Well…it was an okay day yesterday…yeah, I say that a lot, what am I supposed to say? That the day sucked and I wanted to jump off a cliff? Nope…not that much drama…it was a good sports day but Michigan lost so that was not a good thing…but, the Wings won and they looked okay but not good…slept okay but I am still exhausted so there is something going on…might have to try staying up much later to see if that helps….didn’t really get anything accomplished yesterday except getting some stains out of the carpet and washing the towel I use under the bike to catch the crap that drips off it when it’s wet…and, it look like the lack of ambition is going to bleed over into today….but, there are no races or anything but football to watch today so maybe there will be a nap for the aft…who knows?

October 12th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool so that was good….and the drive back here was nice…the car is just running so good and it makes me smile every time I get into it….I wonder when that will end? Slept okay, I think, but I am still tired so maybe it wasn’t so good…..I have been worn out all week and I am getting really, really tired of it…get that? Tired of it….bad humor at 9 in the morning….I am looking forward to today with all of the sports going on…Michigan, the Tigers and the Wings all play today along with a race tonight so at least I won’t be bored…at least I hope not…I am making another pork shoulder today and need to get it in the oven before I get out on the bike…and that is about all I have to do today other than cleaning a little…and, I mean a little…not more than a half hour today…then, total veg for the rest of the day…going to skip the Miata club today…there is a color tour drive but they planned it to go to the south where there won’t be any colors….would rather just hang here and do my own in a couple of weeks…more later…
October 11th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I did get a few things done…finally got the bathroom cleaned and the car washed and waxed so it was not a total loss…the Tigers won and move on to the ALCS so that was cool but the Wings stunk up the place again…not sure what is going on with them….slept okay, I think, but since I didn’t chart it again, I’m not sure….it was a cocktail night so I feel a little slow today so I’m on the second cup of coffee trying to revive some before the bike ride…the heat came on for the first time last night and that is kind of depressing…don’t want the season to change yet….not much to do today…pool, since it’s Friday…but that is about it….going to take it easy this morning and just kind of ease into the day….more later…
The cliff moves back a little…
Well… it looks like the repubs are rapidly moving back from the cliff as their masters the Koch brothers, and the Heritage foundation have finally said enough of this batshit craziness they have embraced. While I applaud the results, since when should an organization that is not part of the government so blatantly be able to call the shots and control our entire government? Who elected the Kochs? That is what I see as the problem with the current state of affairs…when the Citizens United decision allows two rich brothers to control the entire government through the money that they give to candidates….what I really don’t get is whey elected officials should allow this to happen…where is their pride? I guess that this is the fruit of the astroturf tea party organizations that the Koch’s have fueled over the past few years…they have bought themselves a government and their money now displaces the votes of millions and millions of Americans…we should all be really pissed about this…and take care of the problem next year by voting these wholly owned legislators out and putting people in their place that will truly represent us…not just money…geez…
October 10th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I had a little fun going out to have a couple with G….but, I need to stop spending money so I can get through the rent in November…I did get some cleaning done yesterday for the first time in a while and I hope to keep that up today…slept okay but I did chart the the wake ups and it was surprising…up 22 times overnight and now I understand why I am so tired…there is never a time that I sleep more than an hour at a time and that is just not good..not sure what to do about it, though, so that will take some thought…and, my damn elbow is just screaming at me so that doesn’t help…not much to do today…I am going to continue cleaning and then get ready for the Tigers and the Wings tonight…broke down and am going to have cocktails tonight…so that means only tonight and Friday….I do feel better only doing two nights a week so I am going to keep that up…I am trying to decide whether to do the color tour with the Miata club Sat….starting from Hastings is not my idea of the ideal place so I may just do one of my own later in the week…more later…
Things are so absurd I don’t know how to comment…
