Well…damn, I’m sore today after all of the work yesterday but today will be a little easier after I get done with the rides and the periodontist appointment…I do need to get started cleaning and I may run over to menards to get some lawn food to feed my burned out lawn with the rain that is supposed to be coming in the next few days…darn, I hurt so much that I just took an ibuprofen for the first time in a long time…it looks like a break in the weather Thurs with highs in the 70’s and we really need some relief….and I need to get some home defense bug killer since I’m getting lots of spiders and other bugs in here and the old stuff I have has a broken sprayer and that’s annoying…and a gallon of spectracide is only 6 bucks at menards…so maybe I’ll skip the beach today so I can get the food on the lawn and get the fridge and dining room cleaned…might be a good day to play a little vinyl while I work….going to get a 2nd cup of coffee down before I head out on the bike and that is going to happen before 7am…more later…

Well…I really hadn’t planned to have such a busy day today but it turned out it was…started out with getting the two rides in and then decided to hit the beach for a swim and the water was just perfect so I was in it for a good 45 minutes…then back here for lunch and then made potato salad and right after that, I decided to get the yard work done so I took the cover off the car, fired it up, and drove it around the block hitting the brakes hard to try to get some of the rust off the rotors and then mowed where the car sits…after getting the cover back on it, I decided to mow the rest of the lawn and trim some branches off the trees…after that, I did laundry and just put that away…then put the trash trolley out and now I need to do my teeth and make ice…no cocktails tonight with the periodontist appointment at 10 tomorrow morning…oh, I forgot, ran out to DD to get more braunschweiger and a package of black forest ham and a pound of kielbasa…so now I just want to have a few minutes to read…this has been a really busy day…

Well…another night of pretty good sleep with not waking up til 5:14 and the being able to get back to sleep until after the coffee maker got going…but that leaves me late to get going and won’t be on the bike til 7 or so…and I do want to get out to the beach this morning to see if the water is warm enough to swim…my right elbow is still painful today and I’m not sure if it’s comforting or not that it’s the moving tendonitis that I’ve had for years…I do need to clean today and the goal will be to get the dining room done…we are under an air quality alert today and it has been on here for days now and I wonder if I’ll feel it on the bike this morning? I do need to mow the lawn to even it out this week but it’s basically dead…I’ll move the old car and probably drive it around the block just to get everything moving again…damn I need to sell it…or give it away….not much to do today…just need to get off my ass and get things done after the beach run and have 15 minutes before I need to get on the bike…more later…

Well…yeah, I know I should have been cleaning today but I just didn’t feel like it…so all I did was take an easy day and read after the rides…and watch races…the rides were good ones today and my right knee didn’t hurt at all as it has for the past two months…the damn motorcycle rally starts tomorrow and goes for a week with nothing but noise all the time…and we already have enough noise up here as it is…have the damn moving tendonitis that has settled in my right elbow that hurts like crazy when I use the weights or even lifting my water bottle…oh, well…I think I’ll hit it with some voltaren in a bit…I am going to go to the beach tomorrow but I’ll make it early and be back here to clean by noon or so…hope the lake has warmed up so I can swim again…okay, want to read a bit so I’ll stop here…

Well…damn, slept through the night last night and that is just so damn odd…sure don’t feel like I slept at all and I need to get on the bike in 9 minutes to get back here for the MotoGP race at 7:30…I’m getting pretty tired of rushing all the time…didn’t get much done yesterday but I need to get off my butt today and start cleaning to have this place done before Sat when my son and his wife are coming over with their dog Art to celebrate my birthday that happens this week…damn, I’m getting old…not looking forward to this week and all of the motorcycle crap that is going to go on all week…the biggest rally in the eastern part of the country and that means lots of racing around and noise…oh,well…and lots of money for the businesses downtown…not much to do today…just need to get off my butt and get moving and that is harder than it looks…at least there is no wind today after the blow we had yesterday…getting old is hard…more later…

