Well…as always, running late today and I am getting a little excited that I can get back on the bike today even though it is already over 80 and it’s not even 8:30 yet…it looks like another over 100 day today and I am starting to get tired of them even though I like the heat…there were dreams last night but I don’t remember them too well so I won’t report them…I did have to put the air on yesterday aft while I was re-assembling the bike because I was drenched and then left it on…it was just too hot….going to have to take it easy for the ride today with being off for a week but that will be okay…I do need to watch F-1 qualifying so I’m going to do that…more later….

July 6th
Well….survived one of the hottest days in my lifetime yesterday and it looks like it’s going to be hotter today…103 or so and I am going to do it without air conditioning…at least until bedtime….but, I didn’t do too much…other than clean up around here…and it is going to be the same today…I do have to go out to Tom’s and pick up the bike and put it back together….that will be all for the day…and that’s all for right now…need to go out and get the papers and then come back here for coffee to watch the F1 practice…more later….
Okay…I’m back for a short update…it is hot outside…104 degrees and I had to break down and put the air on….I did get the bike fixed…Tom did a nice job on the welding and I only had to do a little filing to make the post fit…and the duct tape doesn’t look too bad…so, back on the bike tomorrow but I’ll have to go out early since it is going to be 97 and humid….but it will be nice to get back out and get some exercise….not sure if I’ll do a political one today…maybe…
More Mitt….
Well…just a little short one on an article that was reported the other day that goes to how ethically challenged ole Mitt is….and how he has no problem lying about anything if it will further his political prospects…a few days back it was revealed that in his days as a job killer at Bain, he instructed one of his subordinates to lie to obtain information about a competitor…a great example to set for people who work for you and not a trait that anyone should want in a president. Except the right, that is, who have absolutely no problem lying, cheating, and stealing to shove their warped vision of the US down our throats. It looks like the people are starting to get an idea of who the real Mitt is and the polls are reflecting it finally….if you haven’t seen it, there was a funny arc in “Doonesberry” this week that took ole Mitt’s job creation claims to task…he created lots of jobs but those jobs were in China and the Chinese government sent a representative to give him a plaque for it…funny stuff…
July 5th
Well…running late again and again, I’m not sure why but does it really matter? I had a total veg day yesterday with the ‘Firefly” marathon that I watched most of the day..it was too hot to do much else with the upper reading at 99 degrees so I didn’t….I think I may have slept okay but I’m not sure…didn’t seem to flip and flop like normal but the pillow and sheets were on the floor so I must have done some….not much to do today….I am trying to get moving and get out the door to read the papers and have coffee but I’m not having much luck…more later…
Something weird and surprising here in Michigan….
Well….I have been vegging it out today in the heat but I do have to comment on a weird occurrence that happened a couple of days ago here…as you probably know, across the country the repubs have been passing new laws aimed at “voter fraud” but whose true purpose is to suppress the votes of those Americans that tend to vote for the dems since the repubs can’t win on their ideas. That same thing was happening here in Michigan using the model laws that have been dreamed up by ALEC…the extreme right wing organization that gave us the “stand your ground” laws that have been responsible for hundreds of deaths across the country. But, there was surprising thing that happened here after the repubs passed bills to do the same thing…our governor vetoed them…yep, my jaw dropped too when I read about it….it is the first time that a repub governor had the guts to go against the party lockstep and lies that led to those laws. I am starting to get a grudging respect for Governor Snyder…even though he has gone along with the righties many times since he was elected and I don’t agree with any of them….this time he did what was right for all of the people of Michigan, not just those who voted for him. So, thank you Mr. Snyder…keep doing what is right…not just for the political right….
July 4th
Well…it seems that I am running late all the time these days…and it is happening again today…plus, I really don’t have much to say right now feeling as I do..which is kind of crappy…I do need to go to Meijers right now so I’ll come back later to continue…okay…just got back…that’s not true…been back for a while and have had my coffee and the newspapers and I think my brain is working again…have been sitting here trying to decide whether to work out or not…or what to do today…I may just make it a lazy day and do nothing but then I’d feel guilty and that would probably last until the weekend so I probably shouldn’t…I do have another one today about our governor here in Michigan and the surprise vetos issued yesterday..but, that one is for politics, not here…that’s enough for now..it is already over 85 degrees and heading for 95 today so I will have to figure out how to stay cool…or not, who knows?
Another day…some hope…
Well….it has been a hot one and I didn’t get the bike fixed yet…broken welder and all that but should have it back by the weekend…there have been some developments that I did want to comment on…first…I am laughing to watch the repubs twist and turn and try to take political advantage of the ACA ruling…but, there are new polls that show the almost 60% of the people want to move on to try to fix the rest of the countries problems…not go back to re-legislate and litigate the health care battle. So, keep it up repubs, your opposition will work well with your base but the rest of the country is moving on and is going to leave you behind in November. Oh, other polls out today show that Obama is taking the lead in many of the swing states and among independents…so, again repubs, keep it up, whatever you are doing is working for us…I have glimmers of hope that the 1% may not be able to buy this election after all….yay!
One last thing…I just about gagged when tea party darling rep Joe Walsh started whining that his opponent…the veteran Tammy Duckworth, who lost both of her legs to an RPG in Iraq, talks about her war record saying that it’s unseemly that she trots out her injuries when she talks about her experiences….get over it Joe…she served, you didn’t and she gets to talk about her sacrifice any time she wants….last I saw, you still had all of your limbs….
July 3rd
Well…running late again today and again, I’m not sure why…it was an okay day yesterday and I did have a little fun meeting up with G for a couple..and the ride home at 11 with the top down was fun…that’s what having a convertible is all about…but, my allergies are in full kill mode this morning and I think it will be a day to take something for it…I’m pretty sure I don’t like all these 90+ degree days and I can’t remember the last time it was so warm for so long…looks like a couple of days of 100′s even this week…not sure why I feel so crappy today…must be the allergies…I do need to get ready to go out for coffee….not much to do today….it is pool day and Tom is going to try to weld the bike….I may have to start looking for an new one if this doesn’t work….
Just a weird little thing…
Well….as you know, I broke the bike last week and have been waiting for it to be welded…so, today I talk to the guy and he promises that he’ll do it today but raises his price for making 2 inches of welds to 75 bucks from the 25 bucks he quoted…so, after talking to Tom and having him offer to weld it, I went and picked the bike up since I wasn’t going to pay 75 bucks for a 10 minute job….after I got back here, the idiot from the welding shop called me and started bitching at me and told me he was the only one if GR that could do the weld and WHEN I brought it back to him the price would be double to 150 bucks…and, of course, I told him I would junk the bike before I’d ever let him touch it….what an ass….but, that was the only thing that has happened to me today…
July 2nd
Well…running late today and there really is no reason for it…been up since 6 or so but just couldn’t get motivated to do this until now…and I still don’t feel that good…stayed up until 1 and back up at 6; just not enough sleep but that can be rectified later today…have to go pick the bike up even though it’s not done…and then find someone that will really work on it…but, I am going to go get coffee first…not much else to do today…it is going to be hot all week but I’m not sure if I’m going back to the beach or not…we’ll see…more later…
