them in my big roasting pan with some garlic, olive oil, garlic powder, and Italian seasonings and roasted them for an hour and a half….after they were done, I spooned them into my blender and pureed them into a smooth sauce that tastes so darn good I am going to use some of it in the lasagna I’m making Sat…but the 5 pounds of tomatoes only made about 3/4 of a blender so I’ll have to make more…only have two flat quart freezer bags to go in the freezer and need more….so I think I’ll make more next week as the last of the tomatoes get ripe…the sauce has this smoky flavor from the roasting that is going to go really well with cheese and pasta so I’ll use some just for pasta sauce over the winter…hope I can get about 6 bags in the freezer…did some cherry tomatoes earlier and they came out good, too, but I didn’t put them in the blender and I am going to use them in the lasagna, too…can’t wait to make it….maybe I’ll put some green pepper and onion in the next batch….

Well….running a little late today with waking up at 6:11 but not out of bed until after 7…just can’t get started so I think I’ll ease into it today since I don’t have a schedule…I am going to roast some tomatoes to freeze for sauce base…the blender didn’t work too well when I tried it the other day and roasting will get rid of a lot of the water and when I add garlic and some spices, it will be ready for use in sauces…but I need to find a place for them in the freezer…I did get the first parts for fixing the black bike yesterday and that crankset looks pretty cool…changed from the sun tour to a Shimano and I hope it lasts longer than the last one…still waiting on the tools and chain to get shipped and can’t really do much until I get those…should be able to get another 12K miles out of it and will do the same to the gray bike once I get the black one fixed….might have to wear a fleece on the bike this morning since it is only 53 out here right now and I’ll be getting on the bike here in 15 minutes or so….it is nice that a lot of humidity is gone right now and things don’t feel damp…I wonder if I should go out to the beach later for probably the last time this year….I felt like I was in the Don Henley song  “the boys of summer” yesterday when the beach was empty for the first time this summer…”ain’t nobody on the road, ain’t nobody on the beach, I feel it in the air, the summer’s out of reach”…kind of melancholy….not much to do today…just roasting and riding….more later….

Well…dang, it’s been another busy day and I just finished up my work and it is 3 in the afternoon…have been going since 8 this morning with doing the grocery run, then back here to get on the bike for the first ride….out for the second ride then cleaned the bike and the chain and sprockets with dish soap and a scrub brush so I could re-lube them…then putting two coats of paint on the garage door frame and cleaning up after that….just finally got the chance to sit down for the first time today and I am a little worn out…but, it does feel good to have the frame painted…finally…and that has been bugging me since I moved in here….it came out pretty good after how it looked before with all of the peeling paint and crud on it…only 4 more to do….

Well…running a little late today with not getting up til after 7 and I wonder what change happened to go from getting up at 5 or so and now? It’s only 59 out here and it is a little cool in here this morning but that’s okay….I was getting tired of sweating all the time and it is a little bit of a relief to have a cool breeze blowing through here…I did get some work done yesterday and have the door frame on the garage prepped for paint and will get to that in the next day or so…it’s such a pain to try to remove latex paint since it never gets hard enough to sand off….I worked on that one for hours yesterday and it still won’t have a good surface to paint but I’m not going to strip it….that’s just too much….only did one ride yesterday with mowing the lawn and I feel guilty for it…had plenty of time but just didn’t feel like going out again….and today may be the same with having to do the grocery run today and I won’t be able to get out until almost 10….and that will put the second ride back to after noon….still pretty worn out today but need to get moving soon…buying all of the ingredients to make lasagna and taco casserole today but I’m not sure when I’m going to make them…probably tomorrow since I have leftover chicken for one meal today and I do need to make a salad to try to use up some more tomatoes….more later…

