Well…there are a few things happening in politics, but I wanted to share this first…maybe a political one in a few minutes…sitting here at my computer this morning, I noticed a bunch of hornets flying around on my patio and going into a small crack behind the door of my storage unit….well…there were more than a few and when I opened the door and took out some stuff, I found a nest of hornets…I think they are bald-faced hornets…I sprayed them with my bug killer and have been fighting the returnees ever since…I think I’ve saturated the nest and the eggs enough to where the rest of the ones coming back will land in the poison and then slowly die….and I can get my patio back from the damn things…then I’ll need to clen out my storage unit so I can put the blizzaks in and get them out of my living room….more later…

August 7th
Well….it was an interesting day yesterday with finally getting the car fixed and it appears it IS fixed…took it out to Meijer this morning and it is finally linear like it is supposed to be….was supposed to be really hard to bleed but I think it was quite easy…but, there was much damage to muscles I don’t use in that way…and climbing under a car at my age is starting to get to be a pain, too…almost quit in the middle of the job when I couldn’t get the bolts out…the rest of the day was just licking the wounds and cooking some….and it looks like the rain has stopped so I will be able to get on the bike….but, I need to take some pain killers to make it palatable….not much to do today….need to kind of lay low for a while since I am running out of cash…but I did spend a couple of bucks on Powerball tickets for tonight…over 400 million bucks…a win would be nice…more later…
Car trouble….
Well…no political one today since I have been working on the car for a couple of hours and I am dirty, sweaty and worn out…mashed my finger, too, which makes typing a pain, too. As you know, I’ve been having some problems with the clutch actuation on the car for a while and yesterday, on the way over to meet G, the thing was barely releasing; starting just an inch or so off the floor and just so inconsistent….so, this morning I decided to check everything out and found that the clutch slave cylinder was leaking into the boot which means it needs to be replaced asap….so, i bike over to the zone and got a new one for 20 bucks, got back here, and found that I didn’t have the 12mm short socket I needed to get the bolts out, so back to the zone for the socket and then it was going well until the vacuum pump I bought specifically for this job wouldn’t pull a vacuum so I had to bleed it the old fashioned way for one person….pump the pedal up, then take a piece of angle aluminum I had laying around and wedge it between the pedal and the seat to hold it…then walk around to open the bleeder, and repeat 5 times until no air…seems to be okay but we’ll see tomorrow when I take it out….until then…it’s break time…
August 6th
Well…I survived the internet outages that have been happening here since Sat and I am going to blame that for not getting caught up yesterday…it would come on for a minute then shut off for three, then repeat the cycle over and over…it appears that it is fixed since I have been able to connect with the phone all morning….had to walk out to the car to get my e-mail yesterday and that is a pain…it was an okay day yesterday with going out to have a couple with G but the clutch is getting really funky on the car so it looks like I’m going to have to bleed it when it stops raining…I did open the power bleeder that I bought at HF a few weeks back and it looks like it will be easy when I get to it….probably not just air in the system so I’ll probably have to replace the master cylinder….not a big job….feel pretty crappy today and I know it’s from not eating, again, but there is no food here so I’m not sure I can fix it today….not much to do today…just need to get the normal stuff done and then figure out what else…more later…
Another reason to hate the NSA spying…
Well…if it wasn’t bad enough that the NSA is spying on Americans looking for terrorists, it was just revealed the other day that the DEA is using the same program to look for drug dealers…but that is not the worst part….the worst part is that the DEA is using this information as the core to fake cases against these people…how it works is that the DEA finds a nugget that someone is smuggling or selling drugs and then builds a fake case to make it look like they actually did the work of building a real case…lying to prosecutors, defense lawyers, and judges to make the fake case look real…and they even have official procedures on how to do it. Never mind that this crap violates many parts of the constitution, it also erodes the justice system that is supposed to protect people from this kind of crap…..if there is anything that should make people stand up and rebel against government nonsense, this should be it…anyone taking part in this crap should be arrested and prosecuted….right now….geez…
August 5th
Well…it was just another day yesterday and, as you can see, I didn’t come back for another one so that makes me 4 short already for the month so I will have to get moving today…just haven’t been feeling it lately…like my brain is not working very well and I just can’t make any sense…but, I will keep trying and see what happens…slept okay last night…not as well as I have lately but okay…and there were dreams that I don’t remember but at least they were there…I think I still have the bug a little since I am still coughing but I’m hoping it gets better today…not much to do today…I do have a few errands to run this morning and then back here to try to get a bike ride in before the rains come…might make it but the storms are already at the edge of the lake so I may get rained on…and it is not warm enough for that….more later…
August 4th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but didn’t do much with recovery from the small bug I had taking up much of it…have been feeling better as the days go by so I have hope today will be better and I will even accomplish something…am still coughing, though, and I hope it’s not allergies since I don’t want to start taking allergy stuff again….I do want to get out on the bike early so I am going to keep this short…the damn thing started to squeak again so I need to find that before I go out…more later…
The 40th time is the charm?
Well…never in my lifetime have I seen a political party that isn’t; like the repubs are now, evidenced by the 40th vote, yep that’s right, 40th vote to repeal the ACA. When are these idiots going to get thrown out of congress for wasting the time and money of the American people? Over on the senate side, you have the same damn thing going on with Canadian Cruz vowing to shut down the government if the ACA is not defunded as part of the debt ceiling deal….he is willing to crash the entire world economy just to prevent some people, like me, from being able to get affordable health insurance, and to prevent people with pre-existing conditions from ever being able to be insured…in what twisted vision of America is that good for the people? I have just had enough of the tea partiers trying to shove their fascistic view of life on the sane ones here who believe that we need government to protect us from the Ayn Randian version of capitalism that they love so much….and the bitch of the whole thing is that the people who will benefit from the ACA continue to vote against their own interests…and for these bat shit crazy repubs…geez…
August 3rd
Well…as you can see, I didn’t come back for another one yesterday and I have a good excuse…felt like crap after pool and did nothing but hit the couch…I’m now sure it was a bug of some sort with the coughing and crap in my lungs…feel much better today even with having a couple of cocktails last night so I’m hoping the worst is over…both Tom and I were tired of shooting pool and left it with a tie, which never happens….but that is okay…my stomach was so bad that I couldn’t have kept going…slept okay last night but still have a little heartburn that I am going to treat in a minute before I get out on the bike…I was hoping that the fog was going to stay until I ride but I needed coffee first and it has mostly lifted so maybe next time…I will be back for more later and to get caught up…..more later…
August 2nd
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get a lot of stuff done for a change so I feel okay about that…slept okay, too, so even with the cocktails last night, I feel okay today….don’t have a lot to say, though, so this one is going to be kind of short…I still hurt everywhere and I’m not sure if it is just the same as last year or not…it does seem to be centered in the elbows this year but my right knee still gets some twinges on the bike, too, but nothing bad. I did have one of the headrest speakers quit in the car yesterday and they are only a year old…but, it started working again and I’m not sure what that was about…I did open it up and look at it but the connections were tight so I’m not sure what the problem is…I did keep the ones that came out of it so I will have a spare if it quits again….not much to do today…it’s raining right now so I have to wait to get on the bike….so, I’ll have the second cup of coffee and wait…more later…