Well…the chicken tacos I made came out really good and the new batch of pickled red onions was the kicker that put them over the top…so good that I even ate two of them for lunch and I probably should only had one…oh, well…and I have enough red onions to make another batch…I do need to test out the turkey bacon I got cheap at DD to see if I want to go back there and get more at 99cents a half pound…so, I’ll do that tomorrow for one meal…got everything done early today with the idea that I was going to read but the tv app that I use crapped out twice today and I wasted 3 hours getting my channels back…that really sucks and I hope that the changes my son made to it will fix the audio/video problems it has had lately…I do have my final periodontist appointment on my birthday next week and I’ll be glad to have that over…one cool thing that happened today was that I decided to open an look at my monthly mortgage statement and found out I owe less than 40K on it and that gives me at least 120K in equity and that sure makes me smile when 4 years ago I was broke…pretty cool…reading time…

Well…damn, how the heck can I be running late at 6:15am? I need to get on the bike right now to get the rides in before 9 when the Moto GP sprint race comes on and I am getting tired of these artificial deadlines…slept okay last night and I could have stayed in bed for another hour…will only have time for one cup of coffee and I sure need more than that…huge rain just missed us to the west and that is the story of my life…my lawn is gone for the second year in a row and that sucks…haven’t had to mow it in a month but I will do it this week…mowing dirt…oh, well….at least I’m going to have some chicken tacos today with pickled red onions and I am looking forward to that…it didn’t get below 72 last night and it is really humid so I’ll be sweating after the rides…still haven’t sweated through my hat yet and that used to be the normal and I wonder what the heck changed in my body to do that? Not much to do today…need to clean some and try to get some rest…more later…

Well…you know I like having a schedule and a way to do things so I really don’t have to think about anything…but today rain came in and jumbled that all up…it is really hard to just sit here and wait when something unexpected happens…like the rain that came in this morning just as I was putting the sunscreen on for the bike rides so I had to sit here and wait til 9 when the library opened to get a few more books..it was only the second time I’ve driven my car with the top up and it’s pretty quiet…but the rain stopped just as I walked out of the library so I was able to get on the bike by 9:30 and finish the rides by around 11:30…while I was waiting for the library to open, I cut up the chicken and put it in a marinade for the tacos I’m making tomorrow and did my weight work so I guess sitting and waiting worked out okay…oh, and I hit 5,000 miles for the year on the bike today…2620 indoors and 2384 outdoors…catching up to the indoor numbers pretty quickly and should be there in a couple of weeks…it struck me that when I first got a bike computer, I was really proud to get to 500 miles by Labor day…and now 500 miles is a month’s riding…okay, have some reading to do and need to figure out what I’ll be watching on tv tonight…

Well…that was a little better…didn’t get out of bed til almost 6am but woke up at 4:30 or so and the coffee is not working yet since I just poured the first cup…it looks like rain is going to screw up my plans for the day and make me wait to get on the bike but I’ll take rain any time…need to cut up some chicken and put it in a marinade to make tacos tomorrow and I need to make more potato salad…one of the clerks at DD gave me the idea to add some celery to my recipe and I think I’ll try that with this batch…I think we talked potato salad for 5 minutes and that was fun…a nice woman that I look forward to seeing when I go there….damn, this waiting for rain is hard…reminds me of the Pink Floyd lyric from “Time”…”Staying home to watch for rain”…”but you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today”…none of that is true anymore for me and that sucks…oh, well…trying to figure out how to accomplish something as I wait for the rain or should I put the rain gear on and just get wet? I’ve never been good at waiting…and I need to go to the library to get a couple more books for the weekend..aargh…I hate waiting…more later…

Well…when I was getting ready to go to the beach this morning, the clutch pedal on the car started to squeak just like in the old car…even though the parts are completely different…so I slithered myself into the footwell so I could see all of the moving parts way up under the dash and then started hitting all of them with some wd and finally found where the squeak was and it’s now quiet again…and now I know why the clutch take up is so different…instead of going straight up to the master cylinder like the old car, this one goes up at a 45 degree angle and the linkage is about 2 feet long…really weird looking stuff…hmmm…I did get out to the beach today but Lake Michigan turned over last night and the water was about 15 degrees colder…not even to cold but straight to pain and I only got in to my ankles before I gave up and cut the stay short since I forgot to buy a red onion and I wanted to make pickled red onion to go with the chicken tacos I’m making this weekend…so I ran over to aldis and got a bag of them for 2 bucks and there is enough of them to make 3 jars so I’ll be having them with everything for a while…need to make the marinade for the chicken tomorrow so it can sit in it overnight…so, it’s been quite a busy day and now I want to read a bit before tv time…
