Well…with the arguments in the SC today about vaccine mandates that the Biden administration has imposed to try to stop the spread of covid, it is just stunning that Gorsuch used a fox talking point to justify striking them down saying that flu kills “hundreds of thousands” every year….the only place that is a “fact” is on fox news when the real death toll is in the 30-40K range…in no way comparable to covid…and if he gets his way, mandatory vaccination for any and all disease…say measles, mumps, and rubella that is now required for kids to go to school will be struck down and then you can guarantee that these diseases will explode and he will basically gut any government regulation of public health issues. but the stunning thing came from Alito where he worries that the news will report that he is responsible for thousands of deaths if he strikes down the regulations…not that people will die, nope, how it will reflect on him is his only concern…and he is pushing for allowing an injunction that would stop the mandates from taking effect until they “study” the arguments more….in direct conflict with how they ruled in the Texas abortion case where they allowed the law to go into effect as they “studied” the arguments. This is how you delegitimize a court, where it is clear they aren’t following any precedent but are working hard to support their right wing views with little regard to the law…after all, vaccine mandates have been in force since the 1920′s and every court has found them to be legal…but that doesn’t matter to these hacks…geez….

Never seen this Joe Biden before…
Well…I think any of us who have followed Joe Biden at all in his career would have expected more of the same style of centrist incremental politics that he has practiced his whole life…til now. His 8 months in office have shown us a bold Biden, one who has ended the war in Afghanistan without listening to the people who got and kept us there for 20 years….an now he is pushing for 45% of all of our energy to come from solar in the next 10 years…and the one thing we aren’t seeing is him apologizing for any of his actions or trying to cajole people to understand…just yesterday, he gave a speech saying: “we’re going to protect our vaccinated workers from unvaccinated co-workers” as he announce a vaccine mandate for all companies with more than 100 workers…and he wasn’t done there…he went after the stupid repubs who are trying to get people killed with their laws against mask mandates and vaccine mandates for schools and bluntly called out the repubs who are trying to take money from schools for protecting children and promised he had their backs…and he made it abundantly clear that he is done with the bullshit repubs who whine and whine and do nothing but make things worse…and the refreshing thing to me is that there seems to be little political calculation in any of this…it’s just Joe doing the right thing for the right reasons and that is the kind of politician I can get behind…you go Joe!
