Well…on my outdoor ride today, I was getting to the end of the detour when I saw two young male turkeys trying to get through an iron fence that surrounds a marina out here and when they saw me coming, they took off running down the trail in front of me for about 50 yards and now I know that turkeys can run at least 13mph…another 31 mile day today and I’m sitting here with the heating pad on my back again…but it seems to be working so I’ll keep it on til it shuts off on it’s own….still doing the one meal thing for at least the rest of the week along with no cocktails and I feel pretty good this afternoon even with the crappy sleep I had last night…so I should put a soccer match on and lie down on the couch for a nap…not sure if I will or not but it does look attractive right now…I have the laundry in the dryer and that is everything I wanted to get done today…it’s almost 3 and I’m done for the day…

Exporting evangelical hate…
Well…I am just so damn sick and tired of the supposedly “pro-life” American evangelical christians mucking around in other countries and exporting their hatred of LGBT people…over the past few weeks, Uganda has passed what could be the most dangerous laws against that community in the world…legislating prison for just being gay and imprisoning people for helping their gay friends or neighbors….and all of this was funded by American evangelical organizations to the tune of 25 million dollars spent on advertising, lobbying, and outright bribes to legislators to stoke the fears of LGTB people just as they are doing against them here in the US….now shouldn’t this be against the law? They are conducting foreign policy and private groups aren’t allowed to do that…but the bigger issue is that of the hypocrisy of these evangelical groups…they spend 25 million dollars on exporting hate when 300,000 Ugandan children under the age of 5 die each year from treatable diseases that that 25 million dollars could be used to treat…but I guess being a christian these days is all about the hate…if 300,000 children and many, many LGBT people have to die or go to jail for them to get their hate fix, that is what they are going to do…damn, I hate those people..geez….
March 28th
Well…that was a crappy night of sleep…but I feel okay so no damage done…first night of no cocktails always goes that way…climbed out of bed at 4:37 after tossing and turning all night, then went back to bed at 5am and just got up at 7:03…probably about 4 hours of sleep all night if you add it up or maybe a little less than that…had an okay day yesterday and got some stuff done and I’m going to try to do another 31 mile day on the bike and get some more yard work done…and maybe clean a bit…I do have to do laundry today and figure out what to have for lunch…going to get another big ham tomorrow since Meijers has them on sale for 99cents a pound and you can’t beat that…and I need to hit Menards since they have flower and veggie seeds on sale for 11 cents a pack again….not having a much luck getting the beans and tomatoes to come up so I put some in wet paper towel in plastic bags to see if I can get more to sprout and set them in front of the heating vent here in the living room….it may be too cold to get them going downstairs….not much to do today…just need to have another cup of coffee and then get on the bike by 8 so I can set up for three rides today….more later…

