Well…decided to not do windows today when I noticed the cobwebs and dust bunnies in my bedroom along with tons of dust so I decided to clean it instead…I know this is a dusty house but the dust bunnies under my bed were the size of real bunnies and it took a while to get that cleaned up…I even went so far as to wash down the side table beside the bed and the dresser along with the baseboards and trim…pretty darned tired aft all that and the rides today and I can’t figure that out…oh, well…getting old I guess…it is nice to have a clean room…and with the rain coming in tomorrow morning, it looks like I’ll have time to do the bathroom and the living room…more work…ick…

Jeans that fit?
Well…this is a little weird…I was looking for jeans to wear to run errands this morning and ran across a pair folded up in the closet that I recognized were ones I’ve had for 20 years and never fit in comfortably…but, with the weight I think I’ve lost, I thought I’d try them on and see…man, they fit perfectly and before I could barely get them buttoned…so I guess that’s a confirmation that yes, I am losing weight still and that should be helped by not having cocktails…still haven’t found the jeans I’ve been looking for, though…I did hit the library and dollar store since all of my riding sunglasses have fallen apart and after repairing three pairs yesterday, I knew the repairs won’t last long so I bought 3 more pairs today for 4.50…one of these days I’m going to buy a better pair that may last a while…still too cold to go out on the bike so I made two more cups of coffee in the french press and I’m going to be jittery for a while…oh, well…
Gas prices and inflation?
Well…the coffee has started to work so I’m going to try to continue the trend of doing a political one before I go down to ride the bike…in surveys when stupid people are asked why they are going to vote for the idiot trump, two of the things they cite are gas prices and inflation and I marvel at the shallowness of their thinking as they go on that gas prices lower during the idiot’s term…yeah, they would be after he crashed the economy and mismanaged the pandemic that led to over 10% unemployment so of course demand and prices went down…don’t any of these low intelligence voters understand economics at all? Prices are down under 3 bucks a gallon out here right now so what is their bitch? Look, yeah we know that inflation has been too high but we also know that almost half of that was just greed of corporations taking advantage of inflation to raise prices and profits…the largest grocery chains profits soared to their highest point ever during the recovery and that is a result of consolidation in the markets that led them to have pricing power to raise prices any amount they wanted…if you don’t understand that, go read a book on economics…I learned that in Econ 101 in college…and current inflation is down under 2% as the fed manages a “soft landing” and avoids a recession that all of the right wing economists have been bleating that was going to happen during Biden’s term…never did…so the delusion that things were better under the idiot trump is just that, a delusion driven by the addiction to fox news that trump supporters have…by all measurements, the US economy is the envy of the world and that is not by accident…it is by a reality based approach that uses economic knowledge to make decisions..not the bloated blathering of an idiot who has no clue what the word economy even means…vote for facts, not for fascists…geez…
October 24th
Well…up a little later than has been the norm lately but still out of bed before 6am…I did have some dreams last night but they were pretty non-descript and had beaches and cottages in them but just to have any is not normal anymore…I must be sleeping a little better after the 4th day of no cocktails and I am a little interested to see what the effects will be as time goes on…I did spend the money to get some lidocaine to try to dull the pain in my neck and I don’t know if it works yet…tried it once yesterday and it might work…we’ll see…only did one ride outdoors yesterday with the wind way too strong and I didn’t want to hurt myself more but I am sore from it today…still got 28 miles in and stayed above the average I need to get to 10K for the year and will do the same today…it’s only 34 out here right now and that will help getting the leaves off the trees but that will keep me off the bike until it warms up enough around 10 or so…indoor ride before 8 and then I have to take some books back to the library…then I may make a run up to the dollar store to look for some new rings for the shower curtain to replace the damn hooks that keep falling off…and after 3 1/2 years of that, I’m finally annoyed enough to replace them…it looks like a puttering around day today but if it gets warm enough, I may tackle the 5 windows I have left to clean…still have leftovers so I don’t have to cook today but I will have to plan some meals…eating out of the freezer this week since no one had any protein on sale…more later…
Finally got the Rain-x…
Well…after getting the indoor ride in and then doing the grocery run, I did get out for one outdoor ride but, with the winds of 30 mph and gusting…I used up way too much energy t go back outside for another ride…and with getting the Rain-x, I went out and did the windows in the car with it and noticed I had a small slit in the roof so I repaired that and then checked the oil and coolant to keep on top of it…then back downstairs for a ride to make it 28 miles for the day…got some deals at Aldis today with a huge stalk of celery for 95 cents, 2 pounds of carrots for about 1.40, and a huge head of cauliflower for 2.50…and that will get me started on the trail to eating more veggies…going to steam and then roast some cauliflower for dinner to go with the leftover chicken thighs I have in the fridge…maybe a potato to go with it…but right now it’s weight work and soccer…
