The common thread….

Well….during this election year, I want everyone to remember the common thread that runs through all of the anti LGBT legislation that is being passed across the country…they are all being proposed and passed by the repubs. Every person that cares about the civil rights of all of our fellow citizens must make these asses pay at the ballot box this November…it isn’t bad enough that the repubs wreck the economy of every state they control…now they want to wreck the lives of people they hate…Kansas just went so far as to pass a law that would give anyone 2,500 dollars if they “outed” any trans person using a restroom that matches their gender identity…now, I think that the repubs should be labeled a hate group for these kind of actions…and anyone…and I have friends that do this…that purposely ignore what these idiots are doing and vote for them should be ashamed…geez…

March 28th

Well…it was an okay day yesterday and it was nice to get the windows open for a while…slept okay last night but I am having a hard time getting going today…just have no energy…at least the long bike ride yesterday didn’t leave any lasting effects….it was nice to be out in a t shirt and shorts but that looks like the last one for a while with the temp crashing later in the week…I am getting tired of this crappy weather and need it to break soon….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I did get some cleaning done and look to do the same today…need to run some errands later but right now I just want more coffee and the news….more later….

More hypocrisy from the repubs…

Well…I know I talk about repubs hypocrisy quite a bit since there is just so much of it everywhere you look…and the latest one exposes the pure ideology that is behind the gun nut craze driven by the repubs and the NRA…who’s solution to every problem the country faces is more guns everywhere. But, not at the repub convention…yep, they want guns everywhere and feel that gun free zones are the easiest targets for a “bad guy with a gun” but that is exactly what the convention is going to be…a gun free zone. Now, this may not really be that big of a case of hypocrisy since the Secret Service is in charge of security and will not allow guns at the convention…saying that it would make security impossible…and that just points out when you divorce guns everywhere from ideology and use some common sense, the security professionals know that more guns make people less safe. I would assert that instead of a gun free zone being a magnet for killers, I think it would be open carry events that would be easiest for a gunman to attack since he could just walk in with a couple of AR-15’s and a pistol strapped to his hip and no one would even look twice….how could you tell if he was a good guy or a bad guy? This open carry nonsense goes on just because you have the NRA riling up the gun nut fringe and the rest of us aren’t pushing back….I, for one, will not set foot in any business that allows these scared shitless idiots to carry guns in them…never…ever…geez…

March 27th

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get anything done…well..I did get a few things done but not enough…slept okay last night but feel a little slow today and that means I am going to ease into the day…as I always do….still no pain anywhere and that is a little weird…after getting back on the bike, I usually hurt some in the legs but not today….I did get a nice bike ride in yesterday and I hope to do the same today after the temp comes up some….I will have to remember the ibuprofen today since the cramps in my hands were pretty bad yesterday….all of this is pretty boring, isn’t it? Yeah…even to me so I’m going to stop here and go get more coffee….more later…

The backlash begins in NC….

Well…as you probably already know, the repub controlled legislature in North Carolina passed a terrible discrimination bill the other day, in special session and in one day to avoid any input from anyone…the bill would allow anyone to discriminate against the LGBT community for any reason…and now, the backlash begins…basically every national business that does business in the state has condemned this blatant piece of crap bill and the flood of criticism continues today with the NFL saying that NC can forget about getting the super bowl they were expecting…and that has been followed up by the NCAA saying they will move the college basketball playoffs scheduled for 2017 out of NC….but, unless these people follow through on the threats these asses in NC will just laugh and say that it all just “liberals” that are the problem and they are just upholding “family values” for the people of NC…but, the thing is, over 65% of the people of NC didn’t want this bill passed…so who are these idiots representing? I hope these smug asses get the smiles wiped off their faces when the state starts losing billions of dollars when companies leave….they deserve it…geez…

March 26th

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I lost at pool…I did get to put the top down on the car on the way back so that made up for it…slept okay last night and woke up early today so there will be a nap later….I did get to watch the new Star Wars movie last night and it was pretty good…and my son updated the plex software so I can run it at the highest resolution so that is cool…and the new interface is quite modern looking so that is cool, too….will probably watch Deadpool tonight or watch the Wings game since they are struggling to get into the playoffs, again…I really hope it warms up so I can get back on the bike today since I have been off for a few days….not much to do today…going to clean a little and make a blt for dinner…Tom made a suggestion that I put mozzerella on it so I am going to try that today….more later….