Well…when I got up this morning, I was expecting to feel pretty depressed with how I felt then…so I was expecting a lay low day but didn’t…got 31 miles in on the bike, had lunch, and then went out to spade the garden and mix in the 100 pounds of composted manure I got last week…then I picked up all of the branches that fell in the high winds we had out here…and then came in and had to put heat on my back since it’s not used to doing any heavy work…it’s been a long time since I had to work that hard but it felt good and the heat took care of the back pain…I’m hoping that it lasts overnight…taking the week off cocktails to just give my liver a rest…and I’m getting used to only one meal a day so I’m going to continue that this week, too…feels good to continue to lose weight….going to try something new with some seeds for the garden today and start them in wet paper towel and then plant them…not getting many to start just planting them in the soil….think I’ll do that right now…
What the hell is wrong with these people?
Well…with the hundreds and hundreds of anti trans bill being introduced by reps across this country, I just have to ask “what the hell is wrong with these people?” Why is is any of their damn business how parents take care of their children? I have had just about enough of the religious assholes butting in where they don’t belong…and it is all from bigoted hate that they don’t even try to hide anymore…I have to applaud two state senators in Nebraska, one with a trans son, who have had enough of their bullshit and have taken it upon themselves to shut down the entire legislature by filibuster until the bill there is withdrawn…and they won’t allow any bill, even from the dems to get passed since it’s the only way to get other dems on board…and it has worked as two more have joined in the filibuster….this is how you take these hateful assholes on…straight head on…no comity, no both sides, but full on let them have it, to let them know that they are hateful assholes and they don’t belong in our society….
March 27th
Well…running late this morning with problems with the site…up at 5:03 today but stayed in bed til 7:03 slipping in and out of sleep…had an okay day yesterday with getting the outdoor ride in and I’ve already gotten an indoor ride in and need to think about making this a 31 mile day…only had one meal yesterday with only doing one ride and I’m not sure what the second one would be today…maybe some pasta? Taking the week off cocktails to get my blood pressure down a bit and I’m looking forward to it….should lose some weight and I know I’ll have more energy….it’s a sunny day out here and looks like it’s going to stay that way so I will get out on the bike this afternoon….the wind is iffy at 12-15 but I can use the extra miles…I may do a second indoor ride just from boredom since it is just after 9:30 and I can get back on the bike by 10…not having a lot of luck with the tomatoes or beans so I need to buy more this week so I can get them going…the garden is going to be a mess this year and I really don’t care much about it for some reason….probably just a touch of depression…not much to do today….just making lunch and more rides after I get done with this….more later…
Got an outdoor ride in…
Well…yeah, I know…the plan today was to take the day off the bike today as I normally do on Sunday but when I put some bread out for the squirrels, the sun was shining and very little wind so I decided to suit up and get on the bike for an outdoor ride…it was a nice one and saw the first geese on Muskegon Lake and I scared up a flock of about 200 ducks when I rode the lakeshore trail that is right on the water….they have opened the road that runs next to the beach already but it is still covered in sand and I know they are going to bury cars in the sand alongside it since you can’t tell where the pavement is…and it’s bordered by deep sand that is going to suck a bunch of cars in like I saw a few times last year…not sure if the ride was that smart to do since my right leg started to howl about 5 miles in but it didn’t get worse so I guess it’s okay….should probably heat it some tonight….might even be able to get outside again tomorrow…but the damn temp doesn’t get in to 50′s until the second week of April….crap…

Well….if you want to see some real fascist bullshit folks…just look what’s going on across the red states…the thing I wanted to talk about was the incident in Florida on Friday when a school principal was fired for showing a picture of Michelangelo’s “David” to his school…and do you want to know the reason why? Because desantis thinks this masterpiece is pornographic because it shows genitals…so, in addition to banning books and sex education in Florida, they are now banning anything do with the human form…now are they going to ban anyone saying penis or vagina? This is how fascists work folks…the party of “freedom” is now using the government in red states to control what people are allowed to read, hear, and see…and they are trying to limit women from traveling and have already imposed a dress code only on women in the Florida legislature…does this sound familiar? Yeah…sure sounds like the Taliban to me…geez…

Well…it you have clear skies tonight, go out an take a look up and you may see some northern lights…it seems that they have been seen as far south as northern Ohio overnight last night…it’s always cloudy here and there is rain forecast overnight so I probably won’t get the chance to see any if they are still there tonight…there was a big CME that the forecasters missed a couple of days ago and I have been seeing lots of photos of it on Mastodon over the past day or so and it is really cool to see it in person…so go out and look up…
March 26th
Well…damn, I’m tired today…up at 5:30 but laid there in bed til 6:15 and forgot to set the coffee maker up last night and I really don’t feel like having to do anything right now…skipped going out for the paper today since I really can’t justify 5 bucks just to get the ads…will have to set up some bookmarks so I can get them all online in the future….only had one meal yesterday and I’m feeling it today even though I made popcorn last night…not a lot of nutrition in popcorn even with butter…bought a pound of butter this week and didn’t remember that I had a pound in the fridge already so I froze one of them and will probably freeze the second one since two pounds will last me two years and I’m not sure if I’ll outlive the butter….going to take the day off the bike today and just take it easy today and I think I need it after doing a couple of 31 mile days last week…getting towards the first thousand miles on the bikes but there is no way I’m getting anywhere near last year’s record…I’ll be happy to get to 4K miles this year and will make the big push for 7K next year….not much to do today…might clean some but I might not…right now I just need more coffee and to read a bit….more later…