Well…have been sitting here most of the aft trying to figure out how to comment on the politics of the day but they are so absurd that I really don’t know what to say…I don’t think I’ve seen so many idiot repubs in one spot and it is making my head hurt…the worst of the worst are the new set of deniers that have set their sights on the debt ceiling. Led by ole Rand Paul, one of the least intelligent people ever to be a senator, we have this group saying that defaulting on our debt doesn’t matter, that we can just pay it in little drips and drabs and everything will be fine…don’t they remember the same nonsense got us the downgrade in 2011 that cost us over a hundred billion dollars just because these asses wanted to make a point that they are a childish bunch of idiots who don’t understand how the economy works. And now, they want to do the same thing but even worse…any default here will cause the credit markets to freeze and raise the borrowing costs to the US by more hundreds of billions….and will probably crash the stock market to the tune of a thousand points or more…costing investors trillions…I just can’t believe these idiots are in charge…geez…
October 9th
Well…it was a strange day yesterday and it felt like someone had sucked all of the energy out of me….so, I tried to eat more and we’ll see if that translates into something today…slept okay but I think I’m going to try to record how many times I wake up at night…maybe a note pad and a pen…I need to know so I can actually do something about the lack of sleep…had some dreams, too that involved fishing and BMW’s crashed into ponds…yeah, I don’t understand it either….didn’t get much done yesterday..didn’t even cook so that will have to change today…the Tigers did win yesterday so that makes a game 5 Thursday along with the Wings….need new batteries for the remote….not much to do today…I do need to do the spider patrol in the bathroom and get rid of the piles of mail on the table…along with more and more resumes…soul crushing boredom….but it looks nice outside and the bike ride should raise my spirits some….more later…
The crazy runs deep in Scalia…
Well…there was an interesting article about ole Scalia in New York magazine this past week that should cement his status as the craziest MF ever to sit on the supreme court…even though he finds himself to be one of the “intellectual giants” on the court (that might not be his own words but it is how he acts when anyone disagrees with him) he is the least curious justice that has ever been…but the worst part is that he is proud of it…just like the rest of the repubs in this country. His daily reading consists of only the Wall Street Journal (one of Murdoch’s propaganda rags) and the Washington Times….another paper that is well know to be a shill for the republican party…then goes on to say he never listens to anything but right wing talk radio….building a right wing bubble that would be the envy of any of those on the right and isolating himself from any challenges to his wrong-headed ideas on many, many issues starting with Citizens United and the DOMA dissent that he wrote. But, the thing that brings his delusions into focus is his bald assertion that the devil exists and is active in daily life…and he attacked his interviewer when a look of disbelief crossed over his face…and then continued his attack saying that he was so isolated that he didn’t understand the “real” America where almost everyone believes in the devil…well…not in my America they don’t…now we have a justice of the highest court in the US being proud of the fact that he lets myth and superstition rule his life? It is just another instance of the right thinking that everyone thinks like them when it is just not true…and this is driven by the fact that the right only listens to the right and right wing radio and media so they are deluded into thinking that the country supports that nonsense….I had no respect for Scalia before…now, I’m just scared of him….and the damage he can still do to this country…geez…
Milestones and praying mantises…
Well…over the past week, there have been some milestones on the bike that I have hinted at but have just done the math and now I can really report them….first…this is the sixth year in a row I have gone at lest 2,000 miles on the bike…and with adding up the total mileage (yeah, I write that stuff down) I find that I have done over 17,000 miles on this bike, not the 16K that I thought I’d done…when I look at the globe and see where that would get me, I could have ridden to India heading west from here…and that makes it only 8K miles that I need to still do to have ridden the thing around the world…and that is kind of weird…but, cool when you think of it. The second thing is the praying mantises…I saw more than a dozen of them on the trail just sunning themselves…not sure but I think this is pretty late in the year for so many of those things to be around…but, it was neat to see….no more trail weirdness right now…
October 8th
Well…it was a long day yesterday with the Tigers losing again and then going out to celebrate G’s birthday that lasted too long…it was a nice drive home with the top down and it being 48 degrees….slept okay and had weird dreams that were mostly centered around the Miata again….and hotels, and repairs in the parking lot…I did get out to ride the bike after the rain but I really don’t like going out after 3 though…way too much traffic and no one is paying attention….almost have the bike adjusted so it will shift again after the cable replacement but there still is a little way to go….not much to do today….I do have all of the normal things but after spending cash last night at the bar, today will be a spend no money day….more later…