March 25th

Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…just a little cleaning but I need to do more…or I don’t…after all no one sees this place but me…slept okay last night but I woke up with the allergies being really bad today so it looks like I may have to take stuff for it all day today…at least I’m not sore today so I guess that’s something…and I haven’t been on the bike in a few days and that makes me grumpy…and it looks like another day off today since I have errands to run this morning and maybe pool this aft…and it is cold outside this morning…cold enough that the rain that was on the car froze and now the beaded drops make the car look like it’s wet but it’s frozen…cool looking but I am tired of the cold…not much to do today…errands and pool…maybe…but that is about it…I splurged and bought bacon yesterday so I am going to make some bacon, eggs, and toast for lunch…..more later….

Republican hate…part two…

Well…if you take a look down the page, you’ll see that I did one of these yesterday on the hate filled bill in Georgia that would legalize discrimination in Georgia…so now, I have to do one of the same on North Carolina, whose repub controlled legislature just went into special session yesterday to pass another one of this heinous bills…but in this case, the governor there, Pat McCrory, gleefully signed to bill to ensure that discrimination is now part of the face of NC. The repubs there plotted this little shenanigan to take place in one day to make sure there could be no citizen opposition to the bill…and a good thing since 65% of the people polled said they didn’t want this bill passed and, as in Georgia, businesses didn’t want it passed, either. So, just like Georgia, companies such as Dow Chemical, Amgen, and other have said they will pull out of the state if the bill was passed…but, in another little twist…this bill is in violation of title IX, which does not allow discrimination in schools…and guess what you haters? You have just cost your state 4 billion, yep, that’s billion dollars in federal school funding just so you haters can hate….I hope all of you pay for this crap…especially you McCrory, all of you repubs are the same….if you can’t hate, you don’t know what to do…geez…

March 24th

Well…running really late today with some computer problems being the cause…I really do need a new one but can’t spend the cash right now…slept okay last night but no dreams again and that is a little frustrating…had to do another grocery run this morning since I forgot a bunch of stuff yesterday but I now have everything I need for the next week or so…spent a ton of cash this week but I needed to…I did get a new baking pan and used it for the first time yesterday…I heard a loud bang in the oven and the pan ended up twisted…it flattened back out after it heated for a while and it’s flat again now that it’s cool but I will be interested to see if it stays flat the next time I use it…I did save the receipt in case it goes wonky again….didn’t get a lot done yesterday since I felt really crappy with not eating enough so I watched a bunch of Japanese movies and just melted into the couch…hope today will be different…not much to do today….going to just try to clean a little after I finish this cup of coffee…more later….

Are they this stupid in Georgia?

Well…another day, another “religious freedom” law is passed in a repub controlled state…this time it’s Georgia pandering to the haters in their state by allowing anyone to discriminate against anyone if they feel like it…I know they thought they were being smart by keeping their law vague so they could hide behind the vagueness and use that to say that anyone that thinks it’s a license to discriminate is wrong…but that vagueness just means that the haters can basically discriminate against anyone…don’t like interracial couples? Check, you’re covered…discriminate away…don’t like gays? Check, you’re covered…discriminate away….don’t like the color of someone’s hair? If it’s a “strongly held religious belief” you are free to discriminate against them…and if you think this is anything but a childish tantrum against the 14th amendment’s equal protection clause…you are an idiot. The delicious irony here is that many large companies…Coke, Disney, Marvel, AMC (the Walking Dead) Home Depot…among others have said that they will leave the state if the idiot governor, Deal signs this atrocious bill into law. Now, we know the so called “religious” right has sway in the south…but I applaud these companies for not using their dollars to support this backward crap…explain this to your citizens, Deal, that their jobs are now gone and 4 billion dollars in economic activity has left your state just so a small group of assholes can discriminate against your fellow citizens…I’d love to hear that conversation….geez…
