Well…that sucked…didn’t sleep well at all last night and was up and down with finally giving up at 5:30 and getting up…but, I knew that was going to happen with being good last night…I realized that it was 51 years since I started my only good job at Steelcase…1973…yow that was a long time ago…it’s too cold to get a ride in outdoors before the grocery run so I’ll be downstairs in an hour or so and then do two rides outdoors when I get back here…I do need to hit DD this morning to pick up some boneless/skinless chicken breasts to use in some chicken masala this weekend for 2 bucks a pound…but you have to buy 4 pounds so that is enough for two batches…still have leftovers for today and tomorrow so I may have to make the masala Friday….and I do have the ingredients for salads so that will stretch into the weekend…still no rain here for weeks now and none in the forecast until the 21st and that is a low probability…oh, well…not much to do today…just the grocery run and vaccinations and I hope it warms up enough to put the top down on the car…more later…

Well…damn, I think I’m getting lazy with the second day in a row with not doing much but ride the bike and doing laundry…didn’t even have to cook with having leftovers…I did get some reading done and that felt good to be able to just take a couple of hours to just relax and do that…tomorrow will be a little busier with the rides, grocery run, and vaccinations…going to stop at DD on the way home to get some boneless/skinless chicken to make some more chicken masala sine I haven’t made it in quite a while and I like it…no cocktails tonight so I’ll feel good with all the stuff to do tomorrow…and I can use a break…so I need to go get my allergy meds and find something to watch tonight…

Well…as you’ve noticed, the site was down this morning…and I need to get a second ride in right now so I’ll be back in about an hour and a half…more later…Okay, I’m back a little later than I said but have the three rides in, laundry started, and lunch in the air fryer…and I’m finishing up the coffee as I do this…slept okay last night but probably won’t tonight with the start of being good for a while…still have a lot to do today with putting the grocery list together, doing the weight work, and the putting the list together of the bike parts I need to order soon…the trees have started to change color out here and I wonder if it has to do with the fact that we’ve had 10 minutes of rain here in the past month? Some of the trees are under a lot of stress and have started dropping their leaves already and I think that’s a bit early…going to try to get a ride in tomorrow morning before I do the grocery run and get vaccinated…and then I can make it a three outdoor ride day but I’m not sure why I’m still piling on the miles after reaching the goal for the year…habit, I guess…not much to do today…should clean the kitchen some or take the AC unit out and put it back downstairs so I can get some air flow through my bedroom…more later…

Well…it was an easy day with just the rides and some yard work done but I did remember to schedule my fall vaccines…getting both my flu and covid vaccines Wed morning after I get the grocery run done…then I’m going to wait a couple of weeks and schedule my rsv and shingles vaccines and then I’ll be done with them for the year..they had lots of spots open and I hope it stays that way for a couple of weeks..it was so windy when I went out that the waves were 6-8 feet tall and there was even a guy out there trying to surf them…and they were so loud that I could hear them even with music in my ears..so I took my earbuds out and just sat there listening to it roar for a while…then I did a weed walk and filled in the holes that the skunks dug in the grass with my last bag of topsoil…and even carved out a couple of hours to read…okay, just need to veg out for a while and stare at the tv…

Well…damn, didn’t get out of bed til a little after 7 this morning and I still feel pretty worn out….it’s warm enough to get on the bike as soon as I’m ready but just poured the first cup of coffee and need to get some of that in me first…I wonder if the pain in my neck is ever going to go away? I’ve had it for a couple of months now and I sure hope I don’t have to stay off the bike to heal it…I think I need to open a new tube of voltaren today sine I’m going to have to treat my neck before the bike…and my knees…I sure hope there’s no permanent damage there…got the bathroom cleaned yesterday and should work on the kitchen today and I might but there is yard work to do so I should do some of that…don’t have to mow the lawn since it hasn’t rained out here in almost two weeks and it’s not growing…and there is no rain in the forecast until a small chance on the 21st…not much to do today…there is soccer on this aft so I guess I could watch that and I do need to cook some chicken thighs for lunch so that’s something…more later…

