Well…didn’t get out of bed til almost 7 this morning even with waking up around 5 or so and that means I’m running late for getting on the bike since it is 7:23 now and I have just poured my first cup of coffee…can still make it out by 8 so I guess that’s not too late….and I’ll be able to get two rides in by 11 or so…had a good day yesterday and went out to lunch with my brother to a new place that I’ve never been so that was cool…even after 16 months out here, I’ve not really done much or gone to many bars, etc since I am still thinking about covid and don’t want to be in any maskless crowds…..this could be a fun place if I could get over that fear but not right now….maybe over the winter….it did rain out here yesterday so I don’t have to water the lawn today but I still need to do the gardens…I am really surprised how late my tomatoes are this year…it could be another 3 weeks before any are ripe and that is a month later than last year and I’m not sure why other than the weather….I do have a bunch of food prep to do today with making some potato salad and cooking some of the chicken leg quarters I got wed and then figuring out how to get the rest in the freezer along with the smoked kielbasa and turkey…won’t have to buy any protein for weeks after this and that will keep my grocery bill down for a while….not much to do today…just the bike rides and cooking…probably won’t go out to the beach today but I haven’t decided about that yet….the water was so damn cold thurs that I couldn’t stay in it so it may take a week for it to warm up enough again so it won’t hurt….more later….

Well….not having even a bit of luck finding a topic that grabs me today but I will keep trying…but right now, I’ll just noodle a bit and see what happens…I did get out for a nice lunch with my brother at a place called Dockers today and that was only the second restaurant I’ve been to in the 16 months that I’ve lived out here…nice outdoor patio and had some fish and chips and a couple of beers and it was fun to get out for a while….but the rain that was supposed to come didn’t so I’ll have to water the lawn tomorrow….not sure if I can have another meal today with having a bunch of fries for lunch but I do need to make the potato salad that I cooked everything for…will probably just have some cheese and crackers later….I did get two rides in today so maybe just a little dinner? Think I want to take a nap so I just might…it is a special day, after all….more later….

Well…damn, another day that I just can’t get started and didn’t even get out of bed until 6:30….I can’t figure out how I’m sore everywhere today…didn’t do anything strenuous at all but my rib cage aches all around and it hurts a bit to move….hmmmm….it looks like I’ll only get one ride in today with the rain that is coming in and should start here in about an hour and a half so that means I need to get on the bike really soon but I just started my first cup of coffee and I need that to jump start my brain today…didn’t get a lot done yesterday and today looks the same except cleaning up around here since my brother is coming over to take me to lunch….and I do need some motivation to straighten this place up and that is as good as any….damn, it’s 7 and I should be on the bike….it’s been pretty quiet up here the past few days and it feels good to not have to be making noise calls every damn day….but the motorcycles have been pretty noisy and the bands they have downtown for the event can be heard pretty clearly from here…and I wonder why that doesn’t bother me at all but loud music up here does? Could probably write a paper on the psychology of that….not much to do today…just going to wing it after the one ride today and cleaning…no beach with the rain coming in and I think my skin will thank me for that….I have freckles on my hands and arms and I think it make me look old…but I am old so I guess I’ve earned it….more later…..

Well…just got back here after a shortened beach trip and I am still shaking my head from it…after setting up and being out there in an open spot…this group of two women and a man had to set their chairs up about 10 feet from me when the whole damn beach was empty almost….and one of the women would not shut up…for two damn hours she just talked, and talked, and talked…and it was like listening to fox news turned up to eleven…she had every damn opinion there is in the world and every one of them were wrong….just like fox news and I could hear her over the ear buds I had to put in to get some peace…why the hell do some people think that they need to talk every frickin minute? After a while, I got tired of the drone and just gave up and came home…and the water was colder than crap anyway…the lake must of turned over since it was a good 10 degrees colder than it was yesterday…kind of a bust out there today…oh, well….I’ll get to a political one here in a minute…more later…

Well…darn…just can’t get going this morning…got up at 6:37 and it’s already after 7 and I’m just getting to this….need to get moving but just poured my first cup of coffee so it’s not working yet….slept okay but don’t really feel like it but I feel that way all the time so I’m not surprised….I did get downtown last night to watch a band concert for a while and it was fun and perfect weather for it…but the damn motorcycle event started and all you could hear were people racing all over the place and the loud rock and country bands playing on the street…going to be a long 4 days….I did get out to the beach yesterday and got some sun and I’m doing that again today since it is supposed to rain tomorrow…yep, I’m surprised at that, too…and maybe even some storms Sunday…just realized I may have gone overboard with the protein with the grocery run yesterday when I opened the fridge door…bought 10 pounds of chicken, 4 pounds of smoked kielbasa, and a pound and a half of turkey….so I need to figure out how to use some and freeze the rest…..will probably make chicken today and use up the rest of the potato salad so I can make more tomorrow….not sure why I went so crazy but all of that protein only cost about 16 bucks so how could I pass it up? Not much to do today….just need to get on the bike here in about 13 minutes to get started and then do a normal day with a beach run in there….I did get some beans blanched and frozen yesterday but still no tomatoes so this year looks like a bust…oh, well….I just may take a day off tomorrow if it rains and get caught up on my cleaning….I wonder if I could just veg a day out? Well…dang, another busy day today with getting on the bike before 7 and then the grocery run to three stores, back here for another ride, then out to the beach and back here to do some work to my old lounge so I can continue to use it the rest of the year…and now I’m done for the day and it is about 2:36….but I still have laundry to do and taking care of the gardens and that will probably take another hour so this will be a long one…I am going to head down to Heritage later to see a band concert just for the heck of it…not sure who is putting it on but there is a big sign up for it and it’s close so I’ll check it out. It is going to be loud around here starting tomorrow since they have a 4 day motorcycle event going on downtown with bands and lots of loud motorcycles and I may even ride down to take a look and hang around a bit…I don’t look forward to this one since last year idiots were racing up and down 7th street all damn day and night…but I guess it helps the businesses out here so I can suck it up and not bitch too much…maybe I will after it starts but not now…right now I need to just veg a bit and get the clothes in the dryer….

