Well…when I was on the bike this morning, I had an idea with the really cold weather we’re getting starting tomorrow…the car just doesn’t have enough excess power to start when it gets down around zero so I have charged up my battery jump box but the thought came to me that I can heat the garage just by turning all three burners on the grill and closing the doors…it only has to get up to about 20 in there and the car should start right up and I’ll open the trunk so the warm air can get to the battery…it is so nice to have a work around and be able to stop thinking about the cold…I really don’t have to go anywhere until late next week and it will be back up in the 20′s by then so no big deal…pretty cool…

Noon and done…
Well…it’s a bit after noon and I am really leaning toward taking the rest of the day off after getting three rides in and making the stir fry for lunch…I do need to feed the birds here in a minute and I really should clean the stovetop and I may…and I’ll look for a political topic for later…the Lions play tonight and I’ll start watching that but won’t get through the entire game since it doesn’t start until 8:20 and that is a bit late for me…still pretty worn out even with getting three rides in so I’ll shift into half slow mode for a while and take it easy…but first the birds…more later…
January 18th
Well…damn, I only have 23 minutes before I have to get on the bike and I wonder how much longer I can keep it up? Just poured the first cup of coffee and I’ll get at least one cup down before I need to get going…slept okay last night but I am just so worn out today that I may need to shift into go slow mode to survive it…the weather is going to go to hell later today with the winter weather advisory that is on and we may get 6-8 inches of snow over the next two days as the temp plunges down into the single digits for highs and I’ll be in full thermasuit to go out and shovel…I have enough groceries so I don’t have to go anywhere til Thursday of next week…the wind was howling out here all day yesterday and that is supposed to keep up until Wed…and these next few days will be the coldest since I’ve moved out here and I really do hope the power stays on…going to make some chicken/veggie stir fry today but I’m not sure what I’m going to make tomorrow…it’s looking like some potato soup or ham since my BP still sucks and nothing I do changes it…not much to do today…the Lions play tonight and I’m looking forward to that and the Mecum auction is on all day with some multi million dollar cars to be sold and I’ll have that on all day….more later…
Took it easy today…
Well…after being busy most of the week, today I decided to take it easier after getting the rides in this morning…still have the weight work to do right now but then I’ll be done…I did get the chance to read the rest of the James Patterson novel I started a couple of days ago and it was pretty good…and that gives me another author to look for at the book sale this fall…along with David Baldacci…do I feel like a slug for not cleaning…yep, but I can live with that…still don’t have to cook today but I am going to make chicken and veggie stir fry tomorrow using the bottle of stir fry sauce I got this week since Meijers didn’t have the packets I normally use…might get two meals out of that and I have enough chicken and veggies to make another batch to put over rice…and I have the ingredients of another batch of Masala in the fridge too but I think I’m going to make potato soup first to use up the potatoes that have started to sprout and the celery that has started to wilt…okay, I should go cut up some more celery and carrots for a snack for later…I did plug my jumper box in to make sure it’s charged up in case I need to start the car Monday or Tuesday in the single digit highs…
The stupid cybertruck has been cancelled..
Well…after all of the musk fanboys bought one, sales for the cybertruck cratered so badly that today ole elon announced the ugly piece of crap was cancelled…good…that thing was nowhere near as nice as the pickups made by the major manufacturers that could actually do what a pickup is supposed to do…like drive up a hill or haul anything or not fall apart just driving it…and it cost more than any other electric pickup…even the equally ugly gm hummer…now I feel bad for the people who are going to be laid off but working for tesla and elon is support for the idiot trump and the wave of destruction they are going to foist on this country…so maybe they deserve it…yeah, that’s cold but anyone having anything to do with elon and idiot boy do really deserve what they get…geez…
The media are complicit…
Well…with the failure of media in this country, stupid ideas like abolishing the IRS and imposing tariffs on every country in the world are being treated as more than the insanity they really are…and idiot boy is trying to hide the real effects of tariffs by saying they will be collected by some “external revenue service” that doesn’t exist…look, tariffs are imposed on the importers of foreign goods not on the country they come from so no, China is not going to pay a dime just like every other country is not going to pay a dime….I say this again…you and I are going to pay and like the last time the idiot was in office when it cost the average family 1,200 dollars a year in higher prices caused by the tariffs…this time it could be triple that and that is what I call a “trump tax” on you and I…we sure as hell didn’t vote for that but the stupid people who believe his lies did…and I can’t wait for the media to report that….oh, right, they won’t and the country dies a little more each day…geez…
January 17th
Well…out of bed a little before 6 this morning and I have no motivation to get moving but I know I have to get on the bike before 7…so that gives me 45 minutes to drink coffee and wake up and that should be enough…I was amazed that they plowed the streets up here again yesterday and that made it twice since Monday but I still feel bad for whining about it…didn’t have any pain in my gums yesterday after it was really bad Wed night and I can’t figure that out…the swelling is gone and everything is back to normal…I know I’ll take it but I still wonder what the heck it was…I did get the bathroom cleaned yesterday and need to do more today…the kitchen could use some work along with the dining room and I’ll probably work on them today….it didn’t get below freezing last night but we are going to see a crash in temps Sunday with the coldest weather since I’ve lived out here…0 or below Monday night so I won’t be going anywhere…not much to do today…don’t have to cook for a couple of days but then some stir fried chicken and veggies along with some more Masala to use the chicken I have thawed…more later….

