Well…I didn’t know that the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti were going to hurt so much…I am severely depressed about this…that thugs can murder anyone they choose and not be held accountable…okay, moving on…when I brought mail in yesterday, I had so much of it and my back hurt so much I had to sit down to read it…and the couch was filled with my laptop and other electronics…so I sat down on my coffee table and it just collapsed…I had repaired it multiple times so I wasn’t surprised…so now I’m using the maple top that used to be my stereo table sitting on a tub that I used to move with…that will work until I can get out to a 2nd hand store to buy a used one…might have to wait til it’s warm enough to put the top down…then this morning my computer froze up again and I spent an hour on the phone with Dell and we finally got it fixed…so today has been a bit of a trial and with the surgery tomorrow, that day should be, too…so no cocktails tonight…

Well…up damn early again today and I broke my coffee table sitting on it yesterday and that sucks…will need to find a thrift shop and buy another one this week…it has been coming a long time and I’ve been holding it together with wood glue but I think it’s past that…darn…just so darn worn out today and I’m not sure how much I’m going to do…it’s still only 10 degrees out there and I am tired of the cold…just another month and we should see some relief in March…didn’t get anything done yesterday but I’ve already tried to glue the table back together…not sure how it’s going to work but I had to give it a try…haven’t looked outside yet to see if it snowed overnight but I’m sure it has…but I had one day off of shoveling so I’ll have to take it…man, it’s going to be tough to get going today so I’m going to ease into it and just see how much I can do…more later…

Well…it’s been a good day so far with getting two rides in along with the weight work before 9 am…and it didn’t snow! So I didn’t need to shovel today and that will be the rest day I’ve really needed…Man U played the best match in the past couple of years and beat the 1st place Arsenal 3-2…and that goes with beating City in the Manchester Derby last week…so now they are in 4th place and eligible for the Champions League later this year if they stay there…and I cooked chicken for lunch but I still couldn’t taste it…okay, just finished the next to last book and want to start the last one…

Well…up and out of bed before 5 today and again, it’s getting damn old and I may have to do something about it tonight…had a nice visit with my son and his wife, and Art the dog yesterday and it was nice to see them…going to take care of Art for two days next week and will be staying in GR Monday night at their house since they are both going to be traveling…my daughter was in the hospital yesterday for more kidney stones and that sucks…had a gallstone attack when I was younger and it was the worst pain I can remember…watching the 24 hours of Daytona and they are under a yellow flag for hours now for heavy fog…it’s still damn cold here at 2 degrees and it needs to warm up soon but that’s not coming until later in the week…at least we didn’t get much snow but enough to shovel so I’ll be out later for that…took some chicken out of the freezer to cook today so I’ll be having a normal meal later with a baked potato and some veggies…didn’t eat enough yesterday with just a bowl of chili and a couple of eggs so I’ll have to do better today…not much to do today…need to get everything done before Man U plays at 11:30 but that should be easy….more later…

Well…got a nice call this morning from one of my sons and he is coming out to go to lunch and he is bringing Art the dog…I think it’s been a year since I’ve seen him and it will be nice hang out for a while…but that means I’ve been cleaning since 9 or so this morning and the place needed it so I’ll be happy later today since can sit here and read on a clean couch…I did get out to shovel the snow when it was -4 this morning but there’s a heat wave going on and we’re already up to 3…okay…want to read a bit before my son comes…

Well…up and moving at 5:14 this morning and that is getting old…like two weeks ago it was old but now it just sucks…didn’t sleep well at all with getting up a little after 3am and the struggling to get back to sleep…it’s -4 right now but I think we’ll be climbing out of that hole today…at least I hope we will since we’ve not been over 2 degrees for two days now and every time the furnace starts I see the dollars going up the chimney…okay…the weather widget says -5 so that’s even worse…not going out to shovel the snow until it at least gets to 0….and it’s nearly a record low for the day…it’s surely the coldest temp since I moved out here…have to figure out meals for the next few days since I don’t have any easy food to eat after finishing off the ham soup yesterday…will probably have eggs and sausage for one of them and I am thawing some chicken thighs to bake but I think they are still a lump of ice…not much to do today…need to clean the stove top and the bathroom but I need to get on the weights and bike first…more coffee…

Well…after shoveling the walks this morning, I decided to shovel the alley since my next door neighbor buried her car in it…so, after I got that done, of course a city plow truck comes through it but did just one pass and that was such a crappy job I’m glad I shoveled it…talked to my daughter this morning and they are bracing for 20+ inches of snow in Charlottesville from the big storm that’s going to hit 34 states and she’s pretty sure they can’t handle that in the south…I had to tell her that we’ve had over 50 inches of snow here in the past week and it’s only getting to 2 degrees today…so I guess we win the weather challenge…okay, need to heat up some soup for lunch…

Well…another day of getting out of bed at 5:09 and I am really tired of it…and another winter weather advisory is on for the day and we need to have a day with no weather alerts or snow…I’m so damn tired and I could use a day off but I won’t take one…I was in so much pain from shoveling so much snow that I had to take an ibuprofen last night just to be able to move at all…it didn’t get as cold as they expected last night but it is still zero right now and that’s pretty damn cold…I do need to get out and shovel more of the alley today but that will wait until later…need to get two rides in today after being lazy and only doing one yesterday but I needed a rest day to try to help the pain…need to figure out meals for today after giving up on the potato soup that didn’t survive the freezer…so maybe a burger and some rings would work…only had two bowls of soup to eat yesterday and I don’t think that’s enough…not much to do today…I really should clean the bathroom but I’m not sure if I have the energy for it…more later…

Well…I got the car out today after shoveling the alley entrance and a 30 foot launch pad at the end of my driveway…they did kind of plow the streets up here overnight and when I got to the plowed parts, the car went through with no problem…and I even got back into the garage…going to have to keep shoveling more and more of the alley as time goes on so it’s not such a white knuckle trip but probably not tomorrow since it’s getting down to a record low of -4 tonight and only 2 for a high tomorrow…glad I got out and did the abbreviated grocery run today so I don’t have to think about it..we are under a winter weather advisor for today and the forecast is for 4 more inches of snow…ick…

Well…up and out of bed at 5:15 this morning and that immediately made me think of the Who song from “Quadrophenia” of the same title…didn’t sleep much last night and it’s only going to get worse as the temps plunge into the single digits for a high tomorrow and into the negative for the low tonight…just poured the first cup of coffee and it needs to work soon so I can get moving and get my day started…I’ve never seen a “cold advisory” before but there is one just issued and that is a little ominous…so I guess I’ll go into survival mode today..another 4 inches of snow last night so I’ll be out shoveling after the rides and need to attack the alley today since they are never going to plow up here…I only had two bowls of soup for food yesterday and it looks the same today…just don’t feel like eating anymore…more later…
