Well…dodged a bullet with the new car this morning when I found that the rear brakes were adjusted perfectly so I didn’t have to do any work but jack it up and turn the back wheels…I did get the chance to see under the car and it has no rust anywhere and the rear suspension is nothing like that of the old car…the old one was simple double wishbone front and rear but the new one is what looks like a 4 link of some sort that I’m still trying to figure out…damn, just mowed the lawn and it triggered my allergies so bad I’ve been coughing and sneezing for a half hour now…I sure hope the meds come today…it has been pretty busy today with an indoor ride, an outdoor ride, then over to the library, back here to mow the lawn and now lunch and then out for one more ride and I should be done other than laundry by 1pm or so…okay, need to make lunch….more later…

May 30th
Well…that really, really sucked…didn’t sleep at all last night…even went to be late but then was up at 3am and never really got back to sleep until I gave up at 5 and now I’m pouring coffee down trying to get my body started…need to work on the car today since I think the parking brake/rear calipers are adjusted too tight and are dragging so I need to pull the wheels and back the adjusters off a bit and then I can clean the wheels while I have them off…and that is going to push the trip to the library back to late morning and errands to this aft…and I may only do one ride today since my body just needs some rest but we’ll see how I feel after I get the work done…still damn cold here at 47 and we have not had a spring this year and that sucks…we’re almost to summer and still in the 40′s? Oh, well, not anything I can do about it…forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer for the Masala I want to make tomorrow so that may be put off til Sunday…have plenty of other food that I got from DD so no big deal…need to get on the bike by 6:30…or I really don’t need to but I’m getting bored already so I might just as well…my darn allergies are terrible this morning and I can’t wait for the meds to get here today….more later….
Ha, no tariffs…
Well…Just wanted to do a quickie on some breaking news on tariffs and the illegal imposing of them by the idiot trump…the US Court of International Trade just ruled that idiot boy doesn’t have the power to impose tariffs unilaterally so, as of this morning, all of the tariffs he slapped on the world are null and void…and it falls to the courts to save the country from this asshole since his own party is just fine with him doing whatever the hell he wants…and the court said that he was “permanently enjoined” from imposing tariffs meaning that he can’t do it again…so I’ll be watching this news today and I predict he will ignore this ruling like the idiot does with any ruling he doesn’t like…man, the kethup is going to be hitting the walls today…
May 29th
Well…another morning of waking up at 5 and I am trying to figure out the pattern of that and how it changes over time…at least it’s not 3:04 like it was for quite a while…just poured the first cup of coffee and need to get that down so I can get on the bike downstairs soon to get the day started…going to try to get 33 miles in again today before I leave to make the run out to Ada so that will make for a busy morning…I was reminded by one of my Mastodon friends that I described a pretty good day yesterday and when I look back, it was…so many food bargains and the good health news along with carving out some time to read made for a day that most people would love…and I realize that it was luxurious and I am fortunate…it is still cold out here at 51 and that is just wrong for the end of May and it’s barely going to get over 60 but that is still warm enough to put the top down on the car if I dress for it…so no shorts today and probably a fleece…and I need to get 6 new discs in the changer in the car for new music for the ride…I was going to say not much to do today but that’s not true…going to be running until I get in the car at 12:15 and I need to remember to eat something before I leave….more later…
Got some deals…
Well…it was an okay day today and I got some real deals at DD today…I mean a half pound of bacon for a buck? Or a 12 oz package of thin sliced mesquite smoked turkey for a buck? Or a 12 oz package of honey ham for a buck? They had their 10 for 10 bucks sale on and I spent 12 bucks on a huge bag of food…even got a package of mixed salami for a buck…pretty good deal…now I need to find room in the freezer for most of it…it didn’t rain while I was running errands this morning so I didn’t have to wash the car…I did get 33 miles in on the bike today but it was more of a struggle than I like…I’ll have to get on the bike early tomorrow to get the miles in before I head out to shoot pool at 1pm…and my friend K might just come for a bit and it would be good to see her since I haven’t seen her in almost two years…and then I can show her the new car, too….I did make the potato salad this aft and the eggs were okay…thought I overcooked the eggs but they were okay…and the red potatoes worked just fine…so again, I have too much food here but that’s okay…haven’t been eating enough and my clothes have started to hang on me…it’s finally raining here and we really need it but there’s nowhere near what they forecast…oh,well…back to reading…
Killing the travel industry…