Well…just finished shoveling the snow, cleaning the bathroom, and doing laundry and I am done for the day…Man U plays here in a few minutes so I’m going to take it easy for a bit…I did get the three rides in, too, but that is pretty much a given these days…I did try the pulled pork for lunch and it’s okay…nothing special but edible and I think it will grow on me as time goes on…nice to have some easy food…we must have gotten another 6 inches of snow last night and, with the wind, I had a 2 foot tall drift all along the front of my lots…and this was not the nice light fluffy snow we’ve been getting…it’s over 30 here right now and the stuff was pretty heavy…since I don’t have to go anywhere until late next week, I didn’t shovel the alley…might go out and do that tomorrow…my neck is hurting today so I need to stretch it out and give it some rest…the coldest weather since I bought my house is coming Sunday through Tuesday and we are getting down below 0 Monday night…ick…oh, well…only 6 more weeks til March…

Well…I have been looking for a political topic to write about and even started thinking about it on the bike but I just can’t get anything to solidify…so maybe a few small things…first, the idiot trump has started his mass deportation scheme and I really wonder why his business buddies that depend on that cheap labor are staying silent? You think the price of housing is nuts now? Wait until idiot boy deports the 65% of the housing labor workforce…oh, and let’s not forget the 25% tariff on Canadian lumber that goes into effect on Monday at noon…almost half of all housing in the US is built with Canadian lumber…so you think we have a housing shortage now? Wait for the chaos that is going to start Monday…hell, my house could be worth a quarter of a million bucks by the end of the idiot’s term when he screws up the economy like he did last time…glad I’m not looking for a house now…geez…
January 16th
Well…man, I feel like crap this morning and I slept in til 6:50 and that makes me late for the whole day…it’s after 7 now and I should have been on the bike already but I guess I need to relax and take it as it comes…had some pretty severe pain in my lower left jaw last night that had me reaching for the ibuprofen but it seems better today…the swelling has gone down and no pain this morning so I’ll take it…we did get 4-5 inches of snow last night and I am happy that I don’t need to go anywhere for a week or so and I’ll just hunker down here for that time….I’m still grinning that I found the key ring yesterday…it was always nagging me that they were gone…little darn things make me happy…I did thaw some of the pulled pork I got yesterday so I’ll try that with some bullseye bbq sauce for lunch…hope it’s not terrible since it’s taking up space in the freezer…but I still need to figure out other things to cook…maybe some more potato soup…and I have some ham in the freezer I could put in it…hmmm…not much to do today…the bathroom has been calling to me that it needs cleaning and it may be the thing I do today…who knows…more later…