Well…running a little late today with not getting out of bed until a little after 7 but I don’t feel like I slept well at all…but, that’s pretty normal and I guess I’ll just have to live with it….don’t hurt much today…so far…and that is even with getting two rides in yesterday but I’m not sure if I’ll do that again today….have to mow the lawn this morning and get at watering again….might go to the beach today since time for that is running out with September coming…I do remember going out to swim in October a few years back when it was in the mid 80’s and I will do that again if it stays that warm…I did get to running the string trimmer yesterday and did the whole yard along with doing the weed walk and took out the bean plants and the cukes that had stopped producing so I’m down to one cuke left to turn into pickles…I am going to make some lasagna this week along with a taco casserole to try to change up my diet a bit…getting so damn tired of chicken and tomatoes and need to branch out some and that will be easy to make and to re-heat….going to make the last handful of beans today with some leftover chicken breast and I think I need to pick the last of the green peppers and I may use them in the lasagna…..not much to do today…just the bike ride and the lawn and maybe the door frame on the garage but that will be about it….just tired right now and the coffee isn’t helping….more later…

Well…man, these right wing idiots are a plague on this country and that goes for the judges that have been installed by the idiot trump. Just today, one of those right wing judges in a blood red part of Ohio ruled that a hospital has to treat a covid patient with horse worming medication since that is what he wants….it doesn’t matter that the medication does nothing against covid and can do some real harm to human beings, the patient wants it and that’s all the judge thinks matters…so now a judge can order any treatment he thinks is necessary or that the plaintiff wants…so I wonder when someone is going to go to this judge with a lawsuit saying he needs to be treated with heroin and the judge will force a doctor to do it? This judge should be disbarred for a ruling like this…one that is rife with ignorance and conspiracy theories and should be removed from the bench…judges are not doctors and need to stay out of medicine…geez…

Well…running late this morning with not getting up until after 7…and I ran the ac unit all night so I wasn’t soaked in sweat and that was nice…but, it was just as cool out here when I got up so I guess I could have just left the place open all night…hmmm…my darn elbow starting hurting again out of nowhere last night and I know I didn’t do anything to tweak it so that is a little confusing….didn’t even do two rides yesterday so I’m not sure what is going on….I did order everything I need to fix the old bike yesterday and it cost me around 75 bucks but that’s not a bad deal since these bikes are now almost 500 bucks with the cost increases over the past year…had to buy a crank removal tool and a chain tool that are about 25 bucks so when I do the new bike, it will only be about 50 bucks…the next thing I need to figure out is how to replace the swingarm bushings when they wear out…but that is what the old bike is for….I need to change up my diet soon since I am getting bored with all of the chicken and tomatoes….thinking of the taco casserole that I used to make along with some lasagna might be just the thing….we’ll see….not much to do today…going to get two rides in and then get on the lawn and the door frames….and I need to start clearing out the garden so I can put that stuff out for the trash today….more later….

Well…I’ve never seen anything like this…we were under a severe thunderstorm warning out here and the radar showed a huge blob heading right towards us….but, as the storm came in off the lake, it just fell apart and we didn’t even get enough rain to wet the street…I think there is some government project that they are working on to control the weather and they are testing it out here…that’s as good of an explanation as any, I guess….so I’ll be watering again starting tomorrow but there is no rain in the forecast at all this week so more money is going into water for the lawn….it better not snow like normal out here after not getting any rain in over a month…not once in August and that is just too weird….

Well…woke up soaked this morning and probably should have left the ac on all night but then I get too cold even with it set at 74….so, I didn’t sleep too well and need to get moving with this to get out on the bike in 15 minutes to make it back here by 9 for the F1 race….and, still no rain out here and the forecast has changed to nothing for today from a 70% chance when I went to bed last night…it hasn’t rained out here for over a month and I am getting tired of spending all the money to keep my lawn alive by watering it….only did one ride yesterday with going out to swim instead and it looks like I will only do one again today with the F1 race and then Man U playing at 11:30…but, it it doesn’t rain, I may go out after the match is over….but I think I’ll probably run out of energy with only having a chicken sandwich to eat all day yesterday….just don’t feel like eating but can’t do two of those in a row….didn’t get anything else done and with the humidity and the heat, I won’t be doing much outside today…other than watering the lawn….my allergies are terrible this morning and I need to remember to take something for it before I get on the bike…..and I need to do that right now since I have only 5 minutes to get on the bike….more later…