Well…yeah, now that’s an exciting headline…but I did get it done and it needed it…but I didn’t get much else done other than the bike rides so I sure wasn’t overworked….it was funny that the air temp out at Lake Michigan was 10 degrees cooler than inland and it’s probably that the lake turned over again so even if I go to the beach this week, I probably won’t be able to swim…oh, well…I do need to get started on the yard to get it ready for fall and I need to trim the trees around my power line along with get after the trash bushes in my fence and I do need to do a weed walk tomorrow to keep them suppressed  so the grass can grow back in…it’s going to be in the 80’s this week so it will be nice to finish off the summer after the heat going on last night…okay, need to read a bit and get ready for the Lions game tonight…

Well…damn, it’s a little comforting when the heat comes on all by itself when it hasn’t run since April…it got down to 44 degrees overnight but it’s nice an comfortable in here…and the combo of heat and brewing coffee is all I need right now…had another night of okay sleep last night and feel okay today and will be getting on the indoor bike by 8am but I’ll be outside for the second one by 9 since it will be 55 by then…the cold weather will be over for a week or so with the lows around 60 and highs in the 80’s but I do need to get ready for the cold that is coming later in the month…the Hispanic festival was so damn loud yesterday and it is a relief that it is over…or it might not be…there could be a second day today…hope not…then the Irish music festival starts…oh, well…didn’t get much done yesterday so I need to get some cleaning done today…just eating leftovers so that will make it a little easier but I still need to plan meals for the week….have more chicken in the fridge that needs to be cooked so that will be one of the daily meals for 4 more days…not much to do today…just need to read the news and have more coffee right now and then get off my butt and get going…more later…

Well…it’s been an easy day today after the rides but, with the Hispanic festival going on at Hackley Park, I’ve had a Mariachi band in my living room all day…oh, well…I have been having my feet slipping around on the bike pedals for a couple of weeks now and I figured out why…the 12 year old running shoes I have been using for bike shoes for more than a decade have no treads left on the bottom of them for the spikes on the pedals to grip…tried my walking shoes today and now my feet feel like they are glued to the pedals like clips…the 12 year old shoes were falling apart anyway and the walking shoes are really comfortable on the bike so that’s cool…I did get three rides in today but the first one was indoors since it was only 48 when I got up…I did go out when it was 52 and that is too damn cold…my fingers turned numb and it took me a long time to get warmed up when I got back here…it has never gotten over 66 in here today so the heat will come on tonight since 66 is what I have set on the thermostat…okay, time to go read for a while…

Well…damn, it’s only 48 degrees out there right now so it looks like the first ride will be indoors today…but not for a while, just poured the first cup of coffee and need to sit for a bit…I am really confused about how well I’ve been sleeping for the past few weeks…I mean no tossing and turning and no two hours to get to sleep…and the sheet and blanket are still on the bed  and I think it all comes down to being able to sleep on my back again…no painful shoulders waking me up all night and this morning I woke up at 6 and then just laid there and fell back to sleep until almost 7…cool….I did get the kitchen sink cleaned yesterday and did some cooking so today will be a leftover day and I won’t have to cook again until next week sometime….I did have to repair my earbuds that I use on the bike yesterday so I think I’ll order a new pair with the bike driveline parts I’m buying soon…have to make a list of all the things I need so I can get it all with free shipping and with the cash back I have on my capitol one card so all of it will be free….these buds have lasted almost 5 years and that isn’t bad for 19 bucks…thinking about winter riding already and I am going to buy a set of rechargeable heated gloves and maybe even socks, too…as I get older, I get more sensitive to cold and need to deal with it…more later…

Well…after talking about how reliable the bike has been this year, today a pedal broke on the way back from the third ride…just seized up and started screeching and I wonder how? These pedals have sealed bearings so there shouldn’t have been any way that grit could have gotten in them…only had about 8,000 miles on that set but I did have another new set that I bought for the black bike and swapped them for the bad ones…still going to see if I can take it apart and look at it…maybe to salvage them for the black bike…I did get three rides in today and felt pretty good doing it but the wind almost got me off the bike after ride two…it was blowing 20-25 out of the NE so that meant straight into it on the way back…I did get the tacos made today so I’ll have leftovers until next week…okay, have some cleaning to do before the France/Italy soccer match…
