Well…just a couple of thoughts that I wanted to get down here this aft and not get further behind….you know, repubs are still really stupid….first, you have this fight over immigration with them trying to tie reversing Obama’s immigration policies by tying them to funding for the DHS and acting like a bunch of pouting little brats when the dems don’t roll over and allow it….those immigration policies are nothing different than Saint Ronnie of Reagan did when he was in office and the repubs thought they were great back then…wonder what the difference is? Yeah, we all know the just hate the black guy in the White House…..what was the second stupid thing? Oh, I guess it’s just that they keep doing the same thing and expecting different results…did they really think that even if they passed this crap that Obama was just going to say…”oh, okay, if you say so, I’ll sign it”? Oh, the second thing is ole Boehner’s invite of Bibi…and now 63% of the country said it was a stupid thing to do…so, John, don’t take my word for it, listen to the damn country for a change…geez..
February 17th
Well….running really, really late this morning since the pressure switch on the well failed at C’s so I had to be the good person I’m trying to be and go over to fix it…only three trips out and it is fixed so that is a good thing…slept okay last night, too, even with being good but my stomach has been giving me fits for the past few days and I don’t really want to eat anything…it all tastes crappy…threw away half a chicken sandwich since I couldn’t force it down….not much to do today…..C is coming into town so I have to meet up with him later and have a couple and then I have a bunch of stuff to do around here…more later….
Some developments…
Well…just haven’t had the desire to do many of these lately with the bug and it being so damn cold that all I can do is worry whether or not the car is going to start. But, today, there have been some developments that I wanted to share and I hope that the act of writing will make it easier for me to continue….first, the best thing that happened is that my toothpaste no longer tastes like tobacco and I am starting to get the rest of my taste straightened out….the burning on my tongue seems to be subsiding, too, so maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel? I did get a bunch of stuff done today all the while waiting for the energy level to fall off so far that it would put an end to it but it didn’t happen so I think that’s another sign I’m getting better, too….so, I am going to hope this translates into getting my brain working better, too, so I can get back to at least trying to do more of these and get caught up….more later…
February 16th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I felt like crap all day and today is starting out the same…just want this bug to be over and for me to get back to what passes for normal for me…I need to be able to taste, too, which is keeping me from eating enough and that is compounding my feeling like crap…and, I need to get a bunch more of these out in the next day or so since I’m way behind here and everywhere….not much to do today…I do have stuff to do but I’m not sure how far I’ll get feeling like this…going to have to be good for the entire week just to see where I’m at and I am looking forward to that….more later…
February 15th
Well…it was a crappy day yesterday and it looks like today will be the same…feel so rotten this morning that it is a huge amount of effort to just do this…I should be on the couch and that is where I am going in just a minute…the car did start this morning but that is because I let it run for an hour last night before bed…and I am getting really tired of that, too…..okay…that’s it….need to go back to the couch and rest…flu is not over yet….
February 14th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool…started to feel better but that has not continued today….I have to remember that recovery will be fitful at best…it’s not the linear thing that I would hope it would be….I do feel a little better and the coughing has subsided some so that is a good thing…but I just want this crap to be done….I would love to have my taste back, too, but that will take a while…so, it looks like this weekend will be another one to just take it easy and work on recovery….it is going to be cold tonight so I need to go out about 11 an let the car run for an hour or so so it will start in the morning….and then maybe get up at 3 or so and do it again….I do have stuff to do around here today, too but I’m not sure how much I’ll get done…more later….
Last of the flu…
Well…it has been a long week but the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train coming the other way…I am starting to feel reasonable today and was even able to go out and run a bunch of errands ahead of the big storm for tomorrow….still can’t taste anything but my smell is starting to come back so I have hope I will be able to taste later in the weekend. Still sweating like a pig, though, but I think that is just part of the end of the flu…wishful thinking maybe but I’m going to go with that for now….oh…and there was no pool today since Tom got hurt yesterday and needs the week off…
February 13th
Well…what a wasted week…still feel like crap and sweated through my clothes just going out to get the papers today…and I hurt everywhere again…not sleeping doesn’t help, either, but this is the worst flu I’ve ever had by a long margin…might even make me get a flu shot next year….and the energy level has fallen off again today so it is going to be back to the couch after this one…and, as you already know, there is really nothing else to report right now unless I want to describe how the couch feels but that would be too much even for me…more later…oh…I did find out that my screwed up taste is common in sinus infections and flu…and will take a couple of weeks to straighten out….
Still more flu…
Well…I really thought I’d feel better today…and after feeling good enough to go out for the grocery run it seems that was all of the energy I had for the day….have felt pretty crappy all day but my sinuses are better so maybe that’s progress? If things stay like this, it looks like no pool tomorrow…there is no way I’m going to have the energy to go…the strange thing is that in 30 years of working, I never took 3 days in a row off from work for being sick and this time would have been an entire week…so maybe I’m right when I can’t remember ever being this sick….I will keep updating this as long as I’m still fighting this one…crap…just started coughing again…when will this all end?
February 12th
Well…it was another crappy day yesterday and I woke up to a weird surprise this morning…when I was brushing my teeth I noticed that it didn’t taste like the mint it is…it tasted like tobacco and now I am noticing that everything tastes off…coffee doesn’t taste like anything and that is concerning me…I think I need to go try some hot sauce to see if it screwed up across the range….it’s already hard enough to eat enough and if noting tastes right, it is going to be even harder…really hope it’s just the flu and not permanent….okay…just went to the fridge and tried some cotto salami and I could taste that a little and it tasted right so maybe it is just the breathing through my mouth with the head congestion that is causing it….I did muster up the energy to go out for a grocery run this morning but was sweating through my clothes by the time I got back here…..so maybe some progress but not enough…more later….
