Well… a nice ride on the bike even though it was a little cold…..and I think that is what brought the snakes out today to warm up on the pavement…I even stopped and picked one of them up to play with for a while…but the grasshoppers were doing the same thing and that was not good for them because they didn’t get out of the way today….there are probably a couple hundred less of them in the world…and I have grasshopper guts all over the bike…
I think I may start a new feature here…I’m going to give one line of song and you guys can guess what song it’s from…and, no, there are no prizes other than the satisfaction of having a good memory and being a music geek like me….the first one is easy…”I stepped up on the platform, the man gave me the news, he said you must be joking son, where did you get those shoes?”…if you know me, you’ll know the group…
Well…another night, more crappy sleep and up way too early….this place looks kind of strange at 5:03….it’s not 5:03 now…I did have to get a glass of water and stare at the tv for a couple of minutes after all….and no dreams again so I guess I’m in a slump with those, too. It was a strange day yesterday…not really strange but it floated by and made no impression on me…I don’t remember it…oh, well…not much to do today…I do have groceries now…..I may have a couple with K today but I’m not sure but that’s about it…okay, writing in the dark is harder than it looks and I don’t want to do that much work right now…more later…
Well…a nice day yesterday and I finally won at pool after a couple of weeks of losing….but the Wings lost their first preseason game so that wasn’t good…but there is another one tonight and it is just the preseason…I wasn’t too good when I got home so I am feeling a little slow today…and I really don’t have a lot to say today, right now, that is…so I’ll come back later to add to this one….
Okay, I’m back…late, I know, but I did have a few things to do this morning and my head wasn’t working very well…it still isn’t much better but I thought I should come back for a while….didn’t get the three peat on the dreams last night…didn’t sleep too well and I think that may be the reason…I did have to go out for groceries today and I did get the bike ride done along with watching the last episode of “Dexter”…then I had to cancel the dvd’s from Netflix….not going to pay 8 bucks a month when they have slowed the processing down so I can only get about 4 a month…I can get 4 from redbox for 4 bucks….okay that’s about it for now….need to take something for my back since it hurts today for some reason….maybe more later…
Well…another night and I was good so I feel good today with a lot of energy but I am running late since I was up at 5 and then went back to bed to have the dreams that always come in the last hour of sleep…the last two nights have been a continuation with some weird serial killer trying to pin a murder on me….okay, I told you there were some weird things going on in there…I really can’t wait to see if I can get three nights in a row of the same dream….can’t remember that ever happening….there have been some jobs out there and had 4 more resumes go out yesterday….that’s almost 10 in less than a week so maybe something will happen soon…not much to do today….the hockey pre-season starts tonight and I have the last disc of “Dexter” coming…maybe there is a connection between that and the dreams? I will have another one later…since I feel my brain starting to work again…more later…
Well…another night out for a couple with G and had fun…and I was kind of good when I got home so I feel okay today…but I know I didn’t eat enough yesterday and that will come back to haunt me today….at least it’s not raining today so I can get the bike ride in….not much else to do today…I am going to cook a big meal for lunch of a pork loin roast so that is something to look forward to…and I am going to skip the cocktails for the rest of the week just to finish off the recovery process and make sure I’m over the bug completely…I will be back later for more….

Well…it was a long day yesterday and with the lack of sleep, I’m feeling kind of run down today…I did try to sleep but it just didn’t work and I shouldn’t be surprised..it is normal after all. It’s raining out and I may be able to break the string of 152 straight days on the bike…I do have things to do around here and it may be a good thing…or I can wait until later in the day….who knows? I haven’t been getting to the politics lately but there is a reason for it…I am so disappointed with everything that is going on that I just haven’t been able to comment…maybe today…more later…
Well….a cold morning out on the bike but the sun felt good and I did too….I’m still amazed that I can keep this up every day…but, enough of that….the Great Blue Heron has gone missing from the ponds along M-6 but there was another sighting that more than made up for it…on one of the bridges I cross on the trail, there was some sort of raptor sitting right in the middle of the bridge and it sat there until I was about 10 feet away where I could see that it had just made a kill of a bluejay and had it in it’s talons. When I approached it, the bird took off down the trail to land about 6 feet up in a tree where it sat just watching me…tried to get the phone out to get a picture but it took off before I could….don’t know what kind of bird it was…at first thought, Peregrine Falcon popped into my head but this bird was all medium grey and the size of a large crow…maybe a Kestrel? I’ll have to go out and look it up…if I find out, I’ll update later….
Well….a normal day yesterday with a little diversion provided by going out for one with K and K at the local watering hole….that was a little cliched wasn’t it? I do like the looks that I get when the twins walk into a place and sit down with me…and the Peppino’s out here is so suburban to quote one of the K’s….then it was back here to watch the final disc of season 5 of “Dexter”…didn’t finish it but I have the rest of the day to do that….well…not really…going out to shoot pool with Tom later so that will make the rest of the day kind of a blur….might not even make it to “Breaking Bad” at 10…we’ll see. I do have one of the biggest soccer matches of the year this morning with Chelsea and Manchester United so I do need to get out on the bike in a few minutes so I can be back before 11…waiting for it to warm up a little first, though, it is a little cold when the temp is under 50…and I do have time to wait since it’s only 8:30….on that note…going to read the online papers and have one more cup of coffee…there probably won’t be more later….it is Sunday after all…
Well….I am a little irritated with the organized bike ride on the trail this morning…it’s bad enough dealing with the few rookies I see every day, but when they are out there in groups of 20 it is a real pain in the butt. I got run off the trail and into the weeds twice by people that were just not paying attention…okay, I know I have a mountain bike that is made for it….okay…not that big of a deal…but I did get a second one in for the day and Michigan is going to start here in about a half hour so I’m smiling…maybe even more later…
Well….I think I’m climbing out of the hole of sickness finally and it is really a good thing…it gets tiring to be sick for such a long time with the serial relapses that have come with it…but, even after a couple of cocktails last night, I feel okay this morning and I’m running late as usual. I needed to get the ribs in the oven and read the papers with coffee first before I got to this….it is going to be a sports day today with all kinds of college football and races to watch and one of my sons may be coming into town to hang out for a while so at least the boredom will be kept at bay…I even cleaned the kitchen yesterday and that felt good….need to do the bathroom this morning along with getting the bike ride in so I need to get going…it’s a shame that the nice weather has gone away and I have to wear a sweatshirt to ride…it’s only 49 degrees, after all…..more later…