Well…damn, need to get going pretty quickly since I need to get on the bike before I do the grocery run so that means I need to get out of here in the next 15 minutes or so….it did rain last night so I won’t need to water the lawn today but I really wish it would storm or rain during the day for a change so I could see it….I have a little conundrum with the grocery run today…both aldi’s and DD have protein that I can use but that will mean I’ll have too much here…but how do you pass up chicken leg quarters for 59 cents a pound or smoked kielbasa for 1.99 or sliced turkey sandwich meat for 2.37 for 22 ozs? So that means 3 stops this morning and I need to get at it…slept okay last night but was up at 4:11 for the first time and then out of bed at 6:11 and I’m still in a sleep deficit for my life I think….and I still feel worn out but I guess I’ll have to live with that for the rest of my life…I’m old so I guess that goes with it….I did get out to the beach to play in the waves yesterday but the new beach has screwed up the wave action and made a bad rip and undertow…the waves were even going in toward the beach and out at the same time and crashing into each other…some weird stuff I’ve never seen before…needless to say, I had to be really careful out there and it took a lot out of me….but I’ll be back out there again today….but I’ll be using the old chair since the new one broke the first time I used it and I’ll have to return it and hope the 15 year old one will last out the summer….not much to do today…I got the lawn mowed late yesterday afternoon so I don’t have much to do but the grocery run today but I need to get off my butt and get going….more later….

Well…damn, finally…we got some rain out here yesterday and it even rained twice in one day and I can’t remember that happening in a long long time….and I put food down on it before the rain and I think it’s as green as I’ve ever seen it…at least in the summer…and that means that I’ll have to mow here today or tomorrow…and it may even rain again tonight so that means that I won’t have to water it til Friday or so…slept okay last night but woke up with tight skin and can’t figure that out with not going to the beach yesterday…all I did was drive down to GH to get a new beach chair so that must be it…and the new chair fits in the trunk so that is cool…didn’t think I’d be able to find one this late in the summer….I am going out to the beach today to try it out but need to be back here by 1 for the hearing…so I need to haul ass to be off the bike for the new JWST photos that will be revealed at 10:30 and will need to be on the beach by 11 or so…damn, see that…rushing again and I can’t figure out how not to do it when I have things I want to do…..not much to do today….just going to ride and get to the beach and then veg out for a bit this afternoon….have a nice cool breeze blowing through here right now and I wish I had time to just enjoy that for a while…but I have to do my teeth right now so I can get on the bike….more later….

Well…darn…the car started leaking coolant again today so it looks like I need to find a shop out here that will work on it….probably a water pump that will cost at least 600 bucks to have fixed since you have to take the entire front of the engine apart to get to it and then you have to replace the timing belt, too, while you have it apart….along with all of the gaskets for the cam covers since they have to come off, too….so I guess that will be the project for the week…and I just noticed that I have blisters on my scalp from too much sun yesterday…so I guess the beach is out today….darn again…

Well…running a bit late this morning with not getting out of bed til 6:30 and I feel pretty worn out today….one of these days, I’m going to take a day off and just sit here and watch tv and drink coffee all day….but not today….have a lot to do today and need to get going here in a few minutes to get two rides in and head to GH to check out a new beach chair….I am looking forward to the release of the first JWST photos tomorrow that are supposed to be pretty cool and will start the flood of new science from it that I am pretty geeked about….it’s like the Hubble all over again and I can’t wait…and then there is the latest January 6th hearing that I will be glued to…but damn, indict the asshole in chief already…trump needs to go to jail and right now….but that’s a topic for another one today…and I will get to a political one later….two of my sunflowers died and I can’t figure that out…must be a fungus or something that I haven’t seen before…oh, well…I’m still waiting for it to rain out here and I am still shaking my head that the storms from yesterday fell apart again when they hit the lake and I expect that the ones that are forecast for today will do the same….I probably should put some food on the lawn just in case….not much to do today….just the rides and errand to GH…and I may go to the beach since there are beach warnings up and there may be some waves to play in…but there is not too much wind right now so that may not be til later…..need more coffee and to do my teeth….more later….
