Well…it’s been a busy day today with having to go to the bank and get a check for the car money and send it express mail…and the owner Richard and I have been figuring out the logistics after my discovering that the last ferry back to Muskegon leaves 45 minutes after I get there so he said he would bring the car and meet me there when the ship pulls in…and he was nice enough to lower the reported price enough so I save enough in sales tax to pay for ferry trips both ways…that was cool…then my grill ran out of gas just as I started the ham so I had to go get the tank refilled and didn’t get the ham done until almost 3 so only one meal today…I did get three rides in but I’m not sure about tomorrow…I do have an errand to run early but then the rest of the day will be mine…so, on May 2nd I’ll have my new car and be back here by 3:30 or so…won’t be able to transfer the title and plates until the following Monday and then I’m going through the car and do a detail even though it looks already done…time for tv…

Well…boy, what a day yesterday and that is going to continue today as I need to go to the bank and get the check for the car and then to the post office to get it in the mail…it’s 7 am and I am having a hard time getting going today but one thing can say is that I didn’t have to take anything for my mouth yesterday for the first time in over three weeks but it does hurt a bit from grinding my teeth overnight and I need to figure out how to stop that…life has seemed to be a lot of work lately and I just want to get through today…just did a salt water rinse to get the sockets cleaned out and I am going to really try to not take anything for the pain…think I’ll do one ride indoors to start the day and then try to do two rides outdoors if I can miss the rain…but that is going to be some work…holy crap, there is a big storm just over in Wisconsin that is going to hit here in a couple of hours so I may wait to ride outdoors until this aft…going to hit the bank after it opens at 9 so I’ll be able to get the indoor ride in and another cup of coffee down before that….more later….

Well…I had a pretty good day today with getting the car and logistics  figured out and I’ll be heading across the lake the first week of May…going to send the check tomorrow to seal the deal…this is going to be the best car I’ve ever owned and it has 100,000 miles less on it than the first Miata when I bought it so it really is going to be my last car and I’m not sure how I feel about that…I’ll be an 80 year old driving around in a Miata and that’s pretty cool…and I get to take the ferry over and back so that’s cool, too….what the heck is the chance that I find a car in Wisconsin near where the ferry dock is? I guess my luck has held again but pulling the trigger fast helped, too sine the owner had other people interested… I did get three rides in today with two of them outdoors but I think I’ll be indoors tomorrow with the rain in the forecast…but right now it’s new book time…

Well…damn, I think I may have found a new car and I am excited about that…but it is in Wisconsin so I’ll have to figure out how the heck to get there….Tom, are you up for a road trip? Ha, and that is funny since Tom gave me a ride to pick up my first Miata…I’ll even pay you a few hundred to do it it you can…it’s weird at times how things work out…I’ve only owned one car with less mileage and that was an 88 Caravan I bought new and had to go to Toledo to pick up…but a Miata with under 50K miles and me putting 9 miles a week on it will certainly last me the rest of my life…maybe I can take the ferry over to Milwaukee and have the owner pick me up? I guess we’ll see…have a lot to do today and need to get going on it in 9 minutes or so to get the first ride in…need to hit the library, Meijers, and one more stop…and I need to finalize the deal on the car so I’m going to be busy for the next few days….but a good busy that will end with me having a new car…more later…

Well…when I finished up the last book tonight, I had a couple of hours to kill so I thought I’d look for cars and I think I’ve found my dream car…a 2008 Miata that looks just gorgeous and only has 49,000 miles on it…it’s a little pricey at 13 grand but it looks new and can be my last car for sure…it’s an upscale grand touring model that has all the options on it…but still no power top and I can live with that…have already gotten a response from the owner…another old guy like me who has his right rotator cuff blown out and can’t shift…oh, and it’s a 6 speed, too, and I really wanted that…I want this car…it’s a gorgeous dark slate color and only two owners since new…oh, and never driven in salt…,can I be this lucky? Things have worked out for me like getting my house so maybe I can have a two fer and get a new car, too…fingers crossed…

