My coyote story…

Well…I almost forgot to talk about this one but it is a pretty good story so here goes…when I took off for an early ride Sunday morning…out of here a little before 7 and that is a little early but was the only time that I could avoid the rain…the ride was normal until the downhill after the first big climb along M-6 when I saw the weirdest thing I’ve seen on the bike…a coyote with one of it’s hind legs caught in the top of the four foot fence that lines the trail…it appeared that it had tried to leap the fence but just didn’t make it and was hangingĀ  high enough that it’s front legs couldn’t reach the ground…and me, being the idiot that I am, stopped to take a look to see if I could help…but, I’m not enough of an idiot to do so without protection of some heavy leather gloves since coyotes are known to have rabies quite a bit…so, I turned around, rode back home, got the gloves and headed back to the animal…by the time I got back to it, it must have shaken itself loose since it was gone and I admit that I felt a little relief since I don’t know enough about coyotes to have freed it safely….so, I think this one goes to the top of trail weirdness that I have seen over the years…now, I just need to see a bear to beat that one…
