Well…I was going to come back and add to the one from earlier today but thought I’d do one on sports instead…there have been lots of games/races to comment on so I think I’ll start with the games. First, Manchester United finally looked a little like themselves today with a 3-0 win over Newcastle United…it’s about time they did something with the addition of Van Persie and it looks like RVP and Rooney are starting to mesh a little…it might make it fun to watch over the winter. Then, there was the Tigers game today…so very exciting when they went into the bottom of the ninth tied at 4-4 with Oakland and proceeded to load the bases with one out…and the very little used Don Kelley, who was hitting .186, came up and hit a sac fly to the outfield to win it 5-4…pretty cool. The last thing was the Talladega race that was on this aft….and the 20 car wreck on the last lap that had Tony Stewart upside down and bouncing on the top of a few other cars as the wreck unfolded. One of the coolest things about the wreck was the Tony didn’t make any excuses for his mistake…taking responsibility with no weasel words or qualifying…I wonder why no one else does that? Oh, well…just asking…

October 7th
Well…as always, running late today but I had a lot of work to do before the Man U game that just started so this time I really do have a good excuse….it was a fun day yesterday but way too busy with lunch with T, over to my brother’s house, and then out to Rockford for G’s birthday dinner…didn’t get home until after 9 and I am worn out…I am going to go watch part of the match and come back later to add to this one and do another today…
October 6th
Well…I finally think I may be feeling better…but the lungs are still a little congested…I do have more energy even after a couple of cocktails last night so I will keep my fingers crossed that this continues…slept okay last night but no dreams, as usual, but I won’t complain too much…and the bike has taken a beating for the past couple of days and the repairs are holding so far so that makes me happy…this cold weather doesn’t, though,…had to wear a sweatshirt for the first time since April yesterday and that looks like the dress from now on…I do have some stuff to do today…lunch with T later and then maybe out to G’s birthday bash at 6….not sure about that, though, we’ll see….oh, and the Tigers start the playoffs today along with Michigan playing at 4 so it will be a busy day….more later…
Still in shock….
Well…I am still in shock about the debate…and the new meme from the right that says it didn’t matter that ole Mitt lied his butt off…he just looked better doing it…and we are two days later and the polls haven’t moved so I look at it as a mulligan for Obama…but he’d better do better at the next one or I will lose more respect for him. I am just struck how the repubs have no meaning to the words they say…and how the media allows them to just keep changing their stances on everything on almost daily basis…and I did laugh out loud today when the commenters on the right went through the roof about the good job numbers that came out being convinced that the dems are “cooking” the numbers to win the election…and all I have to say about that is “project much?” When they are in power, that’s what the right does because they don’t believe in facts but the dems take the numbers for what they are good or bad…I think the repubs have destroyed this country with their continued assault on the institutions that make this country work…you don’t get to pick and choose your numbers…geez…
October 5th
Well…it was just another day yesterday but I may feel better…not sure yet but maybe…trying to get moving and my tooth still hurts so that is making it a little harder than normal…and, I need to head over to Meijers to pick up a few things and then back here for coffee….haven’t had any coffee for two days and I wonder if that is part of the lack of energy I have been feeling…hope so, that would be easier than just getting old…and I do need to clean around here today and make another pork loin in the slow cooker since I need to eat out of the freezer for the next week or so…more later…
I’m disappointed…and other things…
Well….it has been a long day and I still feel like crap even after going out to shoot pool…I even won but that didn’t help me feel better at all…I am really disappointed in Obama and I have taken the day off from reading or watching the news and that saved me 3 bucks out of the 4 that I have left….but that doesn’t change the fact that ole Mitt lied and lied and lied all night and I can understand how Obama was taken aback by that fact….and I fault Jim Lehrer some for not calling Romney out on it….okay….I’m not feeling this one right now so I’m going to stop…and have a cocktail and watch some tv…and really try to do better tomorrow…not sure what is going on but I just don’t feel lucid at all…
October 4th
Well…it was a long day of news yesterday and then the debate…I am so disappointed in Obama…he just didn’t punch ole Mitt enough…but that is a topic for later…I still feel crappy today and I’m not sure I want to do anything today…the bike is broken again and I’m not sure I even want to work out…I may just take the day off….
Mitt’s tax problem…
Well…Just a short one on the whole “47% of the people don’t pay taxes” flap that came from the callous comment that Romney made…it made me think of another comment that ole Mitt made a few months back when he was pressed on the fact that he only pays 14% in income taxes and his response was that he was paying everything that the tax code requires and not a penny more. The sad thing is that he then makes the 47% comment when those people that don’t pay federal income taxes are doing exactly the same thing…they are following the tax code that allows them to not pay these federal taxes. So, what is perfectly okay for a rich guy like ole Mitt is wrong when the middle or lower class does it? Just another example where Mitt is amoral. saying anything to appeal to whoever he is talking to with no consistency or core…geez…
October 3rd
Well…it was just a wasted day yesterday and I don’t really feel much better today…not quite as tired as yesterday so maybe I’m getting over the bug….not sure though, since my head still feels like it is full of concrete….I did try to eat more yesterday and I am going to do the same today to see if that has some effect….I do need to hit the grocery store and use up the rest of the cash on hand since I do want a cocktail for the debate tonight…so, I think I’ll get moving and get that done..more later…
It’s been a long day…
Well…it has been a long day and I am starting to realize that buying the newspapers in the morning is a good investment…at least for the purpose of writing these things….I am looking forward to the debates tomorrow and if Obama can’t dismantle Romney easily, he shouldn’t be re-elected…after all, ole Mitt is just a stiff that has changed his stances on everything that is important and he really does hate almost half the country because they aren’t rich….even I could beat that stiff…and I wouldn’t have to prepare at all…and I can’t wait to hear the “zingers” that ole Mitt has been rehearsing for 6 weeks…my response would be to him “is that one of the famous zingers you have been practicing?”…and then hit him early and often on his dismissal of the 47%, his voodoo tax plan, and Medicare, Medicare, Medicare….then I’d mention the new studies that are out that show that the trashing of the economy by the repubs is the real reason why the economy is not recovering as fast as it could…and I would take credit for Obamacare…what do the repbus have in response to that…give more money to the insurance companies that buy their votes? As I said, it’s been a long day and I am so frickin tired that I can’t stand it…