Well….it’s official, the idiot trump has killed the travel industry in the US…travel to the US from everywhere is down 61%…and it’s all due to the idiot trump and his minions arresting and jailing tourists who are here legally…one woman from England was in jail for 17 days for the crime of coming here and spending her money…an with every country in the world now warning it’s people to not travel to the US, it’s only going to get worse…every airline in the world have cancelled at least half of their flights to the US and that is going to get worse, too and the tourist industry is never going to recover from it…just as his stupid trade policies are re-aligning the world without the US, his stupid immigration policies are going to leave a black hole where tourism used to be…and with it a million jobs will fall into that hole and disappear…when all this stupidity hits the economy, we’ll see a recession for sure…and it’s all idiot boy’s fault…geez…
May 28th
Well…a little bit of good news this morning with the results of the PSA test showing that the cancer hasn’t come back and that is a relief…it’s always hanging over me that one of these times it’s going to show the that the little bit they had to leave behind was going to explode and kill me but not right now…didn’t look at the rest of the tests since it’s not really important to me and there is not anything I can do to change them…slept okay last night but was up at 5:30 again and that is way too damn early but there is nothing I can do about that either…I did get some work done yesterday and now I’m waiting for it to rain to wash the grass seed into the ground and sprout some of it…used 15 bucks of seed yesterday and that is not cheap…I did use the rest of the red potatoes for another batch of potato salad that I need to put together today but I may have overcooked the eggs since I forgot I had them boiling…oh, well…I do need to do the grocery run today but don’t have much on the list so it will be a quick one…if I drive in the rain today I’ll have to wash the car before the run out to Ada to shoot pool tomorrow and I am looking forward to that…need to drive the car more…will turn it over to 50K miles on the run tomorrow but who cares? Not much to do today…need to get on the bike for the indoor ride here in a minute and then get on the grocery run…will have to dance around the rain to get two rides in outdoors but I’m going to try…as always…more later..
Amazon is getting worse…
Well…it looks like Amazon is taking more and more items and putting them out of the reach of free shipping…and I know this since I tried to purchase items that used to be eligible from my buy again page and this time there is no free shipping choice to make…and I had enough items to get over the 35 dollar line that used to be 25 dollars…so now I have another free trial of prime for 30 days and I’ll cancel it before that…I did get a bottle of benadryl allergy meds pretty cheap…600 tablets for 10 bucks and that is a lot cheaper than the red dots I have been using and I bit the bullet and bought more of the generic flonase that I ran out of but really need with how bad the pollen is this year…I did get an indoor and two outdoor rides in along with going out to the north end to have blood drawn for the checkup on June 11th and got a very good phlebotomist who took her time and hit the vein the first time and I barely felt it…no bruising at all and that’s a first for me…then I got out and seeded some of the bare spots in the yard along with putting weed killer on the very front of the yard…so now I’m going to take a break for a bit and go out and see if the results are there for the blood work…
Trump is going to lose again…
Well…it looks like there is another suit that the idiot trump is going to lose and lose big…just today NPR and PBS stations across the country sued the idiot for violating the first amendment as he attacks any news outlet the print or reports the truth about his criminal behavior…he even tried to fire the heads of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting even though the CPB is an independent entity that he has no power over…this is how stupid this moron is…he thinks the president can reach into corporations and fire people he doesn’t like…and that is the definition of fascism and ignoring the constitution…and he does this every damn day…and when the history of his criminality is written, all of the repubs that are supposed to part of the checks and balances that are written into the constitution will be exposed as the criminal enablers they are…geez…

Well…that was a little better…still up at 5:14 though and didn’t really get back to sleep until I dragged myself out of bed around 6…just poured the first cup of coffee and need to get on the bike by 7 or so…not really…7:30 would be okay since I only need to get in the car to run out to get blood drawn at 9 or so…and it looks like it will be warm enough to put the top down…and it will be the first time I’ve driven since last week’s grocery run and I really should get out more…after I get back I’ll get started on getting two rides in outdoors and then I do need to seed the bare spots on the lawn to take advantage of the rain coming in tomorrow…I may even be able to open the windows today since it’s supposed to be 77 for the high…I did make a good stir fry yesterday and used a Kung Pao sauce to add flavor that I can still barely taste…only had one meal yesterday and no high fat foods since I need to get my cholesterol down for the blood draw today…but this aft I’ll have a smoked brat but then counter that with the stir fry that is 90% veggies…need to get the grocery list done for the run tomorrow and may buy more chicken breasts since they are so versatile but I do have enough to make some Masala already so I probably should make that in a few days….more later…