Poor Rudy…
Well…I was laughing quite a bit yesterday when I read that poor old rudy had to turn over all of his property but his clothes to the two Georgia poll workers who he repeatedly slandered after the 2020 election…making up lies that they “stuffed” ballot boxes and other cheating that went on for over a year…so now rudy has to turn over his 6 million dollar apartment in New York along with any cars he owns and all other property that he has stashed around the country…and he is still going to owe them over 150 million dollars more so anything he earns from the right wing wingnut machine goes to them, too…how’s being trump’s puppy working out for ya, rudy? Look…we know that idiot boy doesn’t hire the “best people” but I think there is more to it than that…even smart people who come into the idiot’s contact seem to have their IQ lowered by half and will do things that any rational person would walk away from…just look at all the lawyers who have gone to jail or are under indictment after working for the idiot…I have no sympathy for them…they knew what trump was and they worked for him anyway…geez…
October 22nd
Well…up and moving at a little after 5 this morning and that is getting to be pretty normal with my self imposed dryness that I’m 10% of the way into and that will end on the 19th of November…after all the work the past couple of days, I hurt just about everywhere and I’m going to look at some topical pain relievers since I’m running out of biofreeze and it really doesn’t work as well as I would like…my neck especially since it’s not a joint and voltaren doesn’t work on it…it was nice to get some work done the past couple of days but I’m paying for it today…still have 5 windows to do but the weather is going to stay warm enough to do those later in the week…it was nice to play some vinyl as I worked yesterday and I think I’ll repeat that for the last 5 windows…not sure if I’m going to put the window bird feeder up this year…it makes such a mess but it is fun to watch the birds…I guess I’ll have to think about it…like to feed the birds but don’t want to spend 50 bucks for a feeder hanger and new feeder….the leaves have started to fall finally and I should have the time to get them picked up before the end of November deadline for putting them out…going to try my angle grinder with a cutoff wheel to get the parts of the stump out of the fence that grew into it….not much to do today…on the bike downstairs in a half hour or so and then the grocery run where I need to load up on veggies, and then back on the bike for two outdoor rides…no window work today as I need to pain to subside first…more later….
Found the oil leak…
Well…having a laptop that starts up every time in about 3 seconds is such a luxury after having to fool with the last one for minutes every time just to get it started so I can come here without thinking about it…after I washed the car the other day, as I was pulling it back into the garage, I noticed a spot from an oil leak on the garage floor that was about 6 inches across and I couldn’t figure that out since Miatas are not known to leak oil…so I just went out to check on a hunch I had and it was right…the oil filter had come loose and I was able to turn it a good quarter of a turn by hand to tighten it up…so I’m pretty sure I’ve fixed it and that takes a load off since I’m trying to get it though the winter so I can buy a new car in the spring…a bit of good news…
Retired the old laptop…
Well…I just officially retired the old laptop by unplugging it and putting in the storage container where I have my first two laptops…I used that one for almost 10 years but I got to the point with the new one that I trust it and have all of the sites that I use bookmarked on it so there is no stress when I need to use the 4 or 5 that I use every day…took that thing all over the place with the longest trip the one to the UK last year…it was sure a heavy lump compared to this one and quite thick but it did the job for me so I hope this one will do the same…I did get some work done today and I really hurt my neck doing it and I am going to tell my doctor about it at my yearly checkup…I mean it’s been 4 months since I first felt pain in it and after cleaning the wheels on the car and then doing 7 windows today…it hurts worse now than it ever has so I think we’ll have to get some x-rays to see if it’s something with the nerves being pinched in my neck…sure don’t want to have to have surgery like T had to…oh, well…
A wildlife day…
Well…it was a good wildlife day on the bike today starting with the 1st ride when I got up to behind the water filtration plant where I saw three deer yesterday…today I looked down into the little wood to the right and saw what I consider to be a herd of deer…there were 17 of them standing there, 2 small 4 point bucks and 15 does and I took the earbuds out so I could here their hooves clickety clack across the trail when they took off running…so, pretty cool to start…then, heading out for the second ride and crossing the bridges that line Muskegon Lake, I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see the huge female red tailed hawk that had perched on the railing of the bridge..when I got to her, she took off flying down the trail only about 8 feet to the left of me and at my eye level…felt like I was flying in formation then she started to climb to the left to get to one of the oak stumps at the top of the bluff that was the result of the high winds a few months back…that sure brightened up my day….
