Well…it’s been almost two months to the day that my site went down and it’s going to take a while to get back in the swing of things…going to have to start reading about politics again and I’m not sure if I like that a whole lot…it really has been quite pleasant to not have to think about deadlines or topics but I sure did miss it…when I get an idea, there was no place to go with it…so now there is again and I’ll need to turn that part of my brain back on…it looks like we are under a winter storm warning for tomorrow with 5 inches of snow forecast…it looks like I won’t be able to not drive the car in the salt but they never put any on the roads up here anyway…just like they never plow them…I forgot to shovel the driveway when I went out and did the walks today…and I know I’ll be shoveling the alley if I want to get out for groceries next Wed and I can use the exercise…and it’s not getting out of the 30’s for highs for all of Dec so I guess I’ll have to get used to the cold a little faster….

Well…I did mention that I had a tree fall on my power line and ripped it off the side of the house starting a small fire and melting some of the vinyl siding…I was downstairs on the bike and it went black so I came running up the stairs to hear the loud crackling from the resulting electrical short…the power line was on the ground smoking so I called 911 and all kinds of police, fire, and Consumers energy trucks showed up…and of course it was a cold, raining Sunday when this happened so getting anyone to come out and fix it was going to wait at least a day…but all of the electrical folks who I called Monday said they were all busy and it would be two weeks before they could come out…but then I discovered an unlikely company..Service Professor…who came right out and started working on it but after he was done, consumers had to come back and do the last connection and there were trips to the city hall for permits and all kinds of other bullshit…cost 2,700 bucks that insurance covered 2,450 when I have a 1,000 dollar deductible…still can’t figure that out…oh, well

As you know, I bought a new Miata back on May 2nd and it hasn’t been as reliable as the old one…first the cd changer stopped working and couldn’t be fixed…then the driver’s side front brake caliper froze up and I had to replace it…only paid 70 bucks and it took about an hour to replace…then, last week the passenger side did the same thing so I had to replace that one that was only 63 bucks from Amazon…and it only took me 45 minutes start to finish…then Wed, while I was cooking the turkey on the grill, I decided to check out the slow starting and found that the positive battery cable was completely loose…and I’m hoping that the small amount of contact it was making was not charging the battery enough…so I tightened that up…the car was idling pretty rough so I had to figure out how to change the spark plugs which ended up being pretty easy and it made a huge difference…so after I tightened the battery cable I started the car and it immediately stalled but then fired right up like normal after that…I think the computer now has to learn everything again but I guess we’ll see after I drive it next but that won’t be till next week with the 5 inches of snow we’re getting tomorrow…back for a political one in a minute…

Well…it’s been a couple of months but my son finally got my site up and running again…and I’ve got to reset the way the site looks since the theme I was using is no longer there…so I’ll be fooling around with that for the next couple of weeks…it has been way too long since I’ve3 been able to talk about my life and things that have and are happening…a branch took out my power line and set the side of my house on fire…okay want to go out and see what the site looks like after I post…okay, resetting the themes is going to take a while…I did get my partial dentures a few weeks back and I’m still learning how to talk with them in but I don’t talk much so that is going to be a long process…think I’ll have to start reading out loud or I’ll never be understandable…one thing that came with hearing myself speak with these things in, I can pick out all the people on tv who are also wearing them…okay…need to do a car one…more later…

Well…it feels a little weird to be able to come here and do this again but I relish getting my day started the right way again…slept okay last night but feel a little worn out today and I think it’s from not eating enough…again…and I don’t think I’ll fix that even though I’ve got a freezer full of food…have some thighs left to just heat but I’m not sure what the 2nd meal will be…might make some stir fry chicken or Meijers has some pasta salad kits on sale for a buck so I may take a look at those today…it’s only 55 out there right now so it’s going to be a cool one on the bike today but I’m not sure if that means long pants on the bike today…I do need to clean the glass on the car again since the windshield is still streaky and I don’t think I used enough ammonia the last time…it’s a new coffee day today and I think I’m going to start using the 6+ pounds of whole beans I have for a while to make the next pot…not much to do today…just going to ease into it this morning and read some news since I do need a topic for later….more later….

Well…damn, I don’t know if I can convey how much I missed doing this after 12 years and over 13,000 of these…it’s as if my life is whole again today and now all I have to do is go back to normal and start reading the news again to come up with topics…and I know I’ve whined about having to do that every day but I won’t do that again…I mean it helps get me through the day and releases the anger I feel about what’s going on in this country…so tomorrow, I get to get up and come here first thing like I have for more than a decade to start my day…and it’s just such a relief…and I hope some of you discover that I’m back and come for a visit…

Well…had a pretty good day today with getting this place running again and having a little dustup with one of my sons…but we fixed that and aired out a bunch of stuff…and I found out who has been pressuring my son to cut off contact with me..and we have tentative plans to meet my granddaughter when my son has some vacation in November…so that worked out but I’ll believe it when I’m in front of her…skipped the weight work today since I didn’t feel like it but I still may do it after I read a bit…saw a big group of 15 turkeys along the trail this morning and they were pretty funny as were the deer I saw…okay, time for some reading…

Well…still haven’t figured out what happened to the font to make it so small but I’ll soldier on as best I can…man, it’s been hard to not do these for the past couple of weeks but now I’ll have to get back up to speed…have had a good week this week with getting the rides in every day and then going over 7,000 miles for the year today…so that means I should get to 8K for the year by the end of it…nothing much else has happened really…just normal days of reading and taking it easy…I did talk to my son today and blasted at him a bit…but we settled that and it looks like I’ll be heading over there in November to meet my granddaughter and I’m pretty geeked about that…and I like the effort he’s made to stay in contact with me as his mother and brother keep putting heat on him to not talk to me anymore…and with him having a toddler and a disabled wife I think he’s working his butt off just to stay above water…so I’ll be back in a bit to do more of these…won’t get caught up for the month but I’ll end the month on the upswing…

Well…have been down for a couple of weeks but just got it going again a few minutes ago…but the print is way too small and weird so I’ll try to fix that and come back

Well…it’s noon and I think I’m done for the day…got the rides in, hit the library, and fed what remains of my lawn since it’s forecast to rain tomorrow…ha,ha…the rides were great with no wind and I did take an ibuprofen since both thighs have been aching and they still do but it’s better…will get to 4,000 outdoor miles tomorrow and with the 2,620 indoor miles I’m probably going to get to around 8,000 miles for the year and that’s without any goals or 100 mile days..not bad for an old guy…and that will get me over 30,000 miles since I moved out here…it’s going to get up to 80 for a few days next week and I think that will be the last gasp for warm weather for the year and I don’t mind that…fall has always been my favorite season and I’m looking forward to that a bit…okay, time to read…
