Well…sitting here watching the Tigers playing their opening game which is a tradition for me, and they just announced that the safety netting that normally is just there to protect the people behind home plate has been extended all the way down the baselines to first and third base. Now, I’m not sure I like this….part of the fun of going to the game was the chance to get a foul ball hit into the stands and now that is gone for almost half the park.  I understand the perceived need for safety of people in the park, but I’ll bet there are more people injured going to and from the park walking or in their cars than there are from balls going into the stands. So, I’ll have to think about this one for a while….I’m okay with a little danger at the park or at the  arena and I wonder how other people feel….hmmmm…