Well…it really did look pretty warm outside so I suited up and went out into 44 degree temp day with the wind blowing 25-30 with gusts to 35….and with the wind blowing out of the NW, it was brutal going out…down all the way to 20th gear when I’m normally in 23rd going out…but the ride back was a hoot and I got up over 25 on the flat street section of the trail in 24th gear…I’m glad I decided to wear my warmest gloves and my hands were thanking me by not turning white…before I did the outdoor ride, I finally did the top to bottom cleaning the bathroom needed and did laundry…finished up the BAH and put the leftovers in the freezer and won’t cook the next one until the weekend so I need to find other food…probably some fish and fries or I’ll just skip the second meal today….okay, weight work time…oh, I did finish the 4th book so I can go to the library again tomorrow…

Well…I sure as hell don’t want to be up at 5:21 but that is what happened this morning…and my mouth hurts again but not too bad so I hope the tylenol will work…I really do need to figure out how to stop grinding my teeth or the pain is going to continue forever…damn…I did sleep okay so I guess that’s something…and I have another day of taking it easy where I’ll finish up the last book and hit the library tomorrow…but I need to start weaning myself off of reading so much so I’ll have time to do the rest of the things I need to do…it’s been a good run of 4 books a week for months now but I am running out of authors like I ran out of shows to watch…I guess it’s just something new that I have to deal with but I’m getting tired of having to do that…hell, I’m getting tired of everything…I remember having days where I didn’t do anything but that was so long ago that it is fading from my memory….man, that would be such a luxury and I wonder why I just can’t do that anymore? Oh, well…need to get moving and get on the bike by 7am so that gives me time to have one more cup of coffee….more later….

Well…man, it’s been a long day today but I only rode twice so I feel pretty guilty about that…but I had other things to do…I did get the seeds planted in the buckets downstairs and I have enough of them to plant the garden, too so I am going to give that a try after I get plants up and growing enough where I know they will survive…didn’t drill drain holes in the buckets so I’ll just move them under the little roof over the back door when it’s going to rain a lot…and with only having 4, they will all fit and still leave enough room to walk out the door…it looks like I’ll be able to do two outdoor rides Thursday when it’s going to be over 60 here…I did do the grocery run this morning but didn’t have much to buy…I did get another ham but I’m not going to cook it til the weekend so I can use some fish that I have in the freezer…and just one more meal off the first ham and I’ll be freezing the bone and the rest of the ham to make soup in a couple of weeks…so I probably should take out one more container of soup so I’ll have room for the new batch…okay, tv time…

Well…up early today at a little after 5:30 and I know that is going to hurt later…and I ground my teeth last night and my whole face hurts from it…need to get moving and do the grocery run today and I’m not sure if I’m going to get another ham or a turkey breast for 1.29 a pound…it’s going to be cold today, only in the 40’s and I am so tired of it…we’re in the middle of April and it should be in the 70’s by now…oh, well…need to go down and get a ride in before I head out but need to decide if I’m going to get one more bucket for the garden this year…this is a brand new way of thinking about the garden and really would like to have some tomatoes this year…need to get the outside faucet turned on but it’s still going to be below freezing for the next week and that will ruin the plastic valve I use to turn it on and off…did I say I hate this frickin cold weather? Yeah, I do…it’s going to be a chore to get moving today and I’m pretty damn tired…going to have to mow the lawn later this week and I’m not ready for that…and I need to hit the lawn with weed killer but that means I really do need to open up the outdoor tap…more later…

Well…it was kind of a busy day today with getting three rides in to start and then raking the leaves from the fence lines…putting weed killer on the front part of the lawn, and then getting the potting soil downstairs and filling the buckets…and that worked out perfectly with each 5 gallon bucket filled by one bag…that cost me 28 bucks but it is going to be convenient to be able to just plant the seeds and then not have to replant them in the garden…it will be a small garden but if I get some tomatoes, cukes, and peppers I’ll be happy…might even buy one more bucket to do some beans and peas…even if it doesn’t work, I’ll have lots of nice buckets…the first boat showed up in one of the marinas on the route today so it is officially “first boat day” and I saw the first freighter of the year on Muskegon Lake so it was a two fer…and I saw Stupid again standing right on the center line of the street stopping traffic both ways…what a weird assed bird…more reading…
